@seanforourke I recall seeing SOLAS at the Irish Heritage Center in Chicago, and having my head comPLETEly turned around as to the function of the guitar in a band like that. Doyle covered Bass, Drums and guitar all in one fell swoop... really inCREDible!!! Of course, it helped a lot to have such a great band behind you !!
JD must have the most powerful neck muscles in all of Celtic music.. and he is an AWEsome player, of course.Scope out his vid "John Doyle: Guitar Reels" (unaccompanied) ... just STAGGering... The chemistry between the two musicians here is breathtaking.
these 2 are brilliant, could listen all day to them. fantastic playing.
There sure has been a lot of their stuff show up on RUclips this summer it's great to see that happen. They are amazing, and really nice too.
John Doyle is just incredible! But with Liz by his side these 2 make up the finest duest on earth! x
Tie The Bonnet, Monaghan Twig, The Fair Wind, The Convenience. Wow!!! What a fantastic set from two of the best.
John Doyle is a legend. Solas were not the same without him.
