to fast and flat on final. I had 160 hp rv3. what hp is this. i know this is now an old video. mine you rapidly apply throttle and forward stick and by the time i had full throttle you could ease the stick back and be flying quickly.

Really enjoyed the video, as most of my time is in tailwheel planes, how hard was your adjustment to the speed and float of these little birds. Keep thinking I would love to get a 3 or 4 but know the approach is faster than what I'm used to.

I'm not a good pilot. But if you want to fly cool, cheap airplanes you have to fly a tailwheel. Side slip hard. Go around as many times as you need to. Get a glider rating. Don't be married.

I know this is an old video but I'm curious what the fix was for the bounced/go-around landings. I'm a student pilot with an embarrassing amount of hours (60+) and I know that soft field technique in a Cherokee has me leaving in a bit of power until touchdown and then chopping power. Is this the fix or was your airspeed simply too high at touchdown?

There's no solution, just practice. If you haven't soloed yet, take six months off, get a different instructor, definitely get a different airplane. Try model airplanes, model airplane simulators. Learn how to skydive. If you don't have unlimited money, get a glider license first.

@@omrsramsay Thanks for the advice…maybe paper airplanes? I’ll stick it out. I started flying in the Midwest, covid hit, moved, started flying in the east, and lost 3 instructors to the airlines. Also the flight schools have crap planes. I’m on the home stretch doing cross countries. In my experience so far, it seems like a supportive community for the most part where people like to share experiences, answer questions, and give advice.

How does it perform differently to the other RV's in the same series of aircraft from Van's aircraft? If I was going to put a converted car engine in one.......what type of car engine would you most reccomend? Are you using a gps in this plane to help you navigate? How much equipment does it take to make?

You are asking the wrong questions of the wrong person. Answers to your questions can be found at vansairforce.net.
