@@AirRedbox I was actually humming the song as the original alongside it and I just couldn't do it on the solo because of how different it was, kept throwing me off "pace" per say 😅
The added clarity makes this classic even better
May 22 I think their doing a live event for this whole album. I was able to watch the Christmas special which was sick of course.
I tend to really dislike super "clean" and sterile production but it is what it is. I'll mainly be listening to it to see all of the changes they made but then back to the original for normal listening
@@asterisk606 I think leveler was ironically just leveled wrong. It's fuzzy and all over the place. Funny enough I thought Guardians was in the same boat. Some people hate on phantom for being over produced, but in Guardians you can barely hear Jake I feel like. This version is much better. It's just 2021 production. Nothing overly complicated or upsetting like the Messangers remaster that's really bad. Lol

Best band ever. Humble, hard, talented, persistent, ingenious, and won’t sell out. Can’t ask for better. This band when I was only 16 was on a small site called pure volume hadn’t even come out with messengers yet. Knew this band would win.

@BreakingCankles Your little suburbia is in ruins was my introduction to them too from a Solid state sampler cd. Immediately hooked, went and bought thrill seeker and spent my sophomore year of high school in my room learning guitar parts to all those songs. Been a fan since the beginning, and there's always been something special about each new release. I may prefer songs over others but there is seriously not one song they've ever written I straight up did not like.
I bought this album at warped tour the year it came out so I could have the guys sign it. Later on during their show, someone kicked me in the leg and cracked the CD case. I don’t know why, but I feel that cracked case completes it. Tons of memories associated with it, I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years.

Man I remember when I bought this record on release day. I rode my bike the farthest I ever did to my local FYE to get it and The Flood from OM&M. So stoked to celebrate this record ❤

I could go on about many of the same things people are mentioning, cause it would all be true, but man i can't help but notice how much Jake has improved his vocals over the years. So much so, that I actually wish that this song was entirely his to scream and not including Kirby, and Kirby is a beast in his own right. But Jake when leveler first came out compared to Jake now is just incredibly different.
Also, finally being able to hear Pangaea live, albeit on a livestream....my neighbors will be reminded that I am alive in this apartment lol. I'm so excited for this release, Leveler was the album that really drew me into ABR even when i was introduced to them with constellations oddly enough.
This is a masterpiece
I can't tell you how many of your songs make me tear up. So much heart and thought goes into the lyrics. And there are so many take aways a lesson to be learned. God bless you guys

I like the remastered version but i will say this. this album didn't need to be rerecorded. it was fine the way it was. I still personally like the og mix better. good job though guys!!

Yeah, this song is notable for how much more punch the original recording had.
This one lacks a bit of power, I feel.
That and the most recent FFAK album has soured me somewhat on Ryan's features.

Not a fan of remaking anything as is, and Leveler had such a crisp sound.
Particularly the drums which are a bit less intense here.

This was the one I listened to on repeat growing up. Forever a favorite.
I loved Guardians but I was a little concerned that Jake was moving away from this more raw, brutal vocal style. So relieved to hear him slay this re-make and stoked for the rest of the album.

I haven't listened to Leveler in a while but I can hear the differences. This is one of my favorite songs on the album, and I love this new version.
The one thing you can count on with ABR, everything they do is absolutely amazing! I'm never disappointed.
Leveler is still one of my all time favorite metal albums, I can't believe it came out 10 years ago, thats absolutely wild. I feel old now.

It's really cool to have a new version, but leveler for me already had a fat crispy mix! excited to hear the whole album again and see what's changed!
Leveler, along with all albums before Phantom Anthem, sounded amaaaazing production wise. I wish more bands went in that direction instead of the sterile, hyper articulate mixes.
@@asterisk606 the bass stood out for me the most on leveler and the mix was sooooo good, I must admit it took me a couple of years to really appreciate the album as constellations was always a favourite for me
@@chrismortimer5269 leveler has been my favorite album since it dropped. It's super unique and it really shows that they wanted to try different things. While keeping up with messengers and constellations. I think their lest received album was rescue and restore. I honestly forget about that album all the time.
the Leveler era was the first time i ever saw ABR live and was pretty much where i discovered ABR. Leveler will always be my favorite album from these guys and can't fucking wait to hear the rest. hope we get a 10 year tour for this album!!!

Frigging awesome! The LEVELER album is an underrated masterpiece that has always needed a facelift (I wasn't a fan of Jason Suecof's production on the original), and here we are. It sounds so much better!!
Agreed. The production was always an issue for me. Fortunately, I think this is the last album that needs remastered/re-recorded.
I remember my gf at the time buying this CD for me for my birthday! First ABR record I owned and listened to fully. So much love for this album, love the re-recordings!
