Hey sika just a question if we encounter one of these “exp” Rp hosts like in my story should we report them to the devs or just leave I would like to know in case I encounter one again
Once got denied for having a green icewing who was non binary, they claimed they weren’t homophobic and that it wasn’t realistic. There’s literally gay dragons in this series
This is SUCH a huge issue, and I’ve even had my own roleplays hijacked by “exp” players that drove away other roleplayers. In a game about dragons. I think we all need to touch some grass
frankly if i host a rp and some "exp" player tries to hijack it i warn once and then kick them to the void, if someones "inexp" you help them learn, if someones gonna be a toxic elitist you kick their keester to the void to prevent them from killing the rp for others, some things you cant fix, its harsh, but at the end of the day, the HOST is the host, not some other person who gets invited into a rp and thinks they own it
I did host “exp roleplays” a lot, but even if people were considered “inexperienced” I would still allow them to join. I only required auditions for important roles but also wasn’t too picky about it, and definitely wasn’t rude to people either
3:37 I can totally feel this part. I started playing WoF Roblox about 4-5 years ago and it was definitely much more welcoming/enjoyable. Nowadays I barely feel like even playing anymore. This whole division thing really does suck. I’m personally a sort of experienced RPer but I don’t use any of the fancy text or anything, meaning some people might believe I’m inexp. I really hope this issue gets better for the sake of the WoF community as a whole.
Hey idk if any of these rps are in the list yet but here are a few of my all time favorite rps! Murder mystery- like that one game. I think it’s called mafia but don’t take my word for it. A creature traps (random number) 10 dragons together. 7 innocents, one medic, one detective, and one vessel. Every night when everyone goes to sleep, the vessel kills one dragon. The detective must figure out who the vessel is before night (random number) 5. Medics can revive up to 2 dragons in all each game. Do note all permissions must be active. Extra roles: Paranoid- overly scared, fearful of everything. If a day passes without anyone accused of being the vessel, the paranoid goes crazy and joins the vessels side. Insomniac- you just can’t seem to sleep. You only sleep every other turn and will be notified beforehand if someone close to you is to be killed. You can jump in to save them at the cost of your own life. Vengeful- if anyone close to you dies, you have a chance to strike whoever you suspect the killer to be the following night. Mindreader- can check one dragon each game to see if they are a vessel or not. Pirate!- This rp was a compromise we made. X wanted to do dod and Y wanted to do thieves, so I made this. Dod for some unknown prophecy are kidnapped and taken on a pirate ship! …that’s it. Dods may escape. In my rp, the dods ended up befriending one of the pirates, let’s call her E. E killed the captain, stole his keys, and released the dragonets. The pirates gave chase and E sacrificed herself to save the dods, telling them to remember her. It’s a lot funnier than it sounds! Apocalypse!- I adore apocalypse rps. Something about its structure is so charming to me. Start however you’d like. I’ve been in ones where everyone was in jail and had to escape before the zombies got in, one where everything was flooded and left very little space to do anything but fly (the zombies there were aquatic predators and it was so cool), one where it was a washed up rp and everyone ended up on a zombie-infected island, the options are limitless! The general consensus is that survivors have to live against zombies until they all die out or they find a cure. Sidenote but these are my favorite. Hangout- just chill with a bunch of new people. Show off your oc, tell stories of past rps or the backstories of your ocs, have someone to help flesh out your character, or make a new one. Cabin- just a cabin in the snow where everyone goes to relax, unwind, or warm up. Get a cup of tea and socialize with everyone else at the cabin. Wingery- literally just be wholesome with a bunch of dragonets and hatchlings in the wingery. Bonus points if someone(s) plays as a caretaker. Training- train new dragonets for the army. Tell them your secret tricks to winning battles and how to properly hold a spear. Kingdom Scarlet-style. Everybody hates the monarch. The generals. The prisoners. Normal citizens. Overthrow the king/queen and any heirs they may have. Elect someone new to take the thrown. Vive la revolution! Bonus points if the monarchs are animi. Haunted camp/ hunted- normal dragons vs monsters. Pretty simple. The monsters ambush and try to kill the dragons. The dragons try to get rid of the monsters.
As an “experienced” roleplayer, I do understand the frustration with newer players. They don’t understand the things that we do, so it can be annoying to try to explain things to them. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. I do my best to explain the basics to new players, mostly just differentiating between what’s spoken by the character, what’s spoken by the player, and the character actions. If they can understand that, they’ll develop into an “experienced” roleplayer on their own.
I heavily agree on the character design part of the video. Every time I make a character I like, I join in-game to see if I can get lore ideas for my oc and bio. But all I see is even more beautiful characters that gets me frustrated that I didn't have the ability to make my oc more interesting. It's a toxic trait that I should get over, and just role play, but the amount of times I've seen people judge other people because of their characters… it's just heartbreaking to see. The expectations for a beautiful oc is it has to be unique (literally impossible for me) and it has to have unique colors that blend with each other naturally (it's possible for me, but very hard since I have to note down the colors). Long story short, I find it hard to make a character because it isn't prettier like everyone else's. I get frustrated, and delete the character. Not touching the idea ever again. -------------------------------------- I agree with the thing that "they also get judge on the way they type". I never use symbols. What I mean by symbols is "-", "*", or "~" or anything else. I don't use any symbols at all since it takes up time. Okay, here's a quick but not so quick story: I joined this, well, hosting thing that a host was teaching inexp players how to role play. A tip that they said is, I quote on quote: "How to know if a player is inexp: they use the symbol "*"" I just stayed silent. It wasn't a big deal back then, but I thought it was very disappointing. I also have grammar errors which can be extremely embarrassing and make me want to cringe and bang my head against the wall. But the player reassures me by saying it's alright which makes me feel a little bit better but I'm still cringing 😭- -------------------------------------- I also have this toxic trait that I'm scared of extremely exp pc player SkyWings that always says "pookie" to their friend 👍🏻 Uh anyways that's it on my opinions on exp things ^^
The going into a game and finding someone with a better morph than you is SO REAL, I've never deleted any OCs/Morphs because I try and see the positives of it, but I'm always jealous of other's peoples pretty designs
@@Bees_Animations so true. And they're most commonly located in the kingdom rps so I try to avoid kingdom rps since those types of players always and I mean always heavily intimidate me 💀
Well. I may be exp, ut I passive. So. To get a good fade. All I can say is keep practising. Eventually you'll find a fade that works for you. It's not easy for us either. Back in my day. Fades wasallthegljtz and glam. Nkw everytime I see someone's fade that's better than mine. I compliment them with something like "wow, that fades outstanding" then I would go on to question their technique, and I myself would self trach myself to get the fade right. If have any questions. Just politely ask for advice. I'm sure the person you're admired by will give you so,e techniques. Just remember. If someone ever makes you feel down. Always say "I may be an unexperienced person, but I looking for tips." They'll immediately change the subject to something you can understand. A d if not. Look for someone else. Most players here show off their skills but just ask them. Tell them hkw they did theirs and, follow along
This has happened in Warrior Cats : Ultimate Edition as well. The staff has stated that "splitting players between inexp and exp" is against the rules, as it creates a divide between the two groups. Me personally when I started playing WCUE, I was such a troll and would go around basically being annoying, but 13 year old me didn't understand anything. Even after I read the books, I had to switch *game* just to be able to role-play with a more friendly community (the game was Horse World) As someone who studies sociology, this division honestly makes sense. People want to interact with people of similar traits, maybe bios, maybe morphs/ocs, but they don't take into consideration the factors that may affect someone's ability *to make/meet* these "requirements" they've set up. Also, "inexp" people are unfairly labelled as "troublemakers" or a "nuisance", and if they are constantly treated like this then YES, they are going to feel like that is who they are - which is why some people have just straight up turned *away* from certain roleplaying games (Like WCUE - as I've seen some content creators say the fandom is too toxic) I've always treated other, "less experienced" players with kindness and respect, and me personally I think it's really sweet when someone comes up to me asking for help - it makes me think I'm an approachable person (in-game) and it's annoying to see some people just downright be disrespectful. But uhh yeah, long story short, I think everyone should be treated equally, and people can't grow without support and *mild* criticism. I believe about what you proposed about "literate" and "semi-literate" as I've seen a lot of long-term roleplays (on discord - specifically WCUE) label their roleplays as "literate". This honestly makes sense as I spend like 10 MINUTES on 1 simple oc bio JUST TO MAKE IT LOOK GOOD. Generally I think people can see the divide, I just believe that being disrespectful and un-approachable is unhealthy and all players should be treated with kindness (although if you ask me, I actually haven't seen "inexperienced" players be harassed or anything, but I know it's a real issue)
Exactly. It has been sad to see the community legitimately sad to see the game feel less colorful and diverse as everyone is scared into the idea of seeming “exp.” Since I started making videos on this game in May, I’ve seen so many cool and interesting OCs that once existed in this game fade away. I’m not much of a role player myself, but I’ve seen this problem get worse, and it’s seriously distressing.
