After Empire Strikes Back, Vader when on a mission of his own, to investigate what really happened from Padme’s end after she died. This piss off Palpatine to the point that he finally showed him his True Colors and gave Vader a “re-education.” At this point Palpatine leash on Vader has never been tighter, until Luke finally managed to sever it.
exactly. His whole thing about looking for the rebels in this is a well-hidden agenda of his. he couldn't give two shits about the rebel alliance's motives except for the information he could give them. He's not looking for rebels, he's looking for his son.

I don't get it though. I thought Disney paid Jones a HUGE sum to be allowed to fake his voice with an AI respeech program for future Vader appearances... Was that only limited to movies and series? Why would you NOT use Jones' voice? Having an actor actively trying to talk and sound LIKE Jones even pre-processing makes the AI respeech a LOT better

However, like I said, you NEED a performance that is *close* in intonation and delivery to get a good AI voice out of it (at least at the current state of technology). And in case of an iconic voice like Darth Vader, at least for me, none of the other voices provided really FEEL right. Wether it's older games like The Force Unleashed or newer ones like Fallen Order, none of the stand-ins felt as good as what they did with the (albeit otherwise flawed) Kenobi series where they used AI. I absolutely love Vader in Kenobi and he is one of the main reasons I watched it at all. We can't fully replace acting or voice acting and I think that's good, I wouldn't want a cinema landscape made up completely of deep fakes and respeeches of the same actors over and over. But for someone as close to my heart as Vader, anyone but Jones just won't work. That might h have something to do with him being a "faceless" character. I don't know.

Personal head cannon is that Vader did way more damage to the empire than the rebels ever could by constantly killing high-ranking officers. Half the time it wasn't even incompetence he just happen to be in a bad mood or was ego tripping like in this scene. And even if an Imperial did fail they could have learned from this experience, no matter how professional a military is there's going to be fuck ups. Like imagine being a 20 something year old fresh out of the academy, highly educated, with extensive training that was probably way more expensive and time consuming as opposed to the regular enlisted stormtroopers. Then on your first assignment you just happen to fumble the ball because some insurgents had a space wizard with them. You could learn from this experience but nope your boss snaps your neck right then and there (I've had family and friends who served in the actual military and they say fuck ups are actually quite common they just have to adapt to the situation) So yeah constantly killing those with specialized training and creating a hostile work environment where nobody actually wanted to risk trying or even suggest something new... Yeah it's no wonder team good guy ran circles around them.
Fuck ups are quite common in the marines atleast thing is though everything is times 10 so a fuck up is who u are until ur basically a master at whatever u do as a job. punishments are also times 10. I see ur point tho killing is a waste

But the Empire was ran by an egomaniac who relied heavily on massive, intimidating, but impractical designs rather than pragmatic structures, enforced by a man of rage and anger who executed officers for “incompetence”, and actively encouraged succession through backstabbing and scheming rather than merit. If the Empire relied more on men like Thrawn, it would have succeeded.

Good connection to Jedi Survivor here, Vader's Inquisition into the ISB led to him having firmer oversight of its agents/leaders seeing he was undermined by previous directors.
If there is one thing you need to when confronting vader, is never speak to him in a high tone or with such attitude he will definitely remind you that who your talking to and give you an idea that you will always be at his mercy as long as you never fail him.

For the longest time the worst thing you can receive from Darth Vader was a choke hold or a swing from his lightsaber. This shows that Vader has far worst ways of eliminating his foes.
I think the Rebels stuff and vader were implemented well in this game. Not too much, just a bit to make it „realistic“, since there‘s not really a reason outlaws should encounter the youngling slayer. Also the sheer panic from Kay after seeing Vader is great.
What I'm wondering besides the voice is what this model of Vader is actually all about. The armor does fit at the time of Episode 5/6, but the helmet is still based on Episode 4 (red lenses, angry look) which no longer fits at this time (as of Episode 5, Vader has black lenses and a less aggressive look). Strangely enough, Vader's model in the hologram scene fits again and the helmet is accurate. Ubisoft could have been a little more careful, I think.
It is so strange that Scott Lawrence is the voice actor for Vader in both Outlaws and Jedi Survivor, and yet he sounds totally different in the two games. I guess it's the mixing and processing, but he sounds waaay better in Jedi Survivor.

While I am overall not very impressed by this game, I will admit that Ubisoft did a very good job with modeling the different imperial armors in the game. Vader is visually stunning, but Fallen Order and Survivor definitely did the voice better

I think the Rebels stuff and vader were implemented well in this game. Not too much, just a bit to make it „realistic“, since there‘s not really a reason outlaws should encounter the youngling slayer. Also the sheer panic from Kay after seeing Vader is great.
It's nice to see Darth Vader using different tactics than force choke.
Vader has many abilities, but he didn't use those abilities.
Good thing the Empire dont got HR departments in their forces, Vader would keep them busy with his executions and terrifying leadership style.

What I'm wondering besides the voice is what this model of Vader is actually all about. The armor does fit at the time of Episode 5/6, but the helmet is still based on Episode 4 (red lenses, angry look) which no longer fits at this time (as of Episode 5, Vader has black lenses and a less aggressive look). Strangely enough, Vader's model in the hologram scene fits again and the helmet is accurate. Ubisoft could have been a little more careful, I think.

It is so strange that Scott Lawrence is the voice actor for Vader in both Outlaws and Jedi Survivor, and yet he sounds totally different in the two games. I guess it's the mixing and processing, but he sounds waaay better in Jedi Survivor.

While I am overall not very impressed by this game, I will admit that Ubisoft did a very good job with modeling the different imperial armors in the game. Vader is visually stunning, but Fallen Order and Survivor definitely did the voice better
