I just bought one after Hurricane Helene ran through many of our trees in our back yard. Super simple to set up..not a lot of maintenance. Easy to tighten chain. It really made cutting trees fun. Also my hands didn’t feel like I was cutting all day
That is great buddy. I have been using mine for a few months now, and I just love it. Works great. Super Handy and doesnt tire me out. Thank You for Commenting Sterling
I own that exact same saw. And it comes with an Oregon bar and chain as stock even though it says ego on it! The best part about electric saws is you don't have to fool with fuel and mix oil just put some bar oil in it pull the trigger and it runs.
That is great. I will have to look into it and see if you can actually change the sprocket and gauge on the EGO saw. I don't get the negative comments here, he points out that he's using a cheap consumer saw, taking on a larger tree than you'd properly use it for, and that it does a surprisingly good job, considering. Yes of course if you're dropping trees this size all day you would invest in a more powerful saw (Greenworks Commercial 82CS34, Ego Commercial CSX5007, Milwaukee 2827) and more batteries, but this is a great video showing that even a little saw can punch above its weight sometimes.
Thank You Ben! It was really funny. This video + one other I made in a row, got a ton of negative comments! All came out of nowhere lol. Then in then next 10 videos, i have like no negative comments. Thank You For Writing. I have had great luck with this little Ego Saw. I would like to by the bigger commercial version, and put it to the test for a full day falling timber. I own this saw. It is great for taking down a tree because you can hear if something starts to crack. My guess is that the battery was empty after this one tree though. I use mine for 10" trees and under, and can cut up the entire tree into 16in logs. If I try to cut through a single 16in hardwood the battery will overheat and if i take it easy I might get 2-3 cuts.
Awesome. That is great to hear. I have been using it as my main limbing saw for these same size second growth spruce. I get 2-3 trees limbed per battery. I am super happy with the battery life of the Ego saw. I had not thought of the silence when falling, that is a great point. I am super glad to hear the saw has worked out well for you. I have really enjoyed it. I have five EGO chainsaws. One of them being a polesaw. I have two CS1800s; like the one you're using, and the CS2000, and the CSX5000. I have a 24" bar on the 5000. And next week I'm ordering a 20" bar for one of the 1800s. It's gonna be a blast!
I 'saw' at the end of this video; your battery sitting on a charger. The one you're using is a 200w. EGO also makes a 320w, a 550w, and a 700w charger! My advice, from my lived experience; is stay away from the 320w one. With the other three chargers; upon completion of the charging cycle; the batteries are cool to the touch. With the 320w one; the batteries are almost hot to the touch. I got my first 320w warranted from EGO because of the heat. The replacement was just as bad.
This is why you cut your hinge first then you cut the notch. You can see the notch cut if you look down the hinge to prevent a dutchman. And you can ABSOLUTLY get your sights from a hinge cut. I just think its super easy and effective. And yo u wont have this Huge dutchman we see here.

@@secondgrowthhomes very nice video. I've been using Husqvarna corded electric saws for years in my woodlot. Both felling trees and sectioning delivered timber. Yes, long extension cords. Works beautifully. Oh, I live about an hour's drive from Huskvarna, which is where the saws come from. I'm a dual Swedish / US citizen. I vote in Arizona, my last residence in the US. I see east coast fallers do that in their videos.
I can’t bring myself to do it! lol
Amazing..... all the people that have zero awareness of the square grind chain.... what real pros use
I have only used it once or twice.
I am still on semi chisel, round file.

You own a house log business and don't even know how to run a chain saw. Get some training.
Give me 1 Tip? lol
Don't pay attention to comments like this. I think you did a great job.