I really don’t like what’s been happening. I’m gonna try to host more general (like loose concept) RPs to allow everyone in so they can all have fun. It really sucks when people try to put other people down for simply being new.
I was once an auditioner for an exp rp, it was a kingdom one and someone didnt know what an audition was so i kindly tried to teach them how to audition but because i wasnt host or anything i had to decline their aud when they typed it. Im going to host an rp im gonna have be for everyone of any age. i could try and help out the new people with the roles and what the rp is, new roleplayers and people who rp but have never done that exact rp. A random note but i always see someone who isnt too good with english hanging around wofb (or at least i think its one person) and they try their best, ive seen em talk to someone who knows their language
YES! THANK YOU for making a video about this. While I’ve never really been turned down from a roleplay, (I was too scared of being judged) I was one of the people who was hurt by this ‘division’ complex. Not on WOF Roblox, but from a different game abbreviated as WCUE, though I do have a small history of it with WOF Roblox. When I first joined WCUE back in 2021, I saw people hate on inexperienced roleplayers, both on YT and in-game, often calling them ‘Lunas’. Of course, I was also inexperienced, so I created more ‘detailed’ morphs and learned roleplay etiquette to become more experienced. There was a badge in said game labeled ‘beta tester’. I didn’t join during beta/paid access and most of these ‘anti-Lunas’ had the badge, so I berated myself CONSTANTLY for not discovering and playing the game during beta testing. Sooner or later the hate got to me, and I began tweaking over not having the best morphs, not having the best roleplaying skills, AND not having the beta tester badge. The more ‘anti-Lunas’ I saw online, the more self-loathing I became. This entire phase lasted for about a year, ending in late 2022. During this phase, I discovered WOF Roblox back when it was early access. I noticed that it was early access, so I bought it because I wanted to get the ‘Early Access’ badge in order to not be left out and considered inexperienced. And ONLY because of that. Nowadays, I actually play the game, though I don’t roleplay most of the time. Apparently, it took little old me 2-3 years to realize that those silly badges don’t determine my worth in those communities. XD This division complex hurt me, and it hurts others as well. Please, be kind towards new players and think before you leave a god damn comment online. This may sound cheesy, but I actually mean it. (lol sorry for my super edgy vent i just needed to share this)
now, I’ve been considered ‘exp’ by my friends and fellow players. I’ve never been turned down because of my bios, names, and morphs. But, I must admit, I started playing wof a couple days after the silkwing was released. (I thinnnk?) and back then, I was a kid, I hadn’t even read the series. I had the classic rainbow rainwing, and everything. But, people never turned me down, because the community was so much nicer back then! Now, the game is free, and I still love it with all my new Oc’s, and my new friends. But there’s still so many people criticizing unexperienced people, even sometimes I take part in this. Now I’d never outright say anything to somebody, but I do often snicker with my friends whilst in a call with them. Now what led me to not always feel comfortable around the ‘unexp’ is because they don’t know boundaries (from my experiences). Especially verbal. When I attempt to include them, they will often shove themselves next to me, and once the rp starts, if I have a oc that has a snappy attitude, then they get upset when that oc insults their oc. I understand the ‘exp’ people are toxic, but maybe the ‘unexp’ people should learn to respect others a little more too.
Once, i was auditioning for an Aud, and they said i failed, but when i asked why they said it was because i Roleplayed using * * instead of something like ~| |~ , I think its stupid that just because i didn’t use fancy charecters when roleplaying means im Inexp
this is actually insane how does it make a difference whether you use ¥€_§|~|§_€¥ she walked towards the SeaWing ¥€_§|~|§_€¥ or * she walked towards the SeaWing *
The biggest issue imo abt "experience" is that its subjective, the bar varies wildly based on who is deciding it, (and ironically the ones demanding experience are usually the ones who leave the rp immediately or are "inexp" themselves and the rp quickly devolves into chaotic nonsense, but i digress...) I run sherpas in co op games like destiny and dark souls etc, so i know very well that not everyone is perfect 100% of the time, we were all noobs at some point in literally everything, so i can agree that ppl wont get better if you shun them or dont help them get used to a new concept like rps. There are times in "exp only" rps where i even private chat new players, ones that are feeling overwhelmed by the expectations of the host, or ones who arent as good at auditions and help them work on an audition, asking abt their oc, helping them figure out how their oc would respond in (insert scenario here) etc. yes, some may consider it "cheating" but frankly this audition stuff is silly to begin with, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And as for the "not good at grammar/english" etc issue: these ppl need to remember the roblox filter and autocorrect arent exactly the most reliable mechanics around 80% of the time, i make grammar mistakes a LOT in wofb (i mean just look at this mess of grammatical errors) Plus, at the end of the day, ITS ROBLOX, its DESIGNED around kids, so of COURSE younger kids will want to play it, trying to act like everyone needs to be experienced in the same level you are is frankly the very definition of ironic. Instead of demanding exp, maybe try helping them learn to rp.
i’m a person of two languages, be it Italian, and I learned English. I used to join Rps 24/7 or every chance I got. Back when the game was Paid Access, I had just finished my English lessons, and my grammar and punctuation use were still a WIP, but apparently some folks don’t find that as an excuse for “RP Auditions” this was before I had touched on the topic of writing, so I did not exactly have a good idea of Roleplay tactics. I found it quite rude, so all of the rps I have hosted are open to everyone. I certainly find it discouraging that there are people who actually do this. I come back to the game everyday because I know that there are new people that are new people waiting to have a friendly chat. but I shudder when I see these people making others Audition. I think I remember a person having people answer a very difficult question about the books, that I myself don’t even know.
Im just gonna say right off the bat; I’m disabled. I type slow, but I’m still experienced in roleplay. People tell me that I’m inexperienced, when in reality it exhausts me to type out every single little thing I do in rp. You shouldn’t hate on someone’s typing speed. I have unfortunately experienced a lot of hatred from other’s, and I’m hoping that you understand that while people may type slow, it doesn’t make them any less experienced and worthy to rp.
And its not just wof beta either :( even others games such as cos have a bunch of those players, once i was playing in cos a player asked me if i can help them get a creature, i said sure then when i typed something else i misspelled some letters wrong and a different player started being rude and asking for my age, so i just left. Thank you sika for making this video.
There was once when i tried joined this icewing rp but they said i was “inexperienced” as i asked another rp what was aud when i went back they said u r so inexperienced and ask me to * myself . I sadly forgot their user but it really affected me.
I feel like the biggest problem with this is the way people turn "inexperienced" players away. Multiple times I've seen hosts harshly telling the players to leave. I always try my best to explain kindly why they can't join if I host a bigger more difficult roleplay which isn't often. Be kind to other players please and if you can't include them in your roleplay, atleast help them find a more suitable one so they can still play with someone else.
Im glad the word is being spread about this. I made a video and it received well but wish more would speak out about this since I see so many people who host role-plays and turn down those who people consider "Un/ In experienced' just for their character and bio. I am a shy person even with a platform and tent stop stutter due to me not often speaking to people which some people and kids can relate, and to point out what you said here; many people don't like to type long sentences or can't type well due to learning English or grammar and even sometimes Dyslexia. I love WOF and the game, but hate how many people is see get turned down, and even sad that most of the people that get turned down are little kids. Roleplay is the reason why my OCs exists and I try to help those who are new get ideas and world building so they get an idea and so they don't get rejected like my first day on the game. Im glad this video is made, thank you.
