I've explained "warning shots" to CCW classes like this: So, you have a suspect whose words/actions have put you in such imminent, immediate fear of death/grave bodily injury, that you felt compelled to put a live, loaded gun in your hands...and you DELIBERATELY MISS the suspect who's threatening you? And, how reasonable is it to endanger your neighbors and other innocent bystanders by INTENTIONALLY MISSING said suspect?
Always look forward to hearing your thoughts & insights on different topics. Would like to see what your take is (e.g., response, shots taken, failures etc) on the attempted assassination in Butler PA
In my state pointing a firearm at someone is a $25.00 fine.. When the cop told me that I handed him a $50.00 and told him I was paid up in advance for TWO incidents! (True story)...
Great topic but did you hear the one about the bank guard who could not afford bullets in his revolver great humor great video thanks Brent and Tom and Eric

I saw the photo of the Navy commander. I didn't have a good opportunity to look at it until now and, well, not only is the scope mounted backwards, but where are the scope mounts? Our local gun club is hosting their annual hunter's sight in the next two weekends. That is guaranteed to be interesting!
I haven't listened to this yet, but I remember the old joke of a cop firing a warning shot to the back of the head of a perp running away from them. This was from a much, much different time, when one could get away with morbid jokes. And no, neither myself nor anyone else that I can think of would actually endorse this.
To Fire or Not? The Truth About Warning Shots and Self-Defense | Ep. 236 If I am forced to draw my gun to defend my life there will be no warning shot. The gun does not get drawn or used unless my life is on the line.

I've seen that pic/meme of Former Commander Deadeye about 100 times now and did read last week that he had been relieved of command. If I were him, I would spend the rest of my life tracking down the seaman who handed me that weapon and said, "Here you go Cap, just a quick couple for our Instagram page!!!" But how does this not show off to it's best, our new Woke Military? I would think this would fit right in?!?! Oh yeah, the first two warning shots center of mass and I imagine the situation dictating the third warning shot. That's just too serious for a warning shot. I can't imagine that stopping a bad incident that's already in progress.
I'm just a nobody, but I've been around firearms for almost 75 years and I've carried almost every single day of my life since I was 16 years old. I've had the opportunity to teach quite a few young people how to handle weapons, how to protect themselves, and how to track, trap and hunt amongst other things... I know this is long winded and I do apologize but I'd like to suggest some things I haven't read in the comments here that might help others. I was taught and I also taught my children and several others that You never draw your firearm in a confrontational situation unless you are fully prepared to take a life, and intend on doing so. You are FAR better off if the aggressor does not know that you are armed until you are reasonably sure you will need to use it. A lot of psycho men will see you're pulling a firearm as a direct challenge and even more will think you don't have the balls to actually pull the trigger. Why make yourself force your own hand? Why lose the element of surprise, why chance giving your attacker even the slightest advantage of knowing you are armed? You also ALWAYS have to remember that as you are armed you have a much greater responsibility to try to avoid violence, even if it means eating a little shit and walking away. HOWEVER you also cannot if at all possible allow another person to lay hands on you or even get close enough to do so if they are aggressive! Once someone overpowers you THEY will now be the one who is armed, and will be armed with YOUR firearm! Do you want the responsibility of knowing a hostile person now has YOUR sidearm? Even if they do not kill YOU with it what if they kill someone else? If you think you need to carry a sidearm then you also should understand you most likely need some training in hand to hand as well! Man or woman it NEVER HURTS to take self defense courses! And PERSONALLY I highly recommend that people take boxing lessons BEFORE they start to learn any Martial Arts... Boxing is one of the more easily learned arts there is out there, but it will give you the fastest useful results, along with teaching you eye hand coordination, learning to gauge distance and rhythm, and so so much more and those skills are all transferable to the other Martial arts! Also I personally think someone with basic simple boxing skills can defeat 90% of the aggressors out there! The number of people who actually know how to fight is surprisingly low (at least in my experience anyhow)... I hope my input can help a little, even if it starts a conversation on "how to" or "why" etc.
I agree with Tom for citizen use of CCW. If the situation dictates drawing my weapon to defend my life, a warning shot should never be considered.
That gives a whole new meaning to point shooting.

If you fire at the ocean repeatedly and often enough, if you're standing on Guam, the recoil will prevent the island from flipping over.
Not if all of the military equipment is on one side. It will capsize, and flip over.

If you need the squeeze send it true. Don't question your choice, gut rules.
I personally know of two older men who are felons for firing warning shots.
Neither went to prison but ARE felons, and this is in a RURAL area.
There are lots of weird laws about discharge of a firearm and brandishing out there. Definitely a risk! - Tom

But Biden said....
Yep he said to take a double barrel shotgun and fire it to scare off intruders. ( And then you are holding an empty gun. Pretty dumb)😅😅😅
If you do they charge you with attempted assault with a firearm.
You mean the Central Casting Biden. The actor Biden.
A guy did that and tried to use Biden as his defense, don't think it worked.
And an AR-15 shoots a bullet 5 times faster than any other bullet.

That scope is a Trijicon VCOG. The mount is part of the scope itself.
They do it in the movies, and on TV all of the time, so it must be sound tactics.
Where the serious operators go to train... - movies! - Tom
Well, to be fair, it's movies AND TV. As we all know, TWO reliable sources.
No warning shots
