I think you made a mistake with Wolfgang. The best place to lift in the mini game is when the circle is in the white part of the bar. That gives 10 mightiness gain compared to 6.67.

As a walter enjoyer, some things I noticed that can be used : the marble suit's downside (being extremely slow) doesn't affect him when he's riding Woby. So you can just wear it at all times without really having any downside. He's also extremely good for killing shadow creatures, since he autoaims at them when they respawn if you hold F. That makes him the fastest shadow creatures killer imo. Other than that, thanks a lot for the content, I had no idea about his favourite meal, I'll try that out :D
This video does highlight Webbers lack of DPS compared to Wurt, I think a fun workaround would be to allow Webber to tame a Spider Queen with a boss part like Ancient Guardian horn, however only allowing 1 tameable Spider Queen
Frankly i think they should give webber a way to make spider nests with unique spiders, that are strong enough to deter webber players from making large hordes and holding my frames hostage
I disagree with your take on Wigfrid - because when I played don't starve for the first time it felt crushingly difficult, I couldn't do anything and survive past winter and dropped the game completely. But few years later I decided to give the game another go and playing as Wigfrid made me actually enjoy the game and be capable of not dying constantly and learning the mechanics like cold protection ect and now I fell in love with the game. So she can be really helpful for new players at the beginning because she is so easy, she helps to learn the fundamental of survival and first boss encounters
Same, I am suuuuuper new to this kind of game (i.e. not crosswords) and after dying so many times without even reaching winter I made myself play wigfrid just to practice fighting and kiting and hunting since I couldn't manage not to die too fast with any other characters. Jakey makes me laughcry whenever he says it's basically impossible to die with a certain character, because thanks J but I'll manage to anyway! I still haven't managed to survive a year yet and I'm trying other characters out now, but Wigfrid helped me make it to my first winter so I'm so grateful to her aaahahaha! I guess that's why her difficulty is a 1, especially to more regular gamers, so I think it's probably a fair take from one experienced gamer to other experienced gamers
I think the problem mainly stems from becoming a Wigfrid simp. It's ok to use her after learning all the mechanics, but to some this can be a double edge sword where they no longer want to play another character, because otherwise, the game becomes too hard.
yes but you could also channge the length of autoum and make there be more saplings and grass to get you started then decrese winter. this is how i got to know how to survive winter sping and summer without dieing as soon as i get to the new seson coz i didn't know what to expect
@@DarkOmegaMK2I play Wigfrid because of two things. One, i like the melee combat. Second, sanity. I mean, healing is great but i don't think it is too op (Pierogi exists). The problem is sanity. I tried playing Wolfgang but i was not for me. I had to constantly go for mushrooms and cactus. I guess it's because i like to tame a beefalo early on, so i have to stay in caves very often. Maybe some early easier options for sanity would be nice. The game is already too hard.
@@Precigian I don't get why taming a beefalo would get you to go in the caves. Like when I tame a beefalo I just give him cooked twigs and ride it everyday until success, nothing needed from the caves. And for sanity, really good players like aforementioned jakey will just be used to be on low sanity all the time (you can turn off some settings to make your screen less scrambled while insane and play normally) and periodically slay nightmare creatures when needed. For a while I didn't like being insane, so what I did that works with any character is either make a tent and use meatballs and sleeping to max your brain meter, and advancing in your game at a good pace i.e. prototyping a lot (even if it's some dumb shit like precrafting a sign) which will restore a lot of sanity. Else you can just make a top hat. Either way wigfrid is very fun and chill to play as you can just solve all your problems by beating the shit out of something
Wigfrid is easy to play as? but have you considered....I am a huge baby and I'm scared to fight monsters😢 I think shes a useful guide for how to fight monsters and to not be afraid of combat, without Wigfrid I would've never mastered kiting! Amazing video btw!!
