    You have to have $1,000 put to the side. Then you have to have $300 for 6 months in your bank account. Then you have to have a part-time job. Then your credit score got to be 6:40 or higher. Then you got to go to section 8 classes for money management. There you go.

    You have to figure the numbers, then make that accordingly. Dilemmas good real estate agents know how to advise you on how to make work. It seems like it would be a tight squeeze in not making too much to qualify for Section 8, yet somehow make enough to qualify to buy a home. I'm guessing places like Houston where homes are more affordable would make the numbers even possible to work.

    It depends what state you live in. California has the highest home buying price in the nation. It also depends how much you earn . If you're on SSI , Social Security or disability or have a low income then it takes forever to save up for the down payment. In high residential states it's very difficult. The way the program works it that it matches whatever you pay rent each month and puts it in an account for a certain amount of time. With that income you can buy a home. The catch is that it has to be earned income from a W-4 , self employment etc. Any kind go government assistance then section 8 doesn't qualify you for the program.

      This is how it works. Since there are SO many people in big cities, they can only open their lists to accept applications once in a blue moon. You have to stay on top of them. You have to call them on a regular basis to see if their list is open. And when they do take applications they have a lottery pull. IF they draw your name and you still qualify for a voucher you'll get one. If they don't draw your name, you have to go thru the process all over again. It can take years to get a housing voucher but you can't give up.

      "Its redistribution of wealth aka taking someone elses money without their consent to give to another person that hasn't earned it."
      What you are describing is profit for the ownership class. The ownership class is not productive, does not work, and is parasitic. They are made up of people who simply own businesses (or shares of businesses) and take the difference between their costs (including salaries) and their revenue and then keep the difference, aka "profit." That profit (aka the worker's "excess value") and their owner (unless they are a worker as well) did not earn any of the money; the workers did. It's wealth distribution from the productive working class to the parasitic capitalist class. If you are opposed to people taking money they have not earned, you should be opposed to the ownership class, not working, and disabled people trying to simply avoid being homeless. If people were paid what they were actually worth (such as in co-ops), most would not need assistance. Instead, the ownership class, like the Walton family, pays their workers starvation wages and expects the taxpayer to subsidize their low wages with things like Medicaid, food stamps, and Section 8.

    Do they require the people to take care of the property, pay their HOA fees, and not bring trashy ass habits into nice neighborhoods? I get wanting a better life but why bring ghetto behaviors into it?

    • @marigailcooper8925
      @marigailcooper8925 Год назад +10

      Yes. We voucher holders have to take care of the property and homes. If not, the housing authorities will not pay their portion of the mortgage. We still have annual inspections on our homes and properties to make sure we're maintaining them and that everything is in proper working order. I pay my HOA fees and I do not have nasty habits. I too was a taxpayer for many years before becoming disabled. I'm not ghetto either. This is why many people won't take housing vouchers anymore because they associate them with ghetto behaviors. I've had homeowners tell me that's the reason they won't take housing vouchers which is why it's extremely difficult to find a nice home to rent.