Thank you for making this video Sika ❤ I have dyslexia and I type slower than "exp" players and I was kinda teased for it. hopefully ur vid reaches the ones who need to learn the respect we need to enjoy a roleplay game ^^
I honestly agree that this is a big issue. From my experience when I first joined around 2021, I didn’t know how to roleplay, change my name or bio, or even change my how my morph looked. (I did read most of the books though) A lot of people were nice to me, but some didn’t even give me a chance when I would ask to rp. Even though that was years ago, the issue has just gotten worse. Whenever I host rps, I usually would prefer someone who can handle a role (like a Queen for example) without getting overwhelmed like I was when I first started playing. I still let any new players have any roles that are open, but I let them know so I understand that they are fine with it. I do find it bad when new players are completely turned down completely for any role plays for being “unexp”. In conclusion, I have seen this problem many times and I hope that more people in the community can change how they think about “unexp” or new players.
I remember when I first joined the community and had no idea how to roleplay. My first RP was a ship rp and when I told them I had no idea how to roleplay, and the host helped me out and taught me how to roleplay. That is what kept me playing the game four years ago. Ever since then, I’ve been trying to teach others the basics of roleplaying (just how to differentiate actions for speech, how to respond to someone’s actions, etc. I think I’m going to make a video where I talk about that, and what you can do to help new role players instead of just turning them away. As you said, everyone starts somewhere. A good community helps to build good role players, and a good community helps everyone have fun. The goal of roleplaying isn’t to write an intricate story, but rather to have fun. If people are being turned away from the fun and just being pressured to live up to someone’s strict style and standards, then roleplaying just becomes stressful and hard. So, be inclusive! Try to host more broad roleplays with a basic story line to help people learn as they go. (Family RPs, Ship RPs, Steal the treasure RPs, fashion show RPs, etc) This is very fun especially for newer role players because these types of concepts are easier to pick up on! If someone doesn’t know what something means, teach them how! And remember, just because someone doesn’t speak like +{He walked along the sandy beach, the soft sand sliding between his talons by the waves}+ and does not have fades on their OC does not mean they don’t know what they are doing. Give people a chance, and if someone asks for help, help them out! Only kick people from a roleplay of they are actively trolling and ACTIVELY TRYING to ruin the roleplay for everyone else. (Like spamming *kills* without stopping) Everyone has to start somewhere, and the best thing you can do it teach them how and be welcoming.
Ive played WOF since it released, i hate to see what the games become. i feel like you should make a ingame gamer tag of some sort that shows if players have played the game longer if people want more mature roleplays, and make the rules around allowing new players into rps and not harrassing them a bit more strict
I’ve never been turned down in these rps, but have some secondhand experience and a slight rant regarding aud/exp rps. “Exp” rp’s can be genuinely much more boring compared to non-“exp” rp, after auditions and etc, you have to be lucky; “exp’s” rp tend to be more duo based than others, many times have I joined these rp and end up being ignored by others because they have a duo or such. Its either you socialize during the waiting process, or not. And, if you’re like many shy people, like myself, its harder to get out your comfort zone and talk. People can say its an in general problem or they don’t have to talk to other people in character but it’s rather better to explore character relations than with someone you know. It makes the rp more fulfilling than sitting in one spot doing nothing rather than just talking, though this is my experience and opinion. You’re more than welcome to disagree with me. ----- Now related to the topic, I’ve seen secondhand how “unexp” just get screamed out, I remember being in an rp where a skywing wanted to be leader. A few minutes later, when they didn’t fit the “requirement”, people started to scream at them. Screaming horrible stuff that shouldn’t be said, and when they brought it up to the host, the host entirely disregarded them. Its was heartbreaking how someone could let people get away with things like that, they are exploring dragon games just like anyone else when they were younger. Other times, I’ve seen people ask the rp and when they realize that the host is unexp, they basically wish them to fail.
Thank goodness! I began WoF as a player in Early Access (I started playing before I even read the books) and have watched the game progress and advance in so many exciting ways to the current beta version. But I DO seem to be left out of more and more roleplays and just not starting any because there are usually already roleplays going on that involve half the server or just no one wants to talk to me and it’s made the game very boring and thus I haven’t played it in a while. I’d like it to be exciting again and have many roleplays! I’m so glad you’ve noticed this and I hope we all help improve the experience so no one else feels left out again! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I find it disgusting how people are treating the "unexp", sure they may like "exp roleplays", but that does not mean that you can make fun of or be rude about someone's roleplaying skills, you don't know what challenges these people are facing in life. just a simple act of kindness can change someone's day - and even being rude, it is not acceptable. I fear to roleplay because I am afraid people are going to make fun of my grammar or how I like to rp, so I do not roleplay anymore. I am just so uncomfortable about rping by this fact. Anyways, this needs to change, if you find someone who is like `wHaT iS aN aUd?` and the host is screaming at them, telling them to leave, I recommend you should stick up for the person and report the host immediately. Isn't one of the rules like `Be respectful to everyone`? We should start that.
This is a real problem, I was just hanging out on the Cliff by the ocean talking to people but this "exp" rp drove us away even though they weren't even doing the washed up rp, And I saw them earlier driving out the younger ppl, I understand why auditions exist but it isn't fair when I see a poor player just trying to join and when they fail to get the AUD they just scream at them, it's just so sad that people get so mad just because of that, I saw a poor sewing driven away like this from a exp rp I was in, they literally were crying, I tried comforting them but they just decided to quit the game because of that, I am truly disappointed like you, I was introduced to this game 4 years ago when I was 10, it was so friendly, if only that people could just be kind like before. I try to believe in the people of this game but It's really hard to not lash out on them, just telling them why they did that, it's so disappointing to me. I am proud of the people that don't do that, it's not like I despise the ppl that are mean, I am just disappointed in them, also some weird trait I have noticed is that some exp ppl talk about some Wierd things, like uhm, diddling kids, I am so sad about that.
The inexp vs exp issues are definitely getting quite bad. It’s also not just in roleplay games as well. One time I decided I wanted to play Dandy’s World for the first time. So I read the tutorial and rules and hopped into an elevator thingy with other players in it to begin my first game. As soon as I went in they all left the lobby and ran into another elevator. It was quite dehumanizing and made me feel like I was never gonna get into the game if others didn’t want to play with me. Hopefully these types of people can learn to be kind to people who just want to learn. Because if we punish those who wish to learn with humility and loneliness then no one will want to learn, which is a really bad thing because learning new things is great!
Hi. Me and my friend are disabled. We have been turned away countless times because we struggle to type fast, spell, read, and react to the roleplay. We are both extremely experienced roleplayers, but the people who run the roleplays and auditions take us taking our time to type and spell check as “inexperienced”. What’s frustrating is that this isn’t our fault. It pissed me off, and it upsets my friend as well. A little bit of patience can go a long way. So please, don’t do these auditions and don’t turn people away for taking a hot minute to type. And yes, I agree that kids should be welcomed into the roleplays and be allowed to grow and learn and flourish.
I used to be ‘experienced’, I was there since before the silkwing, but I took a long break, and hadn’t role-played in more than two years. I forgot how. I came back to feel some nostalgia and reignite some joy, but I was turned away for being inexperienced.
Yes, I see this exp business a whole ton. They have started this weird audition things where you have to audition for a certain role, which I think is ridiculous! Before there were no auditions! You just got the role you wanted if it was open. I understand that they want to play with people who are more experienced, but it’s just cruel. And for the people who are learning English, it’s just as cruel too! Some times people will totally ignore that person because they can’t understand very well or type words right. When the game wasn’t free I think it was a little more easier to accept a new person who didn’t have much experience because there wasn’t many of them, but now that there are many, maybe it can be annoying for that person because they want it to be like it was before. I honestly have no idea why people just get the idea to treat the younger like that. Even if it is an online game you still have to set a good example. The bio stuff Is insane too. I have actually seen someone read a little kids bio and reject them from the role play. It’s horrible! Another thing I’d like to say about is the fact that fashion show rps are a little too intense. I think they are harshly criticizing the oc. Some of the people who are newer to making ocs and join fashion rps get harshly (I can’t find the word for it) but usually get a 1/10 because they don’t have any faces on the oc or the colors don’t sit well with each other. It really hurts the person and can really discourage that person from making ocs. I for one understand that feeling since I once joined a fashion show rp and they gave me a 1/10 because apparently the colors in my silk were a “eye sore”. It hurt. So I’d just like to let you know about that.
