Al Jahili Park & Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque
Nice place to seat and walk in winter, when you have fresh wind and air. From end of February my favorite place in this day weather is very good.
One of my favorite parks in Al Ain. Every Friday with my family we are coming here to enjoy a beautiful view.
Nice clean environment for family gets together on weekends and weekdays. parking free only on Sunday.
This park helps to appease the brains need for green. A great place to picnic or observe families from all over the world picnic and play.
I saw it before Maintenace - it was nice - big area- nice playground - willing to re-visit it after the Maintenace.
Refreshing environment and great place to do exercises, walking or get together, now in February 2024, and Flower festal event, great place with fountains, trees, birds🤗🤗🤗, really love this place...
Spacious and well-kept park. A Starbucks is walking distance away . Families and friends gather for picnics and others exercise daily to stay fit and enjoy being outdoors.
Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque
Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque (Arabic: مَسْجِد ٱلشَّيْخ خَلِيْفَة بِن زَايِد آل نَهْيَان, romanized: Masjid Ash-Shaykh Khalīfah Bin Zāyid Al Nahyān), also known as "Al Ain Grand Mosque",[2] "Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Grand Mosque", or simply the "Sheikh Khalifa Mosque" (Arabic: مَسْجِد ٱلشَّيْخ خَلِيْفَة, romanized: Masjid Ash-Shaykh Khalīfah),[4][5][6] is the largest mosque in the city of Al Ain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and one of the largest mosques in the United Arab Emirates, open to the public since 12 April 2021. It is named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates from November 2004 until his death in May 2022.[1][3]
    History
Construction of the mosque was awarded to Arabian Construction Company for AED 600 million.[9] It started in December 2013,[1] and was initially scheduled for completion in 2016.[3] Formerly, the biggest mosque in use in the city was that of Shaikhah Salamah,[10] mother of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the father of Sheikh Khalifa.[11]
Nearby, a 1000-year-old mosque dated to the Islamic Golden Age, besides other remains relevant to the region's history, was unearthed in September 2018. Its age may make it the oldest mosque in the country.[12][13]
After opening in 2021, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, offered prayers on 13 May.[7][8]

The built-up area of the mosque is meant to occupy an area of 15,684 m2 (168,820 sq ft), with the total area of the mosque being 256,680 m2 (2,762,900 sq ft).[14] With an indoor capacity of 6,433 worshippers, and outdoor capacity of 14,029, its total capacity would be over 20,000. It has 4 minarets which are meant to measure about 60 m (200 ft) high.[1] The 4 minarets, each measuring 60 m (200 ft) high, are inspired by the Great Mosque of Samarra. Additionally, there is an arcade which connects the various parts of the mosque and rims the yard with an area of 7,660 m2 (82,500 sq ft), which was inspired by Andalusian and Umayyad architecture.[14]
    Dome
The main feature of the mosque is a huge dome, the largest of its kind in the country,[14] covering the main prayer-hall.[3] The dome is expected to have an interior height of 31.3 m (103 ft), interior diameter of 75 m (246 ft), exterior diameter of 86 m (282 ft),[1] and total area of 4,117 m2 (44,320 sq ft). The dome, the largest of its kind in the country, is adorned with verses from the Quran.[14]