The spider summary section said that cave spiders have 175 health, but they actually have 225 health. And in my case the chorusbox circuit gives +5 sanity in-game and IRL, it's even better when you have 2 equipped 🙂
37:15bro i have this as my alarm clock and i actually flinched irl once i heard it, guess i got ptsd from it now, like actually heard it and was ready to get out of my bed to turn it off
A thought that occurs to me after hearing you mention a couple of them in passing- I think it might be interesting to see a video that discuses all the common (and possibly some less common) synergies between characters, such as the Wickerbottom/Wanda that can make a rush on the Alarming Clock. Idea's free, take it or leave it. Thanks for all the info!
About the spiders de-spawning thing, they do, but only if there’s lots of spiders and the server is shut down. However, this doesn’t apply to switcherdoodled spiders. Also, Webber can easily destroy deerclops, you just need 2 campfires running
So much effort has been put into this video. This is probably the best character guide out there now. How much effective hp does Wanda have at age 65? Also, why does teleportation alone make her a good character for long term basing? She has no advantage in resource production and gathering
80-65 = 15*2.5 =37.5hp, her teleports mean you can teleport everywhere on the map after you set it up and Bearger is a very good resource generator that any character can use
Jakey, I subbed to you years ago for RuneScape videos. I just picked up this game for my son and found you. So glad to hear your voice again man. You are one of my favorite content creators.
I can't imagine how much time and effort this took to put together. Amazing resource for new and, like myself, returning players! Thank you for the dedication, earned my sub for sure
As someone who only has 14 hours and pretty muich only exclusively play with friends, this is pretty helpful, I've only played webber and wortox and found them fun, but wanted to some of the others, but I could never actually properly understand which characters were more beginner friendly, thanks!
Feel like this one has the same issue as the old one where Utility feels really off, sometimes you give insane scores to characters who only do one thing really well 10, sometimes you roll things into utility that should be in combat etc.
Wigfrid is not a "unhealthy" character, she is the most fun i had with EVERY character because of the easyness of getting a good weapon and good defence, fighting things is so damn fun in this game, also my teammates said so many good things about me when i gave them a holy 80% reduction on damage for 2 rocks and 2 gold. Also you forgot to say that she punish you for not fighting, straight up "no figthing - no meat, no hunger, deal with it on winter bitch"
As a Walter main, this video was like a shot through the heart. Maybe it's because me and my group are less experienced with the game than most, but I feel like his unique toolkit and utility was somewhat understated. His ability to crank out dirt-cheap tents is amazing for maintaining the sanity of a large, spread out group (without listening to his stupid bugle voice all night), and his slingshot is amazing when it comes to clearing out nuisance mobs like frogs and tentacles without having to fuss with characters with higher setup times or costs like Wickerbottom, Winona, and Wanda. I also love using it to kill Gobblers and aggro Koalefants without needing to waste darts (boomerang exists but can be finicky) or waste time trying to corner them. He can also be good for ruins rushing as Woby is a great early-game movement option, both when looking for the initial sinkholes and once you actually get down there. I know there are characters who can likely do all of these things better, but whenever I play Walter with a group, I feel like the leader of the group (at least until Webber or Wurt get the chance to set up). I agree that his downsides are a bit much, though.
As a Beefalo enjoyer, I'd rate Maxwell pretty high up since you can just make use of beefalo health to negate his delicateness. Not being able to use powerful weapons is completely fine, a boon even, once you have the shadow thurible. He is tied with Wendy who even though she can't summon prisons or a lot of puppets, she deals more damage with Abby's damage amp, not having any casting animation, and Abby being several folds tankier than the shadow puppets.