When I first saw this game, I begged to get the money to join this community. When I got the money, I was so happy! But, when I joined, I only read books 1-5. I was so excited to start playing. I made a plain oc, not knowing how to do fades or anything cool like that. But hey, I was younger so I thought it was cool. So anyways, I was so excited to start playing. I was a SeaWing. I SAS people on rocks, and it turned out to be an rp. I asked to join, but they rejected me. Because at the time, i was so young, I was crushed. I was so excited to get started playing this game, to get friends, only for it to dissolve. At first, I didn't do anything about it and asked the next Rp if I could join. They also rejected me. I think I was 8 when I started this game (now I'm 14) and I was so sad. All I wanted was to play the game and have fun with other people, but at the time, none would let me do that. Present time now, I'm an experienced person in the game. But I still remember those awful disgusting people. that's why I NEVER host exp only rps, I remember my old self getting my feelings so hurt. I allow anyone to join my rps, I respect all💜💜
I really can’t understand why you would treat someone differently just because they’re learning how to Roleplay and are finding their own style. If you push people away just because you think they are “Unexp” how would meet your standards if no one would give them a chance? In the end of the day, you’re both human beings trying to have a fun experience online. Treat people right, respect others, and I hope to all reading this that you have a good day.
Yeah, I’ve only come across the ex roleplays recently, and I didnt know what was happening. Sure, I get it, nobody wants people who power play and what not- I get it. I was one at one point, and I encountered one the other day. But they didn’t know, and so we taught them how to be a better and more balanced role player instead of shunning them! THAT is how we help people and help them feel more inclusive!
I can agree on this, it's a massive issue, I'd love to get back into playing and role playing, but I just can't find any joinable good role plays, everybody seems to judge me harshly despite my characters, and I do try to make friends, none of my friends are ever online either, I get turned away all the time by ex role players most often because of my troubles spelling (I have one working eye...). I can try join as an old oc and I'd still get turned away, or somebody would give me a hard time with an opinion I had, and then I'd get turned away, etc.. Thank you for bringing the issue to light, hopefully people get to role play and learn now things are being said about it ♡♡♡♡
Unfortunately this problem doesn't just happen in the wof game. I've also seen it happen in wcue, forgotten worlds, and in dragon's life too. I'm super glad you addressed this issue with how players have been treated. It's sad to think people are being judged just because of an entry audition that doesn't meet the host's expectations. We need to seriously be more including to others.
Personally I enjoy having a roleplay that won't die as quickly once and a while but I don't really like the auds. Sometimes it's really discouraging when I'm confident in a example I write and I only barely get in. I can't imagine how sad that has to be for a younger kid who is just trying to figure things out. although there are still many inexperienced players who harass waiting roleplays and individuals with out any reason. I'm not saying that it's everybody but it's many people. (Sorry if this doesn't make sense or comes out rude grammar and tone aren't my friends)
Thank you so much for making this video, Sika. I plan on making one as well, simply to share my experiences and awareness. While most of my characters now have the “exp” bio style, you know, the infamous tiny bios, I only have the bio like that because I feel like it suits my characters. I haven’t joined a rp in FOREVER, because pretty much every rp I see nowadays is an “Exp Kingdom rp”, and I hate doing auds. The idea of auds is stupid to me, because why are we doing this for ONE rp? How else are people supposed to GET experience in the first place if we don’t let them join? There was one rp where I was slightly less experience than I am now, and my characters didn’t have the bios they did. It was an exp rp with auds. Lucky me, I got accepted. So I’m sitting there, waiting for the rp to start, and someone walks up, and they have the tiny, “exp” bio. They ask to join, and they immediately get accepted in because, and I quote, “I can tell you’re exp because of your bio”. I seriously considered leaving that rp. I don’t really rp anymore, I mostly sit by the fire and chill, maybe chat a little with some other players.
Im technically an EXP player (I started playing after scavengers were removed) and I’ve seen people get rejected from roleplays because they do not look “EXP” enough, more times than I can count. It’s like denying someone from a job because they don’t have experience with that job. It’s understandable if you’re hosting a kingdom rp and don’t want someone who acts like they’re 8 to be a queen, especially if they haven’t read any of the books, but it doesn’t mean you tell them to just go away because they don’t have EXP. Another thing Is the morphs in this game. For some reason people associate better looking morphs with being more experienced, but that is definitely not the case. My morphs are pretty mid looking, and I’ve met some people with crazy good morphs and yet they’ve only read 1 book, or even none of them. Morphs/bios can probably even affect your chances on making it in a role play that has auditions! Speaking of auditions, auditions drive people away like crazy. I’ve even seen myself avoiding roleplays with auditions because they are annoying. Roleplays need all sorts of types of different ocs, people, personalities, etc, to thrive, have drama, and overall be interesting. If you have a role play with all exp people, relatively the same ages, similar ocs personalities wise (grumpy has been a much more common one I’ve seen recently), you get a very boring roleplays, which typically those types of people are really the only ones that make it into EXP roleplays. Yes, I have gotten frustrated with the kids on there that can be overpowered, that can be annoying, that can be pushy. What I’ve realized is that I used to be like that too, I used to be incredibly overpowered with all of my ocs, annoying, and very pushy. If all we do is constantly shove un-exp players out of our roleplays, it’s eventually going to lead to the game dying because all of the new players are basically shunned by the community. Experienced players can be overpowered too. I’ve met tons of experienced players who has insane ocs, for example, they’re a god/demon, they’re massive, and have an insane amount of abilities. Cosplayers can be rather confusing to roleplay with too! But this should not discourage you from being creative with your ocs, but what I’m getting at is experienced people are more “privileged” because as long as you have a pretty bio and morph, you can have whatever powers you want, according to most people I guess. At the end of the day, it really should not be this complicated. All anyone asks is be kinder to new players, be friendlier and more patient, and be more willing to give people a second chance. One final note. I do not enjoy roleplaying publicly on this game anymore. The community is majorly divided, I constantly see drama and arguments arise, and there’s always that judgmental snobbish feeling I get from much older experienced players (not as an insult, some people are literally just like that on here)
While I don't recall much times where I've been discriminated because of experience, seeing this rise as an issue now is just sad. The elitists bully people, label others inexp, turn exp/inexp into a negative/positive word, and wonder why there's less roleplayers or less "exp" people playing. Heck ive seen an "exp" rp turn on someone for looking new and by their terms, are "inexp." And everyone in the rp had been complaining about how the game should've stayed for robux, how annoying inexps were, etc. On the bright side though, I've seen someone hosting a gathering to help some newer players learn about the game the week the game was free, more people should do stuff like that!
After coming back to the game (and roblox in general) early this year after a 2 or 3 year long break, the amount of "experienced" roleplays I saw really rubbed me the wrong way imo. I saw a rise in players being really mean to new players and it just made me sad. I very recently saw someone just walk up to a new player and say "your morph is so bad." or something like that. Like, I don't know how you just walk up to someone and say something like that. "Exp" roleplays have turned me away from roleplaying with anyone I don't know in fear of getting insulted for not meeting the requirements they've put in place. I'd really like to roleplay with people I haven't met, but I am a very anxious person and my mind will not let me at this point in time (even if most of these exp rp hosts would consider me "experienced") I get wanting to roleplay with people the same age and experience level, but is it really that hard to be nice to people? Like you said, you don't know who is behind the 3d dragon model you're being shown on screen. It's really sad to see people being mean to others over dragons in a roblox game. Those are kind of my thoughts on it. Apologies if I don't make sense, I'm not usually a commenter.
