There will be handheld, one heavily relying on MS AI efforts. Microsoft is working on all fronts to push AI. Copilot has already been announced to be replacing Google Assistant on LG and Samsung TVs along with other MS tech being integrated into TVs. I expect as part of this move MS will similarly partner with LG and others for handhelds. One thing of note: I don't think that wish of buy a physical copy and get a digital will be a thing because that is what MS tried to do with the Xbox One and that got a lot of push back and doing so would still require some type of similar digital rights protection. Besides, physical is pretty much done as a delivery media for gaming in general (minus Nintendo at least for now). On Xbox physical represents next to nothing in sales (the platform is heading towards 90% of sales is digital on Xbox) and it pretty much zero on PC. The latest rumor for PS6 is that Sony may not even offer a drive at all.
MS/Xbox should do a handheld device and have a docking station for it, that is like a compact PC that you can stick it in and charge your handheld, and can get you to 60 fps while its docked and also bring it up on your TV, (think of it like how the N-Switch is). Xbox does that, that will put them out in front of PS then PS will be playing catch up for years and PS will drop the ball again like they always do.
The PC price with 4090 / 7800 etc etc will go down alot soon.. But I guess when this years stuff start to release everyone wants the 5090/8800 anyway.. 😅

I love my OG ROG Ally but it’s only power efficient if I can play the game through the cloud. It eats through the battery way too fast if you can’t run it in low power mode
The only way an Xbox handheld makes sense is if it's a literal native Xbox in the form of a handheld. We don't need another handheld that can remote play off the Xbox console, because smartphones can already do it and so can pc handhelds.
I hope Xbox’s handheld docks to TV and has Bluetooth for controller also I hope it works with steam if so if will be the only thing console players need
The physical games thing and the "you will own nothing and be happy"... You own exactly as much of the game you purchased regardless if its a digital copy or a physical copy... The days when you bought a disc with the full game on it with no downloads needed to play said game are gone my dudes.. The difference is that you cant out a digital copy in the bookshelf and that its much better for the enviroment..
The main difference a physical copy is a "legal copyrighted" copy of a game and digital download copies aren't. That is the one who have the copyrights made a physical copy so you can resell them.
TL:DR After this next generation, I don't think we'll see another worthwhile graphical jump for a while. The graphical improvements in gaming gen over gen are hitting a plateau. The power/money vs output to push things further will start to get to a point where people will prefer paying $400 for something like a Switch 2, vs a $1k "next gen" console. That's why they're trying to overload our brains with AI generated frames, because actually trying to rasterize 4k at 120 fps would cost more than most people would want to spend. Long story short, I agree. Stuff like frame gen is less noticeable on a small display, and the tech would make developing a handheld console a lot cheaper.
Ok... mmm, I've seen the Xbox Prime leaks and the "photos" are a awesome looking console. Looks like something straight out of Transformers even and i love it! I can only hope it's real. But i would also love a real Xbox handheld also shoot I would buy both twice even. One of each for myself and another for my Daughters. I believe that the future of Xbox will be freaking Magical! Take my money now Xbox, please!
Xbox is just more interesting for the future in my opinion. They already have working emulators for backward compatibility. Why not just make it so you can emulate your Xbox digital library on an XboxOS/Windows hybrid? If Microsoft pulls this off, it will completely disrupt the industry. The idea of Sony trying to have exclusives would be laughable. Steam and MS can completely disrupt the industry.
At this point the only developer worth buying physical games from is Nintendo because most of their first party titles will play perfectly fine on day one without patches or additional downloaded installation being necessary. The complete game is on the cartridge. Other companies, though? I don't know why you'd bother anymore.
I think this is a new console AND and new handheld device. It feels like the ABK deal was a deal breaker for Xbox and now when Microsoft owns ABK and all other game studios the owns they are goibg ALL-IN in gaming.. Sarah Bond teased about a new console and Phil teased about a new handheld... I might be wrong ofcourse but my guess is just as good as anyones. And who knows, I might even be right.....
I hate rumors, leaks, insider info, etc. But i will say this if Microsoft puts out a windows based steam deck competitor that can do everything steam deck can do but has windows for the OS? I may trade in my steam deck to get it. Just have to wait & see.
