THIS STORY:
A Chicago woman named Marlen Ochoa Lopez was a pregnant teen who was strangled, to death by two women (mother & daughter) who were posing as sellers of baby products. They cut out Marlen's unborn baby.
They had planned the killing for weeks, having first lied that the perpetrator daughter was expecting a child, and then using Facebook to find and lure Marlen to their home as their target.
It was the mother, Clarisa Figueroa, 46, who strangled and killed 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa-Lopez at Figueroa's Chicago home, then removed the teen's baby from her body and pretended it was her's. A Facebook post asking for baby supplies helped lead police to Marlen's body.
Figueroa and her daughter, Desiree Figueroa -- who police say helped in the strangulation -- were arrested after investigators found the Marlen's body in a trash can in Figueroa's yard. Clarisa and Desiree Figueroa, 24, were charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery of a child less than 13 years old. Clarisa Figueroa's boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, 40, had been charged with concealing the death of a person and one felony count of concealing a homicidal death.

This case still breaks my heart. She was my best friend, my first friend I made in HS. She was such a beautiful and genuine soul. I forever miss her and love her.

Rather than sacrificing as we usually define the word, I think they are making selfless offerings to those passed before them. Out of love, reverence and care. It can be food, flowers, and yes, money...for life on the other side. Another culture's way of showing perennial attention and love.

The same thing happened to Michelle Wilkins in Longmont, Colorado in 2015 after she responded to a Craigslist ad offering baby clothes. Perp was nurse's aide, Dynel Lane, who was sentenced to 100 years in 2016. Michelle survived, her baby did not. R.I.P. Baby Aurora.

I can’t always get on to comment, and I watched this when it came out 2 weeks ago. This disgusted me so much that I had to comment. This crime left me with the shivers and I can’t get the story out of my head.I really hope these women begin to have a even a hint of guilt about what a disgusting tragedy they are responsible for. Because maybe then they might start to feel the pain of real remorse.
Ron, the remnants of the money are remnants of paper hell money that some Chinese people burn for their departed loved ones to use in the afterlife!! Sometimes, they will burn things like a paper house, car, mobile phone etc also for use in the afterlife!! That's what the big oven would be for!!
