I got a chance to live there in the mid 70's as a 12-year-old coming from northern Michigan. I never wanted to leave! 1st drive-in. 1st GF, 1st fight after school...
Lakeside is my hometown. I grew up on julian ave. Went to lindo park elementary, then lakeside middle school class of 1986, then finally el capitan high school class of 1990. So many good memories of fun times with friends at lindo lake park. The rodeo, lakeside wetern days, the old movie theatre. Ahh good times
For 25 years I lived on the Dairy end of Willow Rd., on 4+ acres with a mountain view above the SD River Valley. I moved just before the "plan-demic' in 2019. Another, more important reason for the move, was due to a possible 20 year /600 trucks per day sand mine planned in the river bottom, right in front of my house. I lived in Lakeside longer than anywhere else, so it was home, and I do miss the view and the weather. It's cold at 5700 feet. (If I could have stretched the AZ state line past my house, I wouldn't have left).
Moving into house is a very, very, very fine house in Lakeside before New Years Eve 2021. With gophers in both the front and back yard, La-la, la-la-la la la...🧐
Michelle Jackson Lakeside and East County as a whole are becoming more and more diverse. We've had the pleasure of interviewing lots of business owners from around the world on our Everything East County show who've moved their families into the area to start their businesses.

Enjoy your home! Gophers can be a real pain, that's for sure.
Lakeside was well known as the meth capital of the United States for many years
It certainly has it's flaws, that is for sure. But what city doesn't?
Lakeside is a dump. Ryan r
Great feedback. Super helpful
Not a very diverse community. A lot of whites. I can only imagine another race/group of people moving there.... It would not be so welcoming.

Check the Wikipedia page for Lakeside 2010 Census, the Population is very diverse
@@TheWhisselWay I’ll check it out with my kids and see how it is.
