I shoot a α6000 with mostly vintage manual lenses, and animal eye autofocus is the only thing that makes me want to move to a more modern system. I need more cool images of my pets.
Back in Aug, I got a A7C (w/ f1.8 20mm and the 85mm) just for taking picture of my cats. Now saving some $ for a f1.4 for more light because I love the wide eyes look of my cats.
I have purchased the A7c recently, I sometimes find the animal eye autofocus doesn't always work or switch on properly with my dog, and none of the problems mentioned above, ie fur in the way etc. Beginning to think it is something I am doing wrong 🙃 Any tips?!
Now that cruising has started again, I wish someone would do a show on shooting out a bus window while it's going 60 mph, or 20, etc. Shutter speed, putting a lens against the glass, what lens? Trying to hold the camera level. (I use a level that slips into the hot shoe.) I wish someone would talk about this, but it seems to be too low class for any pro to even mention.
Fast glass and fast shutter to reduce that judder. Don't be afraid to push the iso, embrace the grain don't be afraid of it. Shoot wide open and experiment with the shutter speed and ISO to find what works then if you need more depth of focus close down the aperture and compensate for it with iso. ibis and and lens stabilisation helps but you need the dough gain access to such alien technology. Polarising filters are quite effective at subduing reflections. Many modern cameras have a software level HUD built-in but the easiest way to get a level picture is to shoot with a wider lens then crop in post. Also I'm sure someone has made either a video, article or forum post about this. Google can answer anything if you can use the right words.

@@shApYT Thank you. That’s what I’ve been teaching myself. Faster the movement, the faster the shutter. I just hoped there was a video somewhere.
