One Note, the 4 Landing Pad ship is the Skagerrak so you do have a picture, the Asgard now replaces the front Landing pad with the big Radar dish from the Heimdall
Indeed. They did not show this in the build instructions that come with the box though. It was just added recently to the ID document on the DW homepage.
Perfect timing! I have the Ragnarok and Scions boxes, and the starter set in on the way! The only thing that's missing from these boxes is the amount of Valkyries. You have to buy several scandinavian support squadron boxes to get a respectable amount. Luckily there are many options to build the other ships (thor/loki/heimdall etc)
Indeed Valkyries are such a rare commodity, and you need so many of them. Hopefully, like with the Union's Akrons, at some point they'll become more common as they are added to more and moresprues
One important user note: the Scandinavian support sprue (at least the version I have) has no regular sturmklaue or voltgun battery on it, so if you want to upgrade your Loki Shadow Raider from shock rocket battery to sturmklaue, you'll need one from another sprue. In my case, I was out of luck (because I put sturmklaues on everything Imperium) so I was forced to go with a regular voltgun battery from one of my other Imperium sprues. =(
Since I decided to collect and play as imperium first, I plan on collecting the scandinavians soon after too! Design wise, I particularly love the little subs on the end of the valhalla and support cruisers! On the other hand the valkyries always looked a little strange to me because they seemed too scifi looking to fit the steampunk aesthetic. But I think they're starting to grow on me!
The Midget Subs are so cute indeed. Valkyries do take a while to get used to - but look at both versions of the weapons ! The Rockets version is very different visually to the electric cannon one!
Great video as alway. However, i dont think that you are required to glue some valkyries onto the Asgard / Skagerrak. Sadly you only get one valk per support sprue, so they are in dire need. i wish we had 2 on each sprue, then i would also think about sacrificing 1 or 2 to add some flavor to the rotor carriers.

i play both imperium and commmonwealth. the Valhalla can dish out alot of fire power but its rather close range based. Load up on Rail guns and you'll focus it down pretty fast. Rail will make it Cit 14.
Best answer against Valhallas will be long range weapons, especially torpedoes that can go under the Shroud. Valhalla is deadly at point blank and very dangerous at closing, but if you stay at Long Range or Extreme Range, he cannot do anything except angrily shake his fist at the sky
Impressive box ! Scions of Jutland are indeed the best mercenaries for the factions who lack boarding / point blank firepower. Their flagships are not very good, especially compared to the mighty Valhalla !
It is funny when in your Ganges video, you mentioned that in Warhost's opinion, 80 points for Indus is way too low, but it looks apparent that basically 85 points for Odin, that may fulfil Indu's role much better and is capable of a very potent Assaults as well, is completely fine. And Odins are available as mercenaries, so Crown has access to them... I am in the process of painting my SoJ + one odin from the extra Frontline Squadron. And I skip on the Ganges because, in my opinion, this is a completely substandard faction.
Odin and Indus have very different roles. The Odin is meant to hide and charge, while the Indus is a Closing / Long / Extreme monster. The Indus has the crazy Crown boost to its Gunnery weapons to make them Devastating, it can get the crazy Majestic Gun Batteries for Extreme Range pain, a rear gun battery and Heavy Broadside, AND Focused Gunnery on top of all that. In return, the Odin has less Citadel, less Hull Points, is weakened by its Vulnerable Stern, and has a very average Gun Battery. Yes, at Point Blank with its Heavy Sturmklaue, if it also gets to do a boarding, it can outperform an Indus. But the Indus will have time to kill a couple of Odins in open sea before they get to board him. The Odin can be good, but it is much harder to play, and it needs combos with Valkyries to reach its full potential, while the Indus is just raw power at all ranges.
@@loveandwargames I do not agree. You are putting a Shroud Generator on Odin, and she is more survivable than Indus. You gain much, and you lose little because Heavy Volt Gun Battery has a very low support value, and you have only 3 of them. And they may take Valkeries on top of that with that - 2C crazy rule. Such full unit costs less than 4 Induses. + Very effective assoult.

However, the Indus are still more powerful at Closing Range... and they will be the only ones capable of shooting at either Long or Extreme range (!). That is a HUGE advantage. On top of the Focused Gunnery. The 3 Odin + Valkyries is going to be better at Point Blank, that is for sure, but the trick will be to get there, while your opponent will be stronger than you at any other ranges beyond PB. It is not impossible, but the Indus is still by far the favorite. At 90pts it is still a steal, but it is not "best ship of the game point-for-point" anymore. The Odin, by comparison, is a very good ship that does require a solid delivery plan to reach Point Blank.

i' have counter a valhalla with a Richelieu escot by 4 ecuyère frigate, i deal 10dmg, and finish him with my sirene squad

Not being able to take a vanilla Valhalla is 95% of the reason why I play them as Imperium and not as Scions
