  • Join with us for a couple of beers around the campfire with two Western Australian Professional Prospectors - Matt and Campbell, who now use the Garrett ATX as the primary pulse induction metal detector in their arsenal. Matt and Campbell explain their reasons for converting to the ATX, discussing such features as threshold stability in the highly mineralized W.A. goldfields, detecting W.A. salt lakes, EMR shielding and the usefulness of the Iron Check feature. This is Part 1 of a series of videos filmed entirely on location in the beautiful Eastern Goldfields of W.A. www.nqexplorers.com www.garrettaustralia.com.au

    Great video for those of us that prefer the key features and performance of the ATX verified by professionals. Blokes like Matt and Campbell - rely on using the best tools they can get to do the job. If they are smiling..then so should any ATX owner. Cheers Ian GL & HP Ian.

      Thanks for watching Ian - agreed - if the professionals have moved to the ATX, us 'weekend warriors' can be confident we are using a pretty special bit of kit! Happy Fossicking mate! Warren.

      I can't speak to the effectiveness of the atx but I bet you these 2 clowns are using a 7000 in reality

    Thank you Warren . It was great hearing Matt and Campbell verify something I had wondered about for a while now . Hearing Professionals say they didn't have to sacrifice stability , or their body when getting wet over the competition was good to hear . And the price is more affordable as well . Hearing a professional talk about tools of our hobby . I take heed and listen . I look forward to your next video .

    Very good video. And great information and reference. Thanks. I have been thinking about getting the ATX. And I will because it outperforms other machines and so many treasure hunters us it. And find spectacular gold targets. And coins.

    Interesting piece Warren...my Minelab DOES act up under and around power lines and certain areas that don't seem to have any power running thru at all and won't settle down no matter what I do. - Jim

    I'm a bit like everyone else Warren, it'd been good to see the gold you found with it. I know it would have been a bit counter-productive if these guys were showing just what they could find on their claim, but without the evidence it just produces suspicion. [From others on PA forum]

    • @NQExplorers
      @NQExplorers  10 лет назад

      G'day Darryl, this video is just Part 1 of the trip - an introduction to Matt and Campbell. In Part 2 we set up a GPX and ATX under the power lines, and go on to do a live dig on small gold with the ATX, demonstrating it's stability under very high EMR. This includes the DD and mono coils. Part 2 should be ready in a week or so. Thanks for your comment mate. Warren.

    Thanks for the video guy's, im going to get one soon once i sold one of me VLF machine's. only issue i see is that iron check switch will be used alot, they should of made that a finger switch instead. like a white's do for the pin point, i know it looks better way than the infinium. where u had to turn a knob. i dont think its wise to have it on a press button, for the reason of durability!

    • @NQExplorers
      @NQExplorers  10 лет назад +2

      Wayne Shepherd Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment Wayne. Durability is no issue for the ATX - it truly is 'Mil Spec'. I have literally used that Iron Check button thousands of times and have had no issue. It is very ruggedly built and can take some pretty tough treatment. Best of luck with your new ATX mate! Happy Fossicking! Warren.

    cheers Arizona,I am thinking of getting a very basic atx package.it sounds like you recommend the dd coil? when I used a gpx 5000 my favorite was the 11" mono

    • @NQExplorers
      @NQExplorers  6 лет назад

      Thanks for commenting Andrew, I would recommend the smaller 8" mono coil for Arizona prospecting, it is very sensitive on small gold and will be perfect for prospecting that country (I was there in January). All the best mate and Happy Fossicking! Warren.

      Thanks for commenting Bearkat - the ATX is certainly well regarded in Western Australia, and is finding plenty of gold - and for two professionals to endorse it and use it as their primary tool - is impressive. Looks like you are having a great summer there and getting plenty of gold yourself. Happy Prospecting mate! Warren.

    These videos are all about selling a product ot us the viewer.... Totally bias opinions from these guys... other detectors such as the SDC2300, the 7000, are just as good... I dont think the 5000 is as good as any of these units though.

    • @Aussie21717
      @Aussie21717 6 лет назад

      TheBlues Ine. yep I second that. I've put the atx and GPS 5000 over the same nuggets still in the ground and the atx couldn't even hear it, so you are missing nuggets there. Yes they are better than a 5000 around powerlines but that's all, but so is a gpz7000 now. How often do I detect around powerlines, I don't even remember the last time.