I don’t think the video explained this(great video btw), but as Woodie, if you lose Lucy you can start chopping any tree with a normal (flint or gold) axe to turn that axe into Lucy
Wilson is quite an interesting choice when optimized and planned for: 1 Log -> 2 Twigs makes Evergreens better at producing Twigs than Twiggy Trees, meaning you can choose to focus on farming Evergreens instead for a superior Log + Twig farm. 3 Rocks -> 1 Flint means that Stone Fruit farms now also effectively produce Flint, which is useful for mass producing Cobblestones for making mega bases. 2 Gold -> 1 Nitre allows you to turn a surplus of Gold from a variety of sources into Gunpowder for your Stone Fruit farm and for certain "other" situations... like blowing up Deerclops for fun. 2 Cut Stone -> 1 Marble means that same Stone Fruit farm now also produces Marble, which is much preferable to Marble Beans which take forever to grow for low surplus Marble. 2 Marble -> 1 Moon Rock offers an additional method of obtaining said Moon Rocks without needing to do the Moon Stone event over and over again, at effectively 12 Rocks per 1 Moon Rock. All the Gem Transmutations are useful for converting excess Red/Blue Gems from Varg Farms into useful magical items and skip having to do the Moon Stone event to access the Archives. 1 Meat -> 2 Morsels allows you to turn spoiled Meat into 2 fresh Morsels, which you can then feed to a bird to get 2 Eggs instead of only 1 per Meat, useful for making Bacon & Eggs and Pierogi. 2 Hound Teeth -> 1 Bone Shard is an additional method for making Buckets-o-poop, both for farming or for making Mushlights/Glowcaps, while also helping out a Warly make Bone Bouillon. Level 3 Beard Insulation means you can forgo using a Thermal Stone during Winter and save an inventory slot, while Beard Hair Storage gives you 3 more slots to work with on top of that. I think Lunar Innovator is better than Shadow Courtier because of how quickly Wilson can speedrun the Lunar progression from crafting his own Iridescent Gem. Being able to create Pure Brilliance from 3 Infused Moon Shards is very beneficial, more so than being able to make Dreadstone from 3 Pure Horror, considering that there are many more uses for Pure Brilliance than Dreadstone, on top of there being a second source of obtaining Dreadstone beyond Shadow Rifts because of the Nightmare Werepig, with there being no equivalent secondary source of obtaining Pure Brilliance other than Wilson.
Imagine you make a Video about ALL the characters thinking "oh gosh its finally done, all chars with reworks" then Klei starts making Characters Skill Tree...
I literally just started playing and have been having a difficult time learning/memorizing about what to make and what characters do, but your guides have been soooo insightful! Thank you!
fun fact: the exact measurements of dmg for Shadow Courtier and Lunar Innovator perks are: Wilson makes you take less dmg from shadow-aligned creatures and do more dmg to lunar-aligned creatures by 10% (for Shadow Courtier). Vice versa with Lunar Innovator
dude your inflection is Outstanding. its like. the inverse of one every person instinctively defaults to when giving a presentation, you know the one. Anyway I Love It keep the great work!!
I feel like walter is a lot better when playing multiplayer because well the other player kites and drawa the agto walter can just sit back and spam thir slingshot.
Honestly, Wes is, in my opinion, contrary to the whole point of a group survival themed game. You want a challenge character in a single player game, sure, go for it, but someone that drags down the rest by being deliberately less useful and a drain on resources makes it little surprise how many servers kick Wes on connect.
I think that’s a rather fair assessment, and Klei did try to make Wes a bit less painful by removing his faster hunger drain so he doesn’t need to plunder fridges
I only just noticed this, shadow sneak has the same effect as haunting those things, haunting spiders gives you glands and haunting beardlings a s-splumunkies drops nightmare fuel, it might also make beardlords gaurentee their 3 beard hair drop
Increasing the max hunger to over 150 is definitely super useful for one slot you go from getting not full hunger from the best dishes in the game such as meaty stew and tall scotch eggs to getting 100 percent of their value these are definitely the best hunger dishes unless you want to waste your time mining alot of ice in winter And I suppose if you farm you could eat crops but as a single player meaty stews and tall scotch eggs are the most effective and time efficient Also TREEs GROW FROM STUMPS idk why people don't know that diggin the stumps is a annyoing thing about Maxwell that can't be turned of for some reason that means If I were to have a tree farm at base I would have to replant it every single time instead of just having it grow back point is having to dig the stumps shouldn't be counted as that's useless anyways
Wilson went from an S-tier character - since no downsides, absolute perfection - to an SS-tier character - still no downsides, and massive upsides and quality-of-life perks. The only thing I would adjust, for the skill tree, is you should put your points in beard-grow-rate, not insulation. In winter, you'll probably be rocking a hat anyway, so you don't need the extra insulation. But with the growth rate, you get to full beard faster and more often, which means you can shave it more often, which means more beard hair. Then do with it what you will.