So do you believe that the next gen console would be a handheld unit only then Alex? Because if so that definitely would be the end of the brand. I would love if they released both a new home console and a handheld at the same time but woth how poorly they have been doing in the console space and how poorly they treat their console users I can't see them doubling up.
To be honest the next Gen console is just going to be a relatively 2 to 3 year old PC in a plastic box. The arcitecture of Consoles are basically old PC's so now they are going to work out how to put either 2 year old or try lower current PC hardware into a console shaped plastic box, and call it next gen. (thats my personal opinion) but i suspect thats the way it is.
You know, the biggest flex and holy crap would be if PlayStation decided to make only Linux binaries for their games moving forward if Xbox does that. Likely they would cut their nose off to spite their face, in that they would pull from the PC ecosystem in totality, but I think it would be funny if Linux and Valve SteamOS were the only place to play Sony exlcuisve titles on PC.
How is Xbox gonna figure out the revenue split on steam if a game is purchased on an Xbox on the steam app!? They can't both take 30% and I don't see valve taking less
I think I would buy a new Xbox but I don't need to have a handheld. I like my lg cx. I don't see the Netflix problem with it. of course I rarely watch Netflix.
The only thing I dont like with this xbox everywhere thing is that cloud streaming isn't available in all countries especially where I live ...so when I try to boot up cloud on my gamepass I'm greeted with a huge error message....fix this and bring cloud world wide and ill buy into the vision
Next generation console >hold 3 games instead of 2 >still wont display 4k >still wont hit 60 frames >still have load times like that of the PS1 I cant understand people who buy consoles still. Imagine paying 70% the cost of a PC just to get a lesser experience on every single front from visuals to control input to modding ability. Oh and you have to pay for the privilege to use the internet youre already paying for. Wild.
An Xbox handheld would shake-up the market, for darn sure. Incentivize Nintendo to not rest on its laurels and keep cranking out great games to increase its market value. Or perhaps get 'em to release games for PC and _really_ let the money flow in.
Is the next gen Xbox going to become the new switch 2, where we will constantly hear "leaks" from "insiders" every 4 months for the next 3 or 4 years until one day they will finally be accurate? 😂
For years, people singled out Xbox & MS as the ones who would kill physical media, but in reality, they're also the ones best preserving digital libraries & backwards compatibility (in the console space). If anyone is going to usher in all digital & set the precedent for the entire industry, it's not going to be the 3rd place/lowest market share company. Sony is at the top & pushing digital media just as much as MS, only without all the effort in past games preservation. Nintendo announced Switch 2 will be backwards compatible, but most of their historic catalog is only available to stream through NSO not accessible at all. There's also no guarantee their old games will ever receive enhancements like BC Xbox games from the OG XB, 360 & XB1. Hopefully, all these companies will start putting in more effort to be more like Steam & have most of their libraries work independent of future hardware.
Seriously, Xbox Play Anywhere needs to be pushed more next-gen. Something that Microsoft needs to work on. In its current state, Xbox Play Anywhere has a small number of publishers signed up for it. Sega, Namco Bandi and Capcom games are kind of there. Sometimes they don't have their own games on the service, which is dumb imo. It needs to be across the board. I think Call of Duty is the more recent addition to the service. It's exactly what you described. Buy a digital game on Xbox, get the PC version free, and your saves cross over.
If MS makes an Xbox handheld they will be fighting an uphill battle against the Steam Deck. The Steam Deck by far has been the most successful handheld that isn't the Switch, but in terms of units shipped (not even sold) is probably is under 10 million units. If MS makes their own handheld, but in a closed off ecosystem, which the Steam Deck doesn't have, then it will just look worse by all accounts unless MS is willing to sell at a massive loss per unit to undercut their competition.
Xbox's handheld will be the awesome but I have a feeling they will not launch it at the same time as the full console. It took Microsoft 6 years to develop a phone from the idea to the product on shelves. They only recently stated they are prototyping and exploring mobile. They would want to have hardware standing out from the Switch 2, at a similar price. So they wouldn't launch too close to that. And we all know that Sony rushes their products out half baked and then abandons them like the PSVR, PSVR2, Vita, and now Portal. They will probably release their me too product before Xbox gets around to it.
Why would you need track pads when it has a touch screen? I would rather more optimized comfortable controller than taking on touch pads that make the d pad and face buttons have to be on weird spots... This is why I have a Rog Ally over a steam deck. ROG is comfortable to hold

@smidlee7747 ask sony if you may resell your physical games...
