FIND A WAY TO GO AND DO. The D500 is not about the race at all. It's an amazing experience you should invest the entire day to. get there at 7am and watch them setup the track as well it is incredible. the outside of the complex hosts a mall with amazing things to do and interactions that make me now wanna go to a summer one. the speed is thrilling. maybe talladega is in my future. but for the entire experience... go. you wont regret it.
I miss the old superstretch stands. It looked so amazing. But it looks so sad to see it empty like that. Even worse to remember all thats left of it are just Billboards.
At Talladega about 8 years ago, they quietly took down the Allison Stands in the back stretch. Better to have no stands than stands there with nobody in them.
If your a NASCAR fan and haven't been to a race. Let me tell you that the way cars sound on television or youtube sound way different than being there at a race. Also the smell of the car exhaust is like a spa day candle and is just a smell you can never forget.