In the Warly section, you said that the only really legitimate use for the Grim Galette that you know of is the Celestial Champion due to its high lunacy aura. I was wondering if the grim galetted worked on wormwood. If so, it would be very useful for a wormwood/warly team since wormwood has much easier time regaining its sanity than its health.
I can't say I agree with some of the difficulties, Wolfgangs mightiness is certainly harder to manage than just... playing the game in comparison to Wilson for example. But it's still an absolutely concrete video none the less.
my sanity is at ~2 irl because i literally sat through the whole 3 hour video without breaks/multitasking. great video, please stop uploading i want to do other things.
Boy, can't wait for the 3rd "Ultimate Characters Guide for Don't Starve Together (All Reworks and Skillsets)" since Klie said they're gonna give every character new skillsets
Really appreciate this vid. I dropped off right around the start of the moon stuff and just came back, so all the new things are a little overwhelming.
The only thing I dislike about the merm King's buffs is that it increases sanity and I prefer keeping it at an easier to manage number of 150 where I can easily drop to 0 for nightmare fuel and go back to full faster than a 200 sanity character.
Haven't been playing this game for more than five years, now returned starting as Wigfrid. Good to know that I chose the right character, because the game is quite challenging for a new player even as Wigfrid. I wouldn't say that you don't need healing at all, you still need to kite enemies, and trying to heal by killing a ton of small mobs like bees is too time consuming that it is not worth it. And you need to build a crock pot ASAP, because you can't simply fill your belly with berries like any other character and only eating monster meat will force you to fight Shadows all the time. But she is more tanky than any other character so I think she is the best choice for newbies and solo players. But you read my mind when you were talking about Winona, that's insane. I have built a celestial portal just to switch to her so I can build a catapuld boat to farn shadow pieces and other things and then switched back to Wig. And maybe I will try out Wanda eventually, thanks to your video, her kit does sound impressive. I was curious how much content I was missing by staying on a single character for too long and you answered this question.
Who win the battle : 100 karate merm vs enraged klaus 50 tallbird vs nightmare werepig 50 werepig vs 25 tallbird 10 pig vs spider queen 50 werepig vs bee queen 20 spider queen vs celestial champion 10 treegard vs ancient fuelweaver Twins of terror vs lvl 3 shadow bishop; knight and rook at once Moose goose vs 3 brightshade plant 50 werepig vs bearger 50 pig vs deerclops 25 bee vs antillon
just a small suggest for next time if there are any. swap difficulty to ease of playing(use) so the higher number mean the better as the rest of the score.
This video would have been perfect, to every minute detail, if not for that blinking inventory slot 2:51:40 Just kidding, this video is amazing and i loved every minute of it
I haven’t played Dont Starve in quite a while, and I usually play Together, but wow WX-78 is totally different from what I remember. That’s my go-to character!
Incredible video, thank you for this. As a beginner though I slightly disagree with the difficulty ratings a little bit. I do understand these are your opinions, not trying to flame, just sharing my thoughts. For instance Wickerbottom seems like the hardest character for me right now, as her usage is highly tied to game knowledge. Wanda, as much as she's hard because of survivability and complex mechanics, are easy to understand with your explanation, can be mitigated by not being so old, and combat/kiting isn't exclusive to Don't starve, so easier to translate from other games. This mostly means that anytime knowledge is involved I'd consider that as part of the difficulty

The fact that you don't gain sanity for petting Woby is criminal, but as a balancing mechanic, I get it.

