Another great teaching from Freidman. I really appreciate your teachings, before you l had alot of unanswered questions about God moreover l grew up in Christian society, the society that believes that humans born evil and devil is enemy of human.I used to ask my self that if it is like that why God allow devil to exist? This question was made me angry when l meet the challenges. Because l was feeling like God is not helping me. When l came across this great man on the you tube l begin to watch his lectures. In the process l came across certain lecture that talked about definition of God and how the earth created. Slowly l begin to know the God better than before. Now l feel like l know God better than everbody In My tiny country of Malawi as l have different views from the rest of people here who are dominanted by Christian perspective of who God is. Sometimes when am talking to the people on my perspective about God that l learned from here they say am pagan or etheist. I really enjoy your lectures l would like if l can meet you physically to ask questions l have but it can't happen coz of where lam 😅

But there is a big difference! Manis Friedmann would never verbally attack another religion, Singer does that all the time. Nobody picks on us Christians more than Tovia Singer. Maybe he should talk to Rabbi Friedmann and ask him whether it makes sense to do that.

We are taught that we should acknowledge God. There are debates between God Believers vs Atheist, videos proving God exist, videos sharing their testimony about their encounter with God, etc. But all I can say is this should not be argued or proved to people. The problem of this world is not whether a person believes in God or not, but our attitude. The world will change if people will change within. Be nice, be kind, help those who are in need, change anything that is bad in yourself.

My proof came from the first time I stepped into a shul.
I was not Jewish, my parents aren’t, my grandparents and great grandparents aren’t Jewish either. I had only ever met a single Jew (who didn’t speak Hebrew).
I had never even seen the Hebrew script until that day and I had never heard Hebrew spoken.
Yet when Ashrei was sung… I knew the words. I sang along with the Minyan.
That was the day I was convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt.

The one Jewish person I knew, Ben, was a close friend.
I called myself an Atheist at the time.
But one day, during college, I looked at my friend group and asked myself “are these the people I want around me for the rest of my life, influencing my children?”. And the answer was a resounding “NO”.
Except for Ben. I wanted Ben, and people like him, to be around me and my family. Clearly there was something different about him. So I asked if I could go with him on Shabbos.
How did I know the words? Because my neshama was there at Maten Torah and heard HaShem with the rest of klal yisroel. There is no earthly reason I should have known those words.
Ashrei came way after Mt Sinai but thank you for sharing!

@@samihassan5158 don't look at it or consider it to be negative or "mud" be grateful & thankful!!! theres alot of people out there who are actually sleeping in mud right now with nothing to eat or drink yet they are happy to be in that "mud". We all can learn something from these people, the true key to happiness that leads to a very productive fulfilled life!

long time ago, i was in a full church and when everyone prayed together, i felt a presence or some kind of energy and it was palpable. i never felt that same energy (presence) when praying alone. i tend to believe that there is "something" in the vocal vibration of prayer. what that is exactly, i don't know.

The last time I saw God and got to visit with him I asked him why he ever created anyone and he told me that he was alone and he wanted someone to love and someone to love him. God is the first person I ever met in my life, thee first time I met him was before I was born but I didn't know anything about the concept of God, I had to wait until after I was born to find out that he is God. There is only one God that can save you from hell.

That is amazing: I had a purpose before: Now i have a disc prolaps and i am needy for getting rid of pain. So what do you want to tell me ?: G-d created my like GM a car, and now the hardy slice is a warranty case ? All days i read torah and i make phyisics, i like to beliefe in G-ds universal creation, every day of pain, i have severe doubts about his engineering. Why did he not make spinal discs exchangeable and havning created a spinal - disc - fruit - plant ? Just to harvest spinal discs: Open the compartment, refresh the pump for a better jump ? Open the body, all that laborious surgery , that blood, the studying for a doctors graduate : Just create a lock - cell and a hatch - tissue and a plant growing discs. Why no access for maintenance ? Why no do it yourself - kits ? Now i need sports, i dont need, but i need it to get rid of the pain, so i am needy... Now i need money for the sports, a car to get to the place i can make sport, money for pain - takers, i need a pharmacist, i need industry, i need electronics for the production, i need a lorry for delivery, i need a machine producing the lorry for the painkiller, i need a machinery for too, - to be manufactured by electronics, chemistry, metallurgy and a university for the education of engineers for trucks, drugs, and an architect for the building the pharmacist does have his store and and and and and and i need an entire nation of technical standard ........., because of a missing refreshment - maintenance - kit. And the question is: WHY ? I know,... that i was forced to a inner peace to watch Manis Friedman at european 6 am after no sleep for the sake of.... poor engineering. That is not true that we do not worke against death anymore, why work against death the work against death is causing death, by chemicals, asbestos, radiation, and all that industrial comfort of being killed by the achievment of modern civilisation. Nothing has improved, now death is man - made - thats all.