As an “Exp” player myself, I was at first confused to what the term “Exp” or “Auds” meant. It hurt to see people get pushed away rudely due to either failing the audition process, or simply be unaware to what the term meant. Another issue is the judgement of bios. There are many players who are mobile and cannot create formal or long bios like people on PC, Desktop, etc can (unless you use the notes app). Seeing people get judged and turned away, exp roleplay or not, simply due to their bio style really is a shame to see. Although I understand the reasoning behind wanting experienced roleplays, I do think a lot of the players need to be a bit more generous and accepting to those who are new and/or unaware of these terms. Also love the video form!! Keep it up, Sika! ^^
not to mention due to the dang roblox filter constantly banning words i gave up fixing a lot of my ocs bios that got tagged when they used to be fine, some ppl dont make long bios due to this, they just cant be bothered to fight against the filter, so they keep it simple
As a ( relatively ) old player who bought the game and experienced these same things, I AGREE. Please try to be nice to people who are 'unexperienced' or newer to the game or even the concept of roleplaying. I remember when I was younger, I would get super upset when I struggled with spelling and reading, and ended up being bullied out of roleplays because of it. I suggest that if its really a big deal and if it bothers you that inexperienced players wish to join your rp, just don't play the game at all. Or, the more mature thing to do would be to help the players LEARN how to rp, or even give them helpful critique. After all, you don't know what's going on across the screen. YOU could be the reason a new WOF or just RP fan feels hurt. I think its fine to label yourself as experienced, but don't label your RP's as experienced. I hope my point was clear, just be nice in the game and everyone will be happy, man! :3
I started playing this game about 2 years ago, I struggle with spelling issues a lot if I don't have auto correct. So me playing on my pc makes 5 spelling errors in a aud (I'm also really bad with "auding") they say "sorry we don't allow UN EXP PLAYERS". The first time I joined the game there was a washed up rp and since I didn't know how to play I asked the host how to play, they showed me most of the details and 2 years later I am a very accomplished role player (still bad with auds tho). Thank you so much for making this video❤.
Although I am a "exp" player, I still feel as if all of this is ruining the games point, to roleplay. If people dont learn how to play the game "correctly" and dont learn how to be "exp" this game will lose its fans, so then people really won't be able to roleplay well without people to play. I think that a roleplay that teaches you how to role play through it would help a lot of people, although I will probably never do it myself (as I hate hosting), I urge someone to try it out :)
I joined this game in August of this year. Even though I was new. I knew how to roleplay because I was an adult when I joined. I understand all roleplays and when I saw roleplays that were a little off with users being disrespectful. I realized that older players are disrespectfully treating new players and not helping them out. Which shows that they don't take responsibility. I agree with you Freckled that these same issues have been getting worse. Certain roleplays are okay but some do get out of hand.
One time I was in a “exp” crime organization Rp bc it was new and I wanted to try it out. I was an ally to the organization and passed my audition. A few minutes late a fledgeling green seawing came up and asked to be an heir, but that role had already been taken so the little green seawing pleaded again for the role and the host outright said and I quote: “get out of my line.” And so I was shocked and asked why? They said that THE SEAWING WAS INEXPERIENCED and didn’t provide any further explanation. So I kept asking if the seawing could pick a different role. And they just left. I do hope the seawings feelings weren’t to hurt.
I just played to game in disguise to find these “exp” rps and I found few of them, (they all already started). I asked if I can join, the first one said no because they went to far into the rp, and the other is because they don’t have “room”. I can tell they just don’t want me because I joined a rp that started for a good while as a good-looking oc and yea. So i really want to help stop this.
English has rules, exceptions, rules for the exceptions and exceptions for the exceptions. You are doing amazing. Don’t let them stop you. They should be proud of you that you are learning multiple languages and being able to write a story in another language. From the comments of yours I’ve read, I couldn’t even tell that English wasn’t your first language until you said something. Even as a native speaker I still mess up sentences frequently. You’re doing better than me haha! You’re amazing, ignore those people.
I'm an older WoF fan who has little knowledge of RPing, but I feel so bad for the little kids who aren't able to have fun because some silly people make it so much harder for everyone! We need more kind people in the world, and this is a great video to show that!
I once heard someone in the game say that people who use asterisks * as a symbol when roleplaying are usually under 10 years old. And it made me mad because I do that and I'm literally a legal adult. I've been roleplaying for many years now. I have an instinctual habit of typing out long sentences when I rp, but I also use asterisks for action because what if I just don't feel like using a crap ton of fancy symbols? Using one symbol is a lot easier for me and "experience" is not at all defined by what symbols you use. I can't believe people are judging people's experience level based off SYMBOLS. Also thank you for discussing the topic of what kinds of roleplays to do. I've honestly been getting pretty bored of only seeing ship, DoD, school, kingdom, and washed up rps and I've wanted to see more variety. I haven't joined public roleplays much anymore because to me it's all the same thing. I love the idea of a market rp and I would love to see more rp variety within the game's community.
I just want a couple of opinions on this. I don’t detest the auditioning process, but there are definitely ways we can improve it. When I do encounter a player that would be labeled inexperienced, I attempt to give them tips on their auditions. I find that if they are interested in joining, they’ll often try to apply the feedback. Then again, this isn’t perfect either. Does anyone have some ideas, or other ways to try educate the new wave on how to role-play effectively?
I’ve been a fan of WoF for a decade at this point, and when I first bought the game when it was in early access (before SandWings were released) the community was so lovely and engaging. Now, I can’t even stay in the game for more than 20 minutes at a time, and even then, that time is used to make new OCs. I’ve been an “experienced” roleplayer for years now, but feel sad whenever I see people turning “inexperienced” players away. My sister is a decade younger than me and likes to play WoFB with me sometimes. Thank God she doesn’t have chat enabled because I feel like what she’d see would sadden her. She’s just a kid, and so are many of the other “inexperienced” players.
I agree that the issue of exp and non exp is something we need to nip in the bud as soon as possible. I've hosted many roleplays that have had people leave because I've let newer player join. Not to mention, most roleplays now are exp even without advertising. I'm used to shorter roleplay responses and I take a while due to the fact that I have long press on nails and it's hard to type. And I've been kicked out of a few roeplays for having too short of a bio or taking too long to respond. All in all, I hate how people forget we all used to be inexperienced kids, coming home from school looking for good roleplays to join. There are people on the other side of your screen, actual people who want to have a good time as well.
I actually like the idea of exp-only roleplays, but I can see why being too strict would become an issue. Maybe that's jus because I've been roleplaying for 3 or so years now, and would be considered "exp". I also only really do WCUE roleplays, where newer players can be far more distruptive and annoying. Mostly because they're children and children are annoying.
ah so this was the video you were making, and then we became a rainbow mud gang lol (one time i denied access to someone to an rp.. then they sent me death threats ;-;)
as a person who has a learning disability and epilepsy it made it really hard to type fast and I have a lot of spelling errors because of it!! I get told I can`t join RP`s all the time (plus I also have a full-time job so my Rping skills isn`t the best but i would like to learn more but its heard because most of the time its Exp Rp`s😓 ) and all I want to do is join WOFB and chill and relax but people who aren't Exp get treated so bad its crazy and sad!! all we want is to rp and have fun not feel awful and stupid 💔💔 I will always love WOFB it's a really good game but trying to Rp is ........sad
(I forgot to say I was around WOFB when it was still in early access the mudwing was getting remodeled and the hive silk and leafwings was still being worked on, but I wasn't on a lot because of work)
I joined the game a cup le moths ago and I am very bad at spelling (if you cant no is) and I make a a lot of mastakes and people were lathing at me or just saying stuff is a joking mater and scone that I feel like I’m am to bad to play this game and shold go to sholll for two years and speckled(idk how to spell his name so deal with that) and sometimes it autocorrect with things that I didn’t mean to say so thake you speckled for marking this vido
Honestly I stopped joining rps mostly bc of the exp business. I’m sorry you’re being rejected for something you can’t control. It’s just honestly ridiculous! No one should be hated bc they are not as “exp” as other ppl. I usually mess around or hang out with the ppl around the campfire in the arena. That’s usually were the chill ppl are (and they’re just kinder)
I think it was a school rp or something, and a new player was hosting it. We started rp and it was normal for a bit and then an "exp" person complained about how the host was unexp and tried to take over, me and the other people in the rp were telling them how it was wrong because in the end of the day, it was that persons rp, not theirs. They even refused hosting their own rp.
