Soft drink just means it has no alcohol in it. Soda refers to the drink having effervescence from the added Carbon dioxide.

Here in Minnesota we’ve always called it pop
When dogs smell, a small portion of air they breathe gets “stored” in the back of their noses specifically for smelling, instead of all going to the lungs like humans. Plus they can bring in fresh air through the nostrils while exhaling it at the same time! So I’m not sure if Link’s picking up his dogs habit will have the same effect haha
they call it a soft drink because there's no alcohol
from what history I know, they’re called “soft” drinks because they used to be served as an alternative to “hard” liquors at bars.

@@tweezerjam I believe you're mistaken, they did do a "Carbonated Food Taste Test" 3 years ago, but no carbonated beverages.
I took the word combos and mixed them up and put them into an anagram maker, and many of them don’t make funny anagrams. Therefore, many of these combos they’re giving Rhett & Link are for the sole purpose of having an anagram that works hahah. That’s why they’re gross. It’s based on getting a good anagram not based on finding cool soda combos.

My friend's mom was a health food gal when we were growing up, so he never had any soda at his place (except for 7up/Sprite), but we had plenty at _my_ place. Back then I was solely a Mt. Dew kid... which his mom called: *_"Bunny Piss"_* 🤣🤣
