Beautiful choir, beautiful song and voices. Most of all, beautiful interpretation for all to sing about Love. How sad that choose to be so sad. Be more like Jesus...Love.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE. God is ONE. I find it so very sad that people would rather focus on their own lack of insight and understanding than to recognize .. that in this very room there IS quite enough room for ALL of us. By the way, I say that as a Christian who today commemorates that first Eucharist in the upper room ... when there was quite enough room to go around.
Sarah I, too, was raised in a Mormon home (I recognize your Mormon language), so I understand where you are coming from relative to the Trinity. Indeed, God does love his beloved LGBT sons an daughters, in spite of what the Mormon Church did to them here in California. YES, we are ALL children of God, and He sees what is done to His beloved in His Name.
As God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is omnipresent. I believe the Holy Spirit is there. They grieve, the presence probably won't manifest, but I believe they are there.
Can someone please tell me what they sang instead of "Jesus / Lord Jesus" here? I've listened to those parts like over a hundred times with the maximum volume on my computer, but still can't tell what the alternative words are. Thanks for answering my question!
OK - I sing with this choir and I can tell why we replaced "Jesus" with "Spirit." It is because we are an all inclusive choir and we believe we gain strength from supporting each other in a world where there is often little support or understanding for GLBTQI people. We have choir members from all religions and member's with no religion which, for us, is absolutley fine. We don't judge because we don't want to be judged. We accept anyone into our choir who respects GLBTQI people. It's the support, love, joy, hope and power we feel when we we are together (and in this very room) that is important (and if you want to know what that feels like, come sing with us - but you will need to leave your closed mind outside!) This is why we sing this particular song. So by using the word "Spirit" it leaves it to open the interpration of all our choir members as to what the song means for them. The fact that one song can have many meanings is what music is about.
But the Lord Jesus was the most inclusive yet exclusive individual ever to live. Did He not love everyone. Did He not die for our sins? One would think that it would be amiss to change this song. JIMHO
Sorry LifterWill I know many feel the same way as you but it is still a point of view an opinion, just as I'm sure you may see my opinion wrong. I do believe Heavenly Father wants us to love everyone including Gays and Lesbians. We ARE all children of God.
Jesus went by many names as his incarnations, learnings and vibrations re-created. He was Jmmanuel. And the scrolls now refer to him as SANADA. "MY SPIRIT, YOU ARE OMNIPOTENT. YOUR NAME IS HOLY." Angels sing and heaven listens. Prayers are heard. (Phoenix Rising)
I agree with you. Truly sad. I read someone else's reply about 'insight' and the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God being the same. They are 3 separate entities but serve the same purpose, therefore they are the same. When Christ died on the cross, that wasn't his anger when the world went dark and there were earthquakes, etc that was God the Father. Our Heavenly Father. He just watched his only Begotten Son be sacrificed for the sins of the world. Luke 23:46 I wonder who Christ is talking to? Himself?
I think the overall message you are trying to convey is great. God's love is for all! However, i agree that it's sad that you omit 'Jesus' from this song. Jesus IS LOVE :)!
2 of 2: He wants us all to come home to him. Please read Luke 23:46. Christ is talking to His Father, not himself. I do believe they all serve the same purpose so that is why in the bible it talks about one in the same. Hopefully I have not angered you-that was not my purpose at all.
They don't say Jesus because Jesus is not in the room. Ohh this spirit talk- only sadly the crooked spirit of living in sin in opposition to a Holy God
Don't blame Christians for this. Christians do not desecrate the foundations of the eternal family unit--like these people do. That is why the left the name of JESUS out of the song--they mock him!
You are correct, Dawn, But sin is still sin in the eyes of God. Jesus is the mediator between God and man. Jesus was covered with our sin on the cross, that is why God the Father had to turn his face from Jesus. Jesus in his manhood felt "forsaken". God is too Holy. Jesus and His Holy Spirit hears our prayers. God can not.
It is a shame they took Jesus' name out of the lyrics. I believe Jesus is in that room as he is omnipresent. Yes Jesus still loves gays, I love gays, I know many wonderful gays, but I don't agree with their lifestyles and don't appreciate the demonstrations some of them do. The Bible clearly says homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. I do pray for them. This is beautiful but grieves my heart.
beautiful music wrapped in divine purple ... thank you angels.

Such a beautiful song without Lord Jesus in this very room, how spirit of God will be!
Despite all the hate from the "christians" in the comment section, this is a beautiful rendition.
Perfect.
This is the reason for the Internet.
I enjoyed this very much -- especially the insertion of Spirit in the place of Jesus -- makes it more inclusive!

We are singing "Our Spirit, Our Spirit is in this very room".
Thanks!
Ah. I see. Very Adam and Eve interpretation.
They are right. They

Steven Endres ....The LGBT dont judge? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Full of sht
I'm not speaking for the whole LGBT community - I said our choir doesn't judge. Please read what I have written before you get abusive

You shall know know the truth and the truth shall set you free - JESUS CHRIST

He could be me
He could be in this very room

Yeah, you don't screw around with a text to that degree, sans the permission of the composer .... too bad.
I thought the lyrics mentioned Jesus somewhere? Must have been thinking of a different song.
After the first verse, it should be "Lord Jesus--Lord Jesus" is in this very room. Why the change?
Wanted to see a good version of this wonderful piece being performed--we'll keep looking.
I think the overall message you are trying to convey is great. God's love is for all! However, i agree that it's sad that you omit 'Jesus' from this song. Jesus IS LOVE :)!
If you're going to sing it sing it the way it's written it's not spirit it's Jesus
jesus is very stinky. ^.^
leave it to Christians to miss the point...LOVE!
Amen.

Your hateful ignorance proves you are a member of a hateful cult - not a loving follower of Christ.

And the God of Christianity is merciful and gracious yes......but He is not a hippie God that just sweeps sin under some rug.
There is perhaps a copyright infringement by deleting Jesus from the text, besides the fact that it turns it into a plastic song
Changing the lyrics is a violation of the copyright. If you don’t want to sing at the way it’s written, find a different song.
Why can't straight people join? Why do they discriminate?

true fact: jesus was secretly gay and on some nights he would sneak into mohammads cave and they would do gay sex n stuff lolz
How sad when you omit Jesus. Talk about discrimination, it's know wonder why so, many dislike LGBT. No thanks!!
weak.....