(I’ve said this in a community post for sika) but someone called my old morph “un-exp” which is totally unfair for one but it just proves how deep unexp and exp culture has seeped into wof beta which really sucks
I never hosted exp roleplays myself, I always allowed “inexperienced” enter in (Although if they asked for major roles I would worry how they would do as some might complain). Though in the past, I would usually be less inclusive and interact with them less until I got to know them more. I still have this problem till this day and trying to work on it. It doesn’t help that in real life I would rather sit alone than speak to friendly people I didn’t know. Again, still working on it. I have also noticed that I have strayed away from the game because everything is the same and I have grown frustrated. This video thankfully made me have the strength to play again. Great video and great message👌
The whole auditions that these people do to keep inexp people out of their roleplays has made me no longer want to join most roleplays, I have anxiety and depression so I doubt myself and don't even try, even though I've been roleplaying for over 6 years now.
Edit: IGNORE THIS COMMENT LOL I wrote it before I watched the entire video and he addressed like everything I do mostly agree, but one thing you need to also take into account, and please do hear me out (read the whole thing before replying): Some experienced players turn down inexperienced players for _valid reasons._ For example, people say you should be welcoming and let them join your roleplays, and teach them how to play and roleplay properly. But often, an experienced player doesn't want to be teaching someone, they would rather be playing with someone that has a similar skill level to them. It's not like they're always being malicious or trying to be exclusive; it's kind of like playing a sport with a complete newbie as a 10 year experienced pro. You wanna play with / against someone that matches your skill, otherwise it feels unbalanced, and can get frustrating -- for both parties. Just like a new player might _not_ want to play with a pro sometimes, because they already know how to do everything. The new player may want to learn _with_ someone rather than being taught, or feel like the pro is way better than them, which can be discouraging. /pos
I have never had this issue very much. I started the game soon after it became free and I had trouble on the flying actions, but there were people trying to help witch I was grateful for. I have expearenced being hated due to my character's bio and color so I was not really with the roleplay group when I was trying to explain my oc. That then made me uneasy about my oc and then I customized it to make it look more like their mother and father. There are many kinds of people that exist in the world, and some will call out to those in need, But I hope others will try their best to make the world a better and safer place to live in so we can avoid conflicts and keep things in peace.
This disgusts me tbh, people really need to learn that people aren't always ad experienced as others, and also, this is why i don't roleplay with other people anymore, and if i do, its just boring as watching paint dry. I only roleplay with friends, and its much more fun. Gosh i hope this problem gets resolved someday. Also, i actually get ignored from time to time in public rps which makes it even MORE boring. And honestly saddening. Now when i join WOF, i just explore, i don't join any rps at all
To be honest it's sadly the reason I retired from role-play like I still join the game and have fun but I never role-play and have to explain to people why as they keeps asking me to get over it. I respectful tell them I'm just no longer interested in role play and would rather talk to friends, fans, other content creators and we'll just have fun making designs then role-playing. I have had really bad experiences with players some who have harassed me for not keeping up when I told them my ipad at the time before I got my laptop wasn't working to well.
Yes sika is right. But some of them can be mean and selfish or a over power player! But i love helping them get more exp to help them be more exp so they could play with others and not get turned down. But…when there mean i kinda lose my temper. But i still stay calm and stop the fight, sole are just so sweet and nice. So i most of the time let them in if im in a exp rp! But host gets mad and kicks me out. I do really love exp rps but i also love when ppl learn to join them! So i help other ppl help them too!❤
This is definitely a serious issue that needs to be resolved. I don’t play much wings of fire, but once I was playing with my friend on warrior cats and she got turned down the role of leader because she couldn’t answer some silly questions correct. Another time I was in line for a wof rp and I had to leave the line because I saw it was a exp rp, and I knew I wasn’t exp at the time. If you are going to host a rp, I recommend you host it to everyone, you will likely get more people, and it will be more successful. Overall, this has probably become quite distressing to younger players when they are denied access to a rp bc they are ‘inexp’. Honestly, this ‘exp’ and ‘inexp’ thing is stupid, and I’m glad you talked about it. Hopefully someday the rping community will be more welcoming to all players
I haven’t really played wings of fire beta now much, it’s because I join a sever I see exp rps like… wash up exp! Kingdom Rp exp!.. even thought I do the normal ones not just exp, it seems hard for starters, so that’s why I don’t join much on now it feels like exp are just acting a little off :(
It gets worse but I look the oppisite trying to make myself feel better and try to make things good disabilities, mental illnesses or not, they're are dragonets snd dragons with emotions not just some weak person who can't do anything or a dfferent species or anything, they are people. We were all un experienced at some point but we can't look back and say i wanna do that. I slowly start feeling down about this community I'm EXP yes but i call myself "Part EXP"because i make strange bios and stories ppl may not like. I can't say I have unExp stories yet but I'll look out for some because I'm trying to make a video on it about faking being unexp to spread awarness wish me luck for My Posting thing for Insights hasn't worked Got a story :D A was faking being Unexpna washed up Exp with auds and I decided to join and uhhh let's say I somehow passed I'm writing this as I'm in the roplay reporting if you get a prompt even if you have some bad spelling may work I spelt horror as horer
I had a really good time on the game causing trouble as a band of scavengers with some random people. It was a lot more fun than most roleplays I join now.
Yeah this is happening a lot now I was playing as a silkwing but I was really sick and my hands hurt but I was put into an “audition” and when they told me to audition or I couldn’t join I just left I tried arguing that it was rude to do that they started to make fun of me so I just left. This is happening a lot in other Roblox games I don’t know them all but ik dandy’s world is having the same issues with “starters” it’s kinda sickening that people who are trying to play /trying to learn how to play people are getting judged and excluded
I came upon this video and i realised i have pushed younger roleplayers away by agreeing with the people that are doing “exp” only rps i thought it was smart because i thought it was annoying when younger players joined but this video has helped me rember that i was a “ unexp”. Roleplayer at one point i had “bad” ocs to I apologize to everyone for doingg this im truly sorry that i thought exp players only ros were good Im sorry that i myself pushed away younger players I realized that was so selfish of me for being only nice to some players Even tho when i first joined wof i was welcomed in and let in to almost every single rp People always being kind to me no mater how clueless i was Although i dont play wof super often i should try to be kind and respectful to everyone to any one and everyone Also question Say your hosting a rp with some really important roles that requires someone who can stay long (ex queen role) is it okay to ask for auds for just that one role?
As someone with adhd, autism, and English being my second language, i can confirm, im terrified of getting called inexperienced just because i write slowly or have bad grammar. I'm not at all experienced when it comes to rp in games, but i am experienced in text rp's, yet i fear that its not enough.. i usually get anxiety in the middle of rps causing me to say immq brb or afk so i have some small extra time to think of my next response, because im used to rp messages taking a while and fear of being judged- i have stopped playing the game primarily because of those concerns..
Ive been in many roleplay auditions, and been rejected from most. When these got more common, I had been roleplaying for at least two years at that point. And been rejected due to being inexp.
I've never roleplayed in this dragon game before, but I do roleplay a lot on WCUE, which is a game where people really don't like "in-exp" players. I have seen people be rude to inexp-looking players for even wanting to join a roleplay. Though a good thing probably is that I've never seen people have to audition for regular roles (warrior, kit, app, ect) but it is pretty common for people to hold auditions for important roles (leader, medicine cat, deputy) It's really terrible how people are being turned away from roleplays just because their morph isn't pretty/complex enough or they don't have any gamepasses. You can't get experienced if you can't experience it.
