Installing Solar System in Cargo Trailer

- This is the second part of our solar system install in the cargo trailer. The first video we installed the solar panels on the roof and in this video we install the components. It is a nice beginner system. I know it needs a couple of other things and most likely by the time you see this video they have been done. What else do you think we need for our system?

I have the same solar set up in my car trailer, but I need to put a bench just like that one that’s a nice set up you got

Cool setup. I was thinking that I would put a disconnect on the positive from the battery. That would eliminate the sparking. That's obviously not a big deal, but I looked up the NEC and 690 says that there should be one.
Thanks for the video. I'm doing my homework to put a panel on my rig. I have a two battery inverter system on there, but I want to add solar.
Is your lights on a separate system or can you tie them into the 12v fuse block?
Your breaker needs to be in between the solar panels and the charge controller. I believe
I think you’re supposed to leave the batteries hooked up to your charge controller when you’re hooking up your solar panels, do you want to keep power to the charge controller?

do you have this grounded anywhere to the trailer frame or within the system?
It is grounded within the system. But you could add another ground to the trailer frame if you want.
How much wattage does your system put out?
We have 300 Watts of solar on the roof but in reality you never get a full 300.
will this charge the battery when plugged into generator power and when unplugged run off of 12 volt
I don't have it set up that way but yes it can be arranged in that configuration.
