Hey guys, You need to do things a bit more efficiently. Your officer should be completing as much of a 360 of the structure as possible to get a layout of the structure and indication of where the fire is located and to what extent. At the same time the firefighter should be stretching his line, forcing the door and then putting his mask on and then his gloves. By that time the officer is back with the nozzle man ready to go inside. It only takes one guy to flake out a line. Dont waste that man power. Maybe instead of using 3 guys to pull a line maybe you should have pulled a second line for a back up line.
Why dont we put on our masks first? Because your mask obscures your vision. There are enough trip hazards on a fire without you enhancing that with limiting your vision. The mask will begin to fog up very quickly without air attached to it. You cant apply water to the fire if things change rapidly if you dont have it in place while you are masking up. Your mask and gloves and hood are the last PPE applied before entering a structure.

Yea they are using the cheapest method of keeping the door open. Unfortunately it is also very obstructive when you attempt to advance that hose line and the door clamps the hose in the door and the door frame. A wedge will hold that door open for them. Not sure they had two out covered on this video.