I'll be sure to help you with that! I haven't been playing much dure to the lack of time, but also due to the community. When the 'exp' rps started I didn't even know what it meant. I also found that the auditions were just... Annoying in general. I understand if you want someone qualified forbthe role you need them for, but what if it's a character you really want to be that day? And that character has to re-write or change their entire character if they don't get a certain role they had their character for. Its just... There's a lot that's needed to be brushed up on and fix. When I first joined the community, the mudwing hadn't even been remodeled yet, a d the community felt... Welcoming... But now... It feels like everything about that community with the 'exp' rps have just been... Thrown out the window... I wish that the community can get better. Don't worry, I'll make a video concerning this very soon. I'll tag ya in it if need be.
I personally do not like auditions, as someone who has to gather enough courage to even talk to other people, it just gives me anxiety and like….stage fright in a way. On the rare occasion I host an rp, I don’t mind exp or non-exp, whoever wants to join is welcome to, as long as they aren’t toxic or just a troll. And about oc designs, I make pretty decent ocs, and I’ll admit I always wanna make cooler ones, like all the amazing ‘exp’ people, and it’s just a bad habit. Just don’t feel bad for your roleplay style, or oc designs, as long as you enjoy the game, exploring or even make new friends, that’s all you need. You’ll learn to improve if you just ask some nice players!
One time i joined a rp that you had to audition for. I have extensive knowledge on WoF, ive played WoF beta for a long time, and my grammar while roleplaying is pretty good. I got accepted. Then someone came up to the host and said "this is supposed to be exp?" It felt bad because everyone else in the rp was so nice and had cool ocs.
I agree so much you shouldn’t judge based of a name or bio like i am exp but I leave my bio blank because one dragon can have many personality’s and I like the freedom no bio gives
I’m making a fanmade graphic novel bc you guys inspired me, credits to you guys who made the graphics and game, it’s a leafwing graphic novel but without the same characters :).
I frequently host rps with auditions , but not really because of actual experience for me , and anyone who is rude to younger players / in general is swiftly kicked from the rp as well . The main and only reason i host rps with auds is just because I just prefer to be able to read messages . My ONLY basis on auds is " is there basic enough english / punctuation that I can understand " and you're in . No fancy text or anything required [ I myself usually do one-liners ! ] Also , judging based on morphs or bios is horrid , and an awful base for ANY judgement at all . [ the only other reason I do auds is older players also tend to be more accepting from what I've seen , and less harass-y . I've had a lot of bad experiences in non audded rps 😅 p
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH. I completely abandoned wof for multiple months because of this. I just started playing again I always turn down “exp” rps. I sometimes also remind them about how this is an issue. I sadly don’t have discord is there any other way to come with devs?
I agree that there are a lot of people now being meaner than they used to be, I have also myself tried and "exp" roleplay and how cruel the hosts were to other people so thank you for saying something I'll also consider some of the rp ideas ^^
I am disabled and when I try to do a rp (I been playing the game way before it came out for free) I wasn’t allowed to do rps because the dragon that my main doesn’t have like a fade or stuff like that so then people would be like “your dragon is so inexperienced and you can’t join the role play because of that” after someone said that(7 months ago) I haven’t played the game since (Forgot to say this) from watching this I now might try to play the game again see how it turns out
Hey important question, I wanted to go in a server and ask in chat if any newer players would want any help with quests and other ingame things, is a right thing to do? i assume it'd be good but i wanted to make sure first
As an experienced roleplayer who’s been in the scene (the “scene” being WOF, feather family, WCUE, and others) for almost 6 years now, exp roleplays are NOT the problem. Banning exp roleplays will turn a huge amount of the roleplaying community away. There is, however, a clear difference between exp roleplays, private rps, and open rps. Exps are obviously usually exp only, most require auds, and it is typically more orderly. Private is usually played with friends and people are shitting themselves over the private rp situation rn and it’s hilarious. There’s also open rps: theres are for everyone to join. OPEN ROLEPLAYS ARE NOT EXP. YES, PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO TURN PEOPLE AWAY FROM EXP RPS. NO, OPEN RPS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BAN PEOPLE FOR BEING UN EXP. It is of course wrong to assume if someone is exp or not. Auds are easy to tell what kind of a roleplayer someone is. Auds are not “mean” or “harsh”, they are just a test of one’s abilities and i support them. However, auds are not for open rps. Auds are for private and exp ONLY. That’s my take on the subject. Obviously my opinion is different than some of yours. TL:DR Exp roleplays aren’t the problem, it’s the roleplayers themselves.
This is something I saw in many games including this. People join games and want to rp but when they are asked about stuff they don’t know because some haven’t read the books and are kicked out of rps. I really hate it, just because you didn’t read the books doesn’t mean you don’t know how to roleplay. Some role plays don’t even include the boom AT ALL and are judging others for not reading the books. It hurts me to see people being pushed away and all the spectators being drivin away by roleplay when they were there first.
ALSO: Please provide feedback if you like the new video form! I'm still exploring my style, and want to know if you guys like the optional youtube captions or the embedded video captions more!
I like the embedded captions, as it makes it easier to understand the video. Thanks for making this video btw Sika! Definitely needed to be said.
I like the new video form ngl.
I quite like the embedded captions, their in a nice font. The youtube captions tend to get words wrong so the embedded ones are quite nice
Hey sika just a question if we encounter one of these “exp” Rp hosts like in my story should we report them to the devs or just leave I would like to know in case I encounter one again
I was in an icewing rp once and they thought someone was unexp and denied them entry BECAUSE THEIR OC DIDNT HAVE FADES
THAT'S INSANE. EVEN OCS WITHOUT FADES ARE BEAUTIFUL
Once got denied for having a green icewing who was non binary, they claimed they weren’t homophobic and that it wasn’t realistic. There’s literally gay dragons in this series
@YinAndYang_ii there's literally a non-binary scavenger named "Axolotl" in book 15 if I'm not mistaken. But, I'm very sorry for you.
I mean my ocs designs in game generally suck
@YinAndYang_ii yea like sundew and willow
This is SUCH a huge issue, and I’ve even had my own roleplays hijacked by “exp” players that drove away other roleplayers. In a game about dragons. I think we all need to touch some grass
Amen
I saw that as well. I was concerned about this and realized that "exp" players are not helpful.
@AtlasMdestroyer real
frankly if i host a rp and some "exp" player tries to hijack it i warn once and then kick them to the void, if someones "inexp" you help them learn, if someones gonna be a toxic elitist you kick their keester to the void to prevent them from killing the rp for others, some things you cant fix, its harsh, but at the end of the day, the HOST is the host, not some other person who gets invited into a rp and thinks they own it
YES! This happens in wcue too, its so annoying ☹️
--------------------------------------
I agree with the thing that "they also get judge on the way they type". I never use symbols. What I mean by symbols is "-", "*", or "~" or anything else. I don't use any symbols at all since it takes up time.
Okay, here's a quick but not so quick story:
I joined this, well, hosting thing that a host was teaching inexp players how to role play. A tip that they said is, I quote on quote:
"How to know if a player is inexp: they use the symbol "*""
I just stayed silent. It wasn't a big deal back then, but I thought it was very disappointing.
I also have grammar errors which can be extremely embarrassing and make me want to cringe and bang my head against the wall. But the player reassures me by saying it's alright which makes me feel a little bit better but I'm still cringing 😭-
--------------------------------------
I also have this toxic trait that I'm scared of extremely exp pc player SkyWings that always says "pookie" to their friend 👍🏻
Uh anyways that's it on my opinions on exp things ^^
the pookie exp sky wing is so real
The going into a game and finding someone with a better morph than you is SO REAL, I've never deleted any OCs/Morphs because I try and see the positives of it, but I'm always jealous of other's peoples pretty designs
@Berryheartiscomingforyou FOR REAL 😭
Even after I read the books, I had to switch *game* just to be able to role-play with a more friendly community (the game was Horse World)
As someone who studies sociology, this division honestly makes sense. People want to interact with people of similar traits, maybe bios, maybe morphs/ocs, but they don't take into consideration the factors that may affect someone's ability *to make/meet* these "requirements" they've set up. Also, "inexp" people are unfairly labelled as "troublemakers" or a "nuisance", and if they are constantly treated like this then YES, they are going to feel like that is who they are - which is why some people have just straight up turned *away* from certain roleplaying games (Like WCUE - as I've seen some content creators say the fandom is too toxic)
I've always treated other, "less experienced" players with kindness and respect, and me personally I think it's really sweet when someone comes up to me asking for help - it makes me think I'm an approachable person (in-game) and it's annoying to see some people just downright be disrespectful.
