Anyone else feel like Ridiculon really hit his stride with the repentance OSTs? Because basically everything added is a banger.
I love how you can tell that he's gotten better over time, which is saying a lot bc rebirth's ost alone is one of my favorites lol
@@modestmismagius105 yeah, it's impressive he managed to go above the already high bar he set for himself.
He’s started to understand. Look how the game drove the music before, BUT now the music drives the game. All of the new soundtracks are much bolder and in your face as where the others were mostly trying to be the background. Look at dogma. The music drives that fight and the “oh shit” moment isn’t the boss, it’s the sound/music playing instead.
Ridiculon is 2 guys that really started to get better than they already were after they made the OST for The End Is Nigh
YES I just listened to the whole repentance album with all the song and they are unbelievable. I loved the og songs but god these ones are so layered and well made that I can't help but sit in the rooms in game and just listen lol.

The only thing keeping me remotely sane when I get ashpit is the fact that this song slaps so hard it breaks concrete
the circling guitar riff at 3:24 is just killer and hypnotic. definitely one of my most favorite parts from the repentance soundtrack, it just really melts your brain if you've been listening up to that point

First impressions are already good because I love things that are black and white.

Love how the original floors from Antibirth have the similar Ridiculon style for the combat layers, aka an added guitar. But the entirely new floors have a totally new style for the combat layer. It's dope. ^-^

My favourite stage in the game by far. The theme of ash, the visuals, the enemies and of course the ost - everything fits together so well

All of the repentance music goes so unbelievably hard it's insane. This song blows me away and the fact it's for the binding of issac is mind blowing.

Repentance about to make history as the best piece of DLC ever made. Godly music, unholy polish, shitloads of content. Like WTF.
On a side note, Afterbirth† is probably one of the most controversial/not so well received ones.
Afterbirth† gives the native modding support so it's the most important DLC so far even though the new bosses have rather unfair designs (and several other major flaws)
@@ginger88895 Tbh, even considering mod support, the content added in repentance is to me still superior. Mods are nice and all, but repentance just added so much that I can't see it being better. Not to mention antibirth is better than any other mod out there by a long shot, in my honest opinion. Don't misunderstand me, not saying AB+ was bad, or that mod support ain't important. All I'm saying is that I like repentance more. Just an opinion, not a fact.
Well since I used to play AB+ together with tons of mods, having them suddenly all vanish along the release of repentance makes me feel like... game over in a game breaking run? Hopefully modding support will return for repentance, then we can definitely say repentance is the best DLC ever
@@ginger88895 It will return for repentance! Edmund said that modding support will be disabled at launch, but it will come back in an upcoming update. So we just got to wait a bit while playing the new dlc

While most tracks only have the electric guitar come in during the combat layer, here it is present all the time, representing dry smoldering heat.

It’s a shame the hard af guitar solo only plays when you’re fighting enemies, its dynamic yeah but I want to hear this all the time
You can record Apeshit music with layer and replace it with basic music. Its hard, because you need to make new layer with no sounds, but its still possible
I like the subtle metal to stone sound in place of snares.
Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill. Isaac kept to himself, drawing pictures and playing with his toys as his mom watched Christian broadcasts on the television.
Life was simple, and they were both happy.
That was, until the day Isaac's mom heard a voice from above: "Your son has become corrupted by sin! He needs to be saved!"
"I will do my best to save him, my Lord," Isaac's mother replied, rushing into Isaac's room, removing all that was evil from his life.
Again, the voice called to her:
"Isaac's soul is still corrupt! He needs to be cut off from all that is evil in this world and confess his sins."
"I will follow your instructions, Lord. I have faith in thee," Isaac's mother replied, as she locked Isaac away in his room, away from the evils of the world.
One last time, Isaac's mom heard the voice of God calling to her:
"You have done as I asked, but I still question your devotion to me. To prove your faith, I will ask one more thing of you."
"Yes, Lord. Anything," Isaac's mother begged.
"To prove your love and devotion, I require a sacrifice. Your son Isaac will be this sacrifice. Go into his room and end his life as an offering to me, to prove that you love me above all else!"
"Yes, Lord," she replied, grabbing a butcher's knife from the kitchen.
Isaac, watching through a crack in the door, trembled in fear. Scrambling around his room to find a hiding place, he noticed a trapdoor to the basement, hidden under his rug. Without hesitation, he flung open the hatch just as his mother burst through his door and threw himself down into the unknown depths below.

Okay. This tracks is interesing.
The background guitar being repetitive, but there so many little thing to the sides.
This tracks feels like exploring, hearing their small details where mostly feels the same. Like a cave. An ashy cave. With that layer letting us now that is the ashpit with it hot expression, like the guitar amplifies in our skin, burning us. Adding that danger of being trap in a big pit with that deep solo, as looking to the top.
Is hard at first, but so... Intriguing to just listen to it again when it becomes familiar.
By the way is 3am right now. I need to sleep.