As someone who built technological solutions for the US healthcare system and has received an award from the American Medical Association and a Rosicutian, not a person in a dark room somewhere but that type of person, I can give you my reason. Fear of death was never part of it, giving people a better quality of life and longer life was my purpose. Why bother, why work myself to death? I thought it would give people a better chance to be good. Healthier, happier, longer life = better chance to find God and be a better person. I've recently come to the conclusion that I was wrong. People find goodness and God through hardship and suffering. Luckily, for everyone, I've chosen a life of no intentional harm, but that doesn't require me to help anymore.
As Mr rabbi Friedman says, read the bible with the ego in check. Everything good we do is a contribution, keep up the good work!

Yes on relationship. Honest question: why can’t the creator be both male and female at the same time and then decided to create two humans, male and female and maybe over time it has changed? Blended, some separate, some elsewhere on the continuum of creation.
Adam, the first human, was created with both male and female aspects, and was later separated into two distinct beings, male and female, as it was not good for them to be alone.
This creation story suggests that God, in whose image Adam was created, also encompasses both male and female qualities, but in a divine way that transcends human understanding.

If you Don't think God exists, look around you.
In my humble opinion God‘s romantic emotion isn’t primary cause for our world. Our world and his „romantics“ are rather a consequence of god’s nature.
Being god means being „one“. But can he also become one while he is already one? If not, he isn’t almighty. But he can. He is a Paradoxon, exactly like Torah: „a tree which is fruit and which makes fruit“.
Being one is his eternal essence out of our world. Becoming one is his essence in our world. Humans are made out of both those essences. When we die, his temporary part in us stays here and his eternal part in us becomes one with his eternal root.

I agree with your definition of god. But that is not what people usually mean when they mean "god". We kind of need another word for the "thing" at the beginning, from which every other derived. Because with god there is a strong annotation that it is some kind of intelligent beeing. Which it doesnt have to be.
I also agree with purpose. You cant have a purpose if someone doesnt give it to you. It wont spring ouf of existence by its own. But that as well is a concern with the definition of the word.
I disagree with the notion, that purpose needs to be communicated. It doesnt. I could image lots of scenarios where its better that the inital purpose isnt communicated:
Matrix Movie, Purpose of Humans = Energy Cell; it would/is very disruptive if that purpose is known.
I do find the idea of the origin of the need for purpose interesting. Why do we have it, since every other need that we have is rooted in survival, purpose isnt. At least at first peek. To view it in relation we have to compare how many needs does the human have, how many of those are needed for survivival, how many arent. If there is only one other need (purpose) that is not needed for survival, then it is "weird/interesting". But if there are many many others, then it isnt significant at all. Examples for others: Desire for beatuy/asthetics; Desire for symmetry
That comparison is absolutely essentiell to the significance, but it is missing in this video.

Rather than Tikkun Olam having the meaning of "Fixing" the World, it is a repairing (and that doesn't necessarily mean a two-state solution! lol)... but "fixing" could imply something has been stopped, like a crucifixion.

@paulawallace8784 Blood sacrifices were continued by the Jewish priests for the forgiveness of sins in Jerusalem, in the 2nd Temple, until the summer of 70 AD when Titus/ Roman legions destroyed it. Without the temple, the specific details of how the sacrifices, described in the Torah, could not be carried out. Isaiah lived 600- 700+ years before that under the 4 Kings of Judah. Study harder.