Absolutely real. I literally got psychologically scarred by the WCUE community 😔
(dw im fine now)
@@Cascadec omz cascade
XD
This division complex hurt me, and it hurts others as well.
EXACTLY. Symbols don't determine your experience. I use * and I've been roleplaying for years.
The biggest issue imo abt "experience" is that its subjective, the bar varies wildly based on who is deciding it, (and ironically the ones demanding experience are usually the ones who leave the rp immediately or are "inexp" themselves and the rp quickly devolves into chaotic nonsense, but i digress...)
I run sherpas in co op games like destiny and dark souls etc, so i know very well that not everyone is perfect 100% of the time, we were all noobs at some point in literally everything, so i can agree that ppl wont get better if you shun them or dont help them get used to a new concept like rps.
And as for the "not good at grammar/english" etc issue: these ppl need to remember the roblox filter and autocorrect arent exactly the most reliable mechanics around 80% of the time, i make grammar mistakes a LOT in wofb (i mean just look at this mess of grammatical errors)
Plus, at the end of the day, ITS ROBLOX, its DESIGNED around kids, so of COURSE younger kids will want to play it, trying to act like everyone needs to be experienced in the same level you are is frankly the very definition of ironic.
Instead of demanding exp, maybe try helping them learn to rp.
i’m a person of two languages, be it Italian, and I learned English. I used to join Rps 24/7 or every chance I got. Back when the game was Paid Access, I had just finished my English lessons, and my grammar and punctuation use were still a WIP, but apparently some folks don’t find that as an excuse for “RP Auditions”
this was before I had touched on the topic of writing, so I did not exactly have a good idea of Roleplay tactics.
Be kind to other players please and if you can't include them in your roleplay, atleast help them find a more suitable one so they can still play with someone else.
it’s sometimes genuinely disgusting how people act when other people aren’t exactly like them.
-----
Now related to the topic, I’ve seen secondhand how “unexp” just get screamed out, I remember being in an rp where a skywing wanted to be leader.
We should start that.
this is whats happening in WCUE too ..... i think roleplaying just isnt the same as it used to be
This is a real problem, I was just hanging out on the Cliff by the ocean talking to people but this "exp" rp drove us away even though they weren't even doing the washed up rp, And I saw them earlier driving out the younger ppl, I understand why auditions exist but it isn't fair when I see a poor player just trying to join and when they fail to get the AUD they just scream at them, it's just so sad that people get so mad just because of that, I saw a poor sewing driven away like this from a exp rp I was in, they literally were crying, I tried comforting them but they just decided to quit the game because of that, I am truly disappointed like you, I was introduced to this game 4 years ago when I was 10, it was so friendly, if only that people could just be kind like before.
That is frustrating ngl, over something you can’t control? You just wanted to have fun.
@@Petalpool story of my life lmao
I used to be ‘experienced’, I was there since before the silkwing, but I took a long break, and hadn’t role-played in more than two years. I forgot how. I came back to feel some nostalgia and reignite some joy, but I was turned away for being inexperienced.
Same except i joined when the game was released. I hate peoples who olay the game now smh
I'd really like to roleplay with people I haven't met, but I am a very anxious person and my mind will not let me at this point in time (even if most of these exp rp hosts would consider me "experienced")
I get wanting to roleplay with people the same age and experience level, but is it really that hard to be nice to people? Like you said, you don't know who is behind the 3d dragon model you're being shown on screen. It's really sad to see people being mean to others over dragons in a roblox game.
Those are kind of my thoughts on it. Apologies if I don't make sense, I'm not usually a commenter.
i didn't realize my comment was this long lol.
Wcue has experienced a similar issue, these communities are making it impossible to keep it fresh and fun for everyone.
I hate exp roleplays but I like inexp roleplays, but i agree with you
I started playing this game about 2 years ago, I struggle with spelling issues a lot if I don't have auto correct.
I could try but. The majority of players (here me out) will most likely just say "Nty" but that's just a theory (A game theory)
@Starvaze yeah, thanks for wanting to try though, I've had the idea for a bit now
I joined this game in August of this year.
2:35 I really relate to this, learning English and stuff. I get turned down in many rp game, especially wof.
You know it's serious when sika needs to talk...
Exactly
ah so this was the video you were making, and then we became a rainbow mud gang lol
(one time i denied access to someone to an rp.. then they sent me death threats ;-;)
as a person who has a learning disability and epilepsy it made it really hard to type fast and I have a lot of spelling errors because of it!!
I have both of these as well. And experienced something similar
Edit: IGNORE THIS COMMENT LOL
I wrote it before I watched the entire video and he addressed like everything
I do mostly agree, but one thing you need to also take into account, and please do hear me out (read the whole thing before replying):
Some experienced players turn down inexperienced players for _valid reasons._ For example, people say you should be welcoming and let them join your roleplays, and teach them how to play and roleplay properly.

So i help other ppl help them too!❤
I personally think there should be a rule against exp roleplays, as they’re really just doing more harm than good tbh
I can't say I have unExp stories yet but I'll look out for some because I'm trying to make a video on it about faking being unexp to spread awarness wish me luck for My Posting thing for Insights hasn't worked
Got a story :D
A was faking being Unexpna washed up Exp with auds and I decided to join and uhhh let's say I somehow passed I'm writing this as I'm in the roplay reporting if you get a prompt even if you have some bad spelling may work I spelt horror as horer
I gave up on role playing because I have a difficult time reading and spelling and understanding but I still play and love the game❤
I came upon this video and i realised i have pushed younger roleplayers away by agreeing with the people that are doing “exp” only rps i thought it was smart because i thought it was annoying when younger players joined but this video has helped me rember that i was a “ unexp”. Roleplayer at one point i had “bad” ocs to
I apologize to everyone for doingg this im truly sorry that i thought exp players only ros were good
Im sorry that i myself pushed away younger players
I realized that was so selfish of me for being only nice to some players
Even tho when i first joined wof i was welcomed in and let in to almost every single rp
People always being kind to me no mater how clueless i was
Although i dont play wof super often i should try to be kind and respectful to everyone to any one and everyone
Also question
Say your hosting a rp with some really important roles that requires someone who can stay long (ex queen role) is it okay to ask for auds for just that one role?
yeah its pretty common, just do as youve said and try to be kind if youre declining someone from the role
@ kk i was just windering
Ive never seen this before.. most likely becausei dont play much anymore.. but i believe this
I've never roleplayed in this dragon game before, but I do roleplay a lot on WCUE, which is a game where people really don't like "in-exp" players.
4:00 and how do you suggest we “go about it”?
by not harassing people.. obviously
Also , judging based on morphs or bios is horrid , and an awful base for ANY judgement at all .
Not related but the Minecraft music is a nice touch👍
I agree that there are a lot of people now being meaner than they used to be, I have also myself tried and "exp" roleplay and how cruel the hosts were to other people so thank you for saying something
I'll also consider some of the rp ideas ^^
I am disabled and when I try to do a rp (I been playing the game way before it came out for free) I wasn’t allowed to do rps because the dragon that my main doesn’t have like a fade or stuff like that so then people would be like “your dragon is so inexperienced and you can’t join the role play because of that” after someone said that(7 months ago) I haven’t played the game since
(Forgot to say this) from watching this I now might try to play the game again see how it turns out
Hey important question, I wanted to go in a server and ask in chat if any newer players would want any help with quests and other ingame things, is a right thing to do? i assume it'd be good but i wanted to make sure first
Yeah! I used to do the same thing, it's a really good thing to do!
WOOO THIS IS THE BEST
This is something I saw in many games including this.
People join games and want to rp but when they are asked about stuff they don’t know because some haven’t read the books and are kicked out of rps. I really hate it, just because you didn’t read the books doesn’t mean you don’t know how to roleplay. Some role plays don’t even include the boom AT ALL and are judging others for not reading the books. It hurts me to see people being pushed away and all the spectators being drivin away by roleplay when they were there first.