Jakey, you forgot to mention that Wanda also loses less sanity with staves. She loses -50% when she's an adult and -75% when she's elderly.
Very epic gamer
Waltuh.. stop making gold ammo, I need to build a science machine Waltuh..
I haven't played DST for a few years, and its crazy how much the characters changed, makes me wanna hop back on DST to try them out!
The spider summary section said that cave spiders have 175 health, but they actually have 225 health. And in my case the chorusbox circuit gives +5 sanity in-game and IRL, it's even better when you have 2 equipped 🙂
37:15bro i have this as my alarm clock and i actually flinched irl once i heard it, guess i got ptsd from it now, like actually heard it and was ready to get out of my bed to turn it off
It’s kind of funny how Willson goes from just having a nice beard to having a full god dam skill tree
Jakey, I'm following all your hard work through what you show on Twitch. Thank you so much for all your efforts and to bring us such quality content!
Thank you ❤️
About the spiders de-spawning thing, they do, but only if there’s lots of spiders and the server is shut down. However, this doesn’t apply to switcherdoodled spiders. Also, Webber can easily destroy deerclops, you just need 2 campfires running
Imagine making a 3 hour video, and I sat through all of it.. - Great content, very helpful and Yes, I also watch your boss runs 🔥
This seems like a short, enjoyable experience to indulge myself in during lunch
Props, this videos is insane and somehow very fun and new to watch even multiple hours in
So much effort has been put into this video.
Hope you and your son have great fun together playing the game! 😊
Man this game changed a lot, haven't really played since the time we tried the new wolfgang rework, good times

Ye my opinion on wigfrid has kinda changed, she's just very powerful and aslong as you're having fun then you're winning so play who you enjoy 😊
Shadow of kin, and kin of shadows is absolutely the best titles in this entire video, 10/10 job
For a game that rich in mechanic like DST/DS, nerd content like this is just a pure gem that should be embraced.
Like forgetting that full moon is about to start when holding the axe....
Wilson is quite an interesting choice when optimized and planned for:
1 Log -> 2 Twigs makes Evergreens better at producing Twigs than Twiggy Trees, meaning you can choose to focus on farming Evergreens instead for a superior Log + Twig farm.
It's funny to think that I was watching your speedruns and all of a sudden I got a notification of your new video. 🤡💖
bro snuck in the clown emoji
Dude. I just watched that video a couple days ago. Now you're making another that's EVEN LONGER. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO KEEP UP WITH ALL THIS
You sir have made it so much easier to understand this game and characters thanks a ton now I can play and not be lost
As a Walter main i can confirm: We just play him because Wes is too easy
lol this. i started as walter and just never switched out, his playstyle is just the most appealing to me
I’ve been waiting for this video! The first one was the first video I ever watched and got me into this channel! I’m so excited to watch this!!
did not expect a manscaped jumpscare with the text "your balls will thank you" lmao
I’d like so much to see how you will defeat all bosses as Wolter
Imagine you make a Video about ALL the characters thinking "oh gosh its finally done, all chars with reworks" then Klei starts making Characters Skill Tree...
that'd be crazy
Think I just found the best dst video out there.
Thanks alot for this tier list I've needed this
I physically recoiled when the walter intro caught me off guard
Great video btw!!
Vice versa with Lunar Innovator
i said this
whoops i am dumb
dude your inflection is Outstanding. its like. the inverse of one every person instinctively defaults to when giving a presentation, you know the one. Anyway I Love It keep the great work!!
1:09:30my favorit durability, willson
This is great, cause I've done a few runs of the game now, and it has been absolutely kicking my ass. Hopefully this video helps a little bit
I feel like walter is a lot better when playing multiplayer because well the other player kites and drawa the agto walter can just sit back and spam thir slingshot.
