I have no idea who you are. I just watch FF8 stuff for nostalgia.
I knew clicking this video would make me cry right along with you. I love watching emotional people crying at video games that made me emotional. Sometimes you need to let out what you've been holding in. And I'm always holding it in.
    Thanks for that. You're a sweetheart ✌️

If they end up doing a full remake of this, I hope they do some some more cutaways to Seifer's crew. They ended up being some of my favorites.

Man, the first time I finished this game was 1999 as a kid, the ending still gets me good 25 years later.
And hell yeah, the first time I went through the game I didn't understand jack shit about junctioning lmao.
    Really enjoyed your playthrough!!

FF8 and 7 got me through some pretty lonely parts of my childhood. I look back on those pixels more fondly than most real people i have known. I don't know if that says something about me or the people that were in my life at the time.

Man, this was one of my favorite games EVER alongside ff7 and this game holds a special place in my heart. With that said, seeing the ending again as an adult with a wife and kid, holy fuck this hits so much different....God damn.

Rinoa pointing at the shooting star is to remember him when they meet for the first time, in the SeeD graduation party, right before they danced (and it is the same final scene caught by the camera of the credits before the battery dies). The repeating sequence of him seeying Rinoa in the party is him fighting to remember her, but he is losing his memories in the time warp, that happen when ppl trying to remember things they forgot due to trauma, they deal with some pain when trying to get the memories back.

For me, this was my favorite 3-D Final Fantasy. I beat it 3 times and 100% this game twice on the PS1 and running through it again on the PS4. The Junction System was so fun and versatile, at least in my opinion... Not a lot of people understood the end, but when you do understand, it hits like a truck...

Its very touching to see someone else get so emotional and impacted by this game. Final fantasy really made fall in love with fiction and music. Growing up with the game id think aabkut it at school (too often probably lol) and really appreciated music. Thank you for sharing this 😊

This is my favorite Final Fantasy. Shit, probably my favorite game. I've never felt such emotional depth in any other game. A long while ago, I also lost my one and only soulmate. So Raine and Laguna always make the tears flow haha. Don't be ashamed of your heart. Loved your reaction.

Makes this fight and enging 10000x more impactful, if you subscribe to the Ultimecia=Rinoa from the future theory.
Nice to see FF8 appreciated for once anyway

This game was very important to me for a number of reasons, besides it being my first Final Fantasy (And usually you always fall in love with you first FF!) it helped me through a very difficult and uncertain time, I would have been around the same age as Squall when I played this and it actually guided me in to realising I need to open up and let people in, make some friends and let them near and stop being such a loner, pitty it never held up, nearly 40 and I keep a majority of people at arms length, but that's because experience has told me how nasty, vile and damaging it can be to let them in, like this game, I have a small party of friends I trust.
This game really needs more content, all the others are getting revamps, remakes, etc, but they seem to avoid this one besides a remaster, for those that didn't know content has been to scarce because a Squaresoft employee left all the code in a briefcase on a train in the very early 2000's, from what I understand they had to almost reverse engineer the game to do the remaster, but hey, it's something.
I'm on the edge of starting the streamer thing myself tbh, so it's good to see you getting the support and that it helped you, i've just found your channel so i'll give it a sub.
    Great video.

I've grown up with these games, I was 16 playing this game and made me emotional too. Lots of other Final Fantasy series games do too. Long as a game has a good story and good music, I feel chills, and even a few sniffles if I attachment to characters well enough.

Im pretty sure there is either alternative endings or different versions of the game.
Cuz I cleared this game countless times since I first bought it over 25 years ago, its one of my favorites games of all time.
And until I watched this video Ive never seen Squall after the camera zooms out from Rinoa holding his lifeless body in the desert.
Which would also explain why so many people, me included, thought he died.
Why would anyone ever think that if THIS was the ending everyone got?

I am in the exact same boat when it came to this game and never seeing its ending. This is my first and favorite FF. This game means so much to me. It was a gift from my father. I was about 13 or so and couldn’t figure out the Junction system. I had to make it all the way to Fujin and Raijin in Lunatic pandora at the end with only base physical attack with minimum magic junction but never went further . But I lost my father back when I was 14 about a year later and couldn’t play the game. But I still loved the game. I’m 36 now but I beat it for the first time when I was about 28. And I never seen the ending. I got very good at the junction system by then and I was in tears because it was the game I last played with my father in his sick state and it brought back some emotions coz I usually play games when I’m not well or to cope. But for casual fun too. But it meant so much to finally know what happens and it helped me put the whole story in place.
Btw as I was watching your video, I seen how much Raine’s eyes look so much like squalls and it’s uncanny to just now see that remarkable resemblance. Cheers!!!

My first game was FF7 and went on to FF8 a short time later thinking it would be a lot of the same. I think i was 13 or 14 and I was so wrong.
FF8 is so different, so great, so beautiful, so convoluted but so perfect. If it was a movie they would have won so many oscars.
The ending still makes me cry 25 years later. Even when i know the ending down to every detail, It is so wierd. When they make the remake i doubt i will feel the same.

I doubt anyone watches any playthrough of most FF games and doesnt expect tears and emotion, we all cry, thats why we love them right? Dont hide your emotions, let them out and we will share them with you, we are reexperiencing it through you after all. Definitely dont apologize, the worst reactions to things like this are the people who act like they dont care. Some comments might say otherwise, but theres lots of idiots on the internet. I appreciated your reaction, its always nice to see people see what I do. The final scene breaks me, it needs to be real. Squall's smile has to be real. He needs to be happy, the entire games story is leading to the payoff where a depressed loner finds love and the courage to reach out. It has to be rewarded.
The fever dream section always felt to me like Squalls mind caving in on itself, he imagines rinoa initially, but she wont turn around, when she does, she sorta fades out a bit. "Am I alone again?" Then it starts cutting to the ball and she starts disappearing, then it cuts through all the other moments weve seen through Squall, and ultimately, as Rinoa is the most important to him, his fear of being alone again pushes it all on her, and his mind breaks. I think he awakens after she finds him. but as usual, FF endings to be ambiguous. Still, its always been my favorite game and it always will be. Squalls smile is the nugget of hope I keep in my heart, you can find your way out of depression, Squall did.

They just don't make games like these PS1 final fantasies anymore. Man. They could spend so much more time crafting a beautiful story because they had to spend less time with the code and graphics side of things comparatively. 7, 8 and 9 just have that real "heart and soul" feel that is vanishingly hard to find in modern games and I dearly hope we return to this "games as art" mentality sooner or later. I'm tired of the graphics showcases :/

The fan theory about Squall being dead is "it was all a dream" level dull and uninteresting. Every story ever told is a dream. Every character is dead. They're all in the Matrix. What fucking difference would it make? lmao

    • @osurac14vlb
      @osurac14vlb 2 месяца назад

it also never made sense to me. The whole theory hinges on the fact that everything after Edea impales him starts going off the rails, but there were TWO Laguna sequences before that happened. How the fuck did that theory account for those? R=U similarly never felt right to me. The resolution of this story is one of happiness and hope, not tragedy. If R=U then it undercuts the entire plot of Squall's character arc. Yes Squall, you will be alone again eventually AND have to kill her. beside the fact that both theories were confirmed to be untrue people still argue over it.
