No Mama Yong does not need to go back to Korea, it’s obvious this woman had a very negative experience when she went back. It wasn’t tolerated being with someone outside your race back then especially a black man or woman. Mama Yong is celebrated and appreciated where she is, she does not need to fly somewhere that will only open old wounds. For being 73 yrs old she is so strong and resilient. Go head Mama Y you truly are a gem and appreciated!!❤
It is unbelievable that this woman doesn't have her own talk show by now "Network's what are y'all waiting on this woman and her son is a GOLD MINE‼️🗣️💯
I am black Korean and I feel Johnathan when he said they don’t really fool with mama young cause she messed with a black dude. My grandfather brought my grandmother to the US 60 years ago, and we have never met any of her folks. Kind of sad
heard a few years back that some places literally don't let foreigners in (they'd have signs posted). hard to believe for a such a "progressive" country
And blasians are the most good looking! So sad they didnt even give it a chance- I’m black Chinese and Indian mix- my parents sides involved my grandparents with the other race- so my moms dad grandpa was full blooded Chinese (his last name is Chin- 😂can’t get more Asian than that) and he married my grandmother moms side who’s black and Indian (India the country) but mostly black- with soft curls- then on my dads side both his parents are Chinese descent and his grandmother was the last to speak mandarin fully- died in California - lol where all the Asians reside- but my dads biological Chinese dad abandoned him at 2 and my Chinese grandmother remarried a black man who is the only dad my father knows. So kinda funny my Chinese dad now in his 60s talking to his stepdad who’s full black “dad” to this day 🤣 I’m sure ppl get confused at first.
Most of the older Koreans I know from Philadelphia, DC, New Orleans, etc. speak fluent Ebonics because they often settled into Black communities. I also find Korean food and Soul Food to be very similar in some ways. I love the unity their family represents.
reminds me of my grandma and even sounds like her too! my grandma came to America from korea in like the 1970s after being an army chef and barley made Korean food or ever spoke Korean to my mom. She was always making Italian or American or Mexican or whatever and loved cooking. She even said slang like ¨you gon eat that homegirl¨ because of the area she lived in. its just really heart warming to see this cuz it reminds me alot
In all humility, Asian parents can definitely be overbearing and cold, I’m sure there’s a bit of pain buried beneath all that charm and witt, I lost my Mom & Father when I was young… I truly don’t squander the parental figures I have in my life🕊️🙏🤣
I❤ mama Yong and Johnathan! She just keeps it all the way real! She don’t play but it’s clear she loves her son and his beautiful lil family. Y’all keep shining! Continued blessings!

She did a good job for just learning by watching people. I like the fact that she cook like us! But we gotta teach Mama how to make a roux! But i love her, my Mama Korean and she talks this way, less swearing but very similar.

Mama Yong is blessed to have a loving son and friends. She’s made a decent life for herself and that’s something to be proud of in spite of the rejection from family members. She also has a lot of love and support from ppl all over the world. She found love and happiness with those of us that appreciate her for who she is. And that is Golden !! The gumbo looks fire but the shrimp & crab should be the very last protein added because it cooks fast and if overcooked the shrimps texture will be too tuff & the crab meat will shrink but hey each is own.

I loooove this!! She reminds me of my mama! We grew up in the “hood” and her and my auntie opened a chicken wing restaurant that was ALWAYS busy! She taught me how to “grease” the wheels of the “gov’t workers” so even though her restaurant was in the hood, a cop was always there at closing to make sure these two Asian ladies made it to their car safely at night. One time, I mentioned her restaurant during a driving test and the super stern driving instructor’s face completely melted! It was his FAVORITE lunch place! I passed!!! Lololol… She also used to call Fatback “FatFat”
She's sure right about cleaning the sausage. I think most if not, some old folks wash all kinds of meat before they cook them. their given knowledge and experience behind it plays a huge part. My mom, aunts, and grandmothers would also do the same, and that's coming from both black and white ethnic backgrounds, they all do. My mother taught me to wash all my clothes that i bought from the store before wearing them as she used to work in a clothes factory she said they would throw the fabrics on the floor, etc. And so now I'm consciously aware of these factors. 😊
That's amazing. She is an amazing lady. Funny thing is I know a lady just like her except a lil older and japanese. Married to an African American dude who used to run numbers... Uf u get my drift. A bookie at the national airport. She was all tattoo out dude. She spoke English like mama there. I miss her. We used to party all night at her bar restaurant across the St from a police station. We really used to do it up. In the early 80s. Thanx for the memories.... Ken eno
Yes mama Yong! She has acquired AA culture- because you know we don’t play about washing meat. So glad she seems to be living her best life. She deserves it!

Very well said..I left Korea over 50 years ago....and they still a little ignant!
Been watching for a while mama for a while...still like that! Mama know you got a clean 🍖!!
That’s crazy that her relatives don’t mess with her cuz she had a black baby and stood beside him she gets all my respect 🫡
I am surprised it's new to you. It seems to me you avoid negative news, which I wanna adapt😊
That’s why I don’t like Korea
It's not that crazy. Asians don't like race mixing and a lot of African Americans now are pushing black love only. It's not a foreign concept.
Nothing new
Yea, old Asian people he racist as hell
She sounds just like one of my black aunties. I love this woman
Dude as an Indian who sees US culture through movies, series and youtube, she be looking like the actual black grandma we have in my mind.
Right? I feel so at home. I guess we got to visit the bakery to pay our respects. 😊😋✨
@forkrust9296 she is spot on. When Asians marry black men or are raised in black area, they take on black culture and mannerisms.
@HandofHolmes for sure, I pass it daily going to the houston va medical center. After fighting with traffic, I don't even feel like stopping.

Korean fried chicken was introduced by black gi’s, it’s literally the same lol