NICEEEEEEEE i recently just started, i watched the previous guide and wondered if there were any changes, the timingggg
Another fact about willow: joining any server as willow means that you speedrun being banned
Wendy also isn't affected by ghosts, so she won't lose sanity or be attacked by them during full moons.
Absolutely amazing. Great to actively watch and great to listen to while doing something else. Amazing video big man.
i think willow is s tier cus i like how she looks
I only just noticed this, shadow sneak has the same effect as haunting those things, haunting spiders gives you glands and haunting beardlings a s-splumunkies drops nightmare fuel, it might also make beardlords gaurentee their 3 beard hair drop
Jake! You majestic being. I'm so happy to spend another too much time with you.
Hope you are doing good mate.
Best wishes
Increasing the max hunger to over 150 is definitely super useful for one slot you go from getting not full hunger from the best dishes in the game such as meaty stew and tall scotch eggs to getting 100 percent of their value these are definitely the best hunger dishes unless you want to waste your time mining alot of ice in winter
And I suppose if you farm you could eat crops but as a single player meaty stews and tall scotch eggs are the most effective and time efficient
Also TREEs GROW FROM STUMPS idk why people don't know that diggin the stumps is a annyoing thing about Maxwell that can't be turned of for some reason that means If I were to have a tree farm at base I would have to replant it every single time instead of just having it grow back point is having to dig the stumps shouldn't be counted as that's useless anyways
Umm I'm sorry to say this but no trees don't grow from stumps that's a myth that I hear from a couple of players and idk were it comes from
something you didnt mention for Maxwel is that he dosnt lose sanity to shadow gear, such as sword or armour
I watched the whole video, I am very pleased. Just started getting into DST with my friends.
I believe it works on wormwood since it's an effect not a heal :) Good shout
I can't say I agree with some of the difficulties, Wolfgangs mightiness is certainly harder to manage than just... playing the game in comparison to Wilson for example. But it's still an absolutely concrete video none the less.
my sanity is at ~2 irl because i literally sat through the whole 3 hour video without breaks/multitasking. great video, please stop uploading i want to do other things.
1:44:59 FYI nitre is also renewable via Petrified trees or with the help of Wilson's transmutation.
The wiki was right about webber, but it only hapens on multiplayer
Walter is worse than Wes, change my mind.
Aggravates me Wilson can't craft potions but Wendy can.
Been waiting for this video the moment the last rework happened 🔥
Glad you'll play more characters now! means more fun

LANTURNS ARE IN THE GAME?! SINCE WHEN?! I’VE BEEN PLAYING FOR 4 YEARS!
Prepare to do this again with all new characters skill trees!!!!!
Just got back into dont starve. Best timing ever.
id love to see a guide of pairings for each characters and how to divide work! like wx and wendy or others
What I learned:
1: Wanda is busted but really hard to play correctly
2: Wigfrid is busted but Jake wishes a curse upon her and her lineage
Wigfrid very powerful yesyes
THREE HOURS, HOLY WALONY JAKEY!!!!
You’re the man, thanks for this. Great video
2:21:56 ok that actually got me
just a small suggest for next time if there are any. swap difficulty to ease of playing(use) so the higher number mean the better as the rest of the score.
I was using this as background noise then I hear a small bit of burning sunset from the car
This video would have been perfect, to every minute detail, if not for that blinking inventory slot 2:51:40
Just kidding, this video is amazing and i loved every minute of it
😭
another tip for solo wurt: Normaly wurt cant eat eggs but you can use eggs as filler in the crockpot sometimes so you can use your meat!
I haven’t played Dont Starve in quite a while, and I usually play Together, but wow WX-78 is totally different from what I remember. That’s my go-to character!
man the amount of work put it into this video is crazy
Makes me almost feel bad for Willow pre-skill tree xD. Willow mains feasting now.
And your teammates will laugh at you because the balloon will appear on their map.” Most accurate thing ever.
Bro what the hell was this Walter intro? My neighbours called police because i laughed so hard
Good 😊
winnonias light should have a trail of light rather than just a single spot of light