Hey Alex.. will you create video analysis of the new graphic cards and processors?
Oh. I'm a wait and seer to see if the rumors are true
I wonder what an Xbox handheld could do different then an rog ally, or steamdeck...because you can do all these things on an rog ally
AGREED.. it could have STEAM too. even if it doesn't I AM EXCITED.. i LOVE to keep my ALIENWARE (PC) ANDD to have a NEW SERIES INFINITY XBOX + xsx.
With electric bills on insane price hike, yes 100% a handheld.
Ok... mmm, I've seen the Xbox Prime leaks and the "photos" are a awesome looking console.
I think it’ll be both a handheld and a console and I think they are going nvidia like the 360.
The Xbox already does the Dev mode.
Will be like switch and steam deck combined im predicting at highest framerate
I think this is a new console AND and new handheld device.
It feels like the ABK deal was a deal breaker for Xbox and now when Microsoft owns ABK and all other game studios the owns they are goibg ALL-IN in gaming..
Sarah Bond teased about a new console and Phil teased about a new handheld...
I might be wrong ofcourse but my guess is just as good as anyones.
And who knows, I might even be right.....
Where's Dreamcast guys dental Port beg video, thanking his fans?
You have got an Xbox though! The special edition “Paris Lilly 16” Edition” 😏
Come on boys. I heard there are pirate buddies 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
LG and Xbox just made a deal for Xbox app will make LG TV's an Xbox! This is where they are heading (cloud gaming) the consoles are secondary.
The only thing I dont like with this xbox everywhere thing is that cloud streaming isn't available in all countries especially where I live ...so when I try to boot up cloud on my gamepass I'm greeted with a huge error message....fix this and bring cloud world wide and ill buy into the vision
Next generation console
>hold 3 games instead of 2
>still wont display 4k
>still wont hit 60 frames
>still have load times like that of the PS1
I cant understand people who buy consoles still. Imagine paying 70% the cost of a PC just to get a lesser experience on every single front from visuals to control input to modding ability.
Oh and you have to pay for the privilege to use the internet youre already paying for. Wild.
That's honestly baffling that the series x and PS5 will be 6 years old next year.
2026 is xbox's 25 anniversary. So i can see something big for them that year
An Xbox handheld would shake-up the market, for darn sure. Incentivize Nintendo to not rest on its laurels and keep cranking out great games to increase its market value. Or perhaps get 'em to release games for PC and _really_ let the money flow in.
Okay so there isn't news of a Microsoft handheld. It's just something you want to see.
Is the next gen Xbox going to become the new switch 2, where we will constantly hear "leaks" from "insiders" every 4 months for the next 3 or 4 years until one day they will finally be accurate? 😂
Wouldn't it be cool if Xbox released their handheld that could play Halo that was powered by Strix Halo chips? Hmmm
So is the next gen going with handheld and console. No X/S skews.
Ok, so hot take, i dont think MS should make a handheld device.
Not if you can't play it on your tv as well
For years, people singled out Xbox & MS as the ones who would kill physical media, but in reality, they're also the ones best preserving digital libraries & backwards compatibility (in the console space).
The most likely scenario is a handheld. But then again I'm still waiting on that new controller that was leaked. It's probably all cap
hey Alex, Couple of Fools just roasted Reforge Gaming. It was a cook off. 😅
Just waiting for Alex to lose his mind on the marketing of the rtx 5070 lol.
At this point, the next Xbox should have Steam OS... Imagine?
Please give us a switch 2 release date
ALEX WILL EAT ZE BUGS!!
Xbox 💪💪💪💪💯💚
One console to rule them all
I wonder what MBG thinks of this video? 🤔
I’m going to build a PC. I’d rather pick out my ball hair than ever buy another console
Xbox handheld with gamepass and steam integration.
When gaming companies are putting out more hardware than games
Xbox seems to be dropping a lot of games sony and Nintendo not so much atleast for first party offerings
Anything other than new Halo or Gears games being launch titles for the next Xbox console is nothing short of stupid. It’s literally Halos 25th Anniversary in 2026! How could it not be a launch title if games are currently being developed
The end of the year is not "soon"
You must be under 25... Trust me, the end of the year is soon 😂
