@@beamerstrumpet I hate Randy Bachman. My husband used to do a lot of band merchandising. My hubby met him and said he was so full of himself that it was disgusting!
Modern rock radio stations never play Krokus, and I cannot understand it. Back in the 1980s, 103-KDF in Nashville would play Krokus several times a day, and we would blast it as loudly as we could.
"Stayed Awake All Night" was written by Randy Bachman and was originally performed by Bachman - Turner Overdrive, it's on their self titled debut album in1973.
I heard this version first. I went on a quest for the original versions of all of my favorite covers. I was shocked by the originals. the BTO version is beyond awesome.

@@andrewwilliamson5060 its true he was offered to come and audition for ac/dc ,he was not offerer the job outright. Plus Mark Storacte had his own band (hint your listening to it right now)Krokus who he thought was going to be really big. Anyway that just my 2 pence worth.
@@Dcey-cy2wc thank you for your 2 pence. I thought he would of sounded great with the band but I guess Brian was the smart choice. The band needed to move on from Bon not get a sound alike that would remind them of Bon every night.
This is a cover of the original Bachman-Turner Overdrive song from their first album in May 1973. I am glad to see it hasn't died. It comes from the "Basic Rock" genre, good ol' rock from my college days. Look up the original and compare.
Been staying awake from early days as a matter of fact rest peace are now able.thank you GOD my father in heaven I pray you show all those who need help find the way with all those who need it
Marc Starace, I hope I spelled that right. Awesome frontman. I saw Krokus open for Kiss I think back in the day. Snow storm, power went out. Marc came out and amped the audience up with no mic. He saved the night before the power was restored
In my opinion this is their best song performed live and the theme of the lyrics make it naturally easy to get the crowd excited and participate at the same time.🤘 🎵 I was lucky enough for my father to take me to see them as the headliner for a triple bill at Long Beach Arena in 1984 with WASP & Helix opening up for them and it was definitely a kick ass show 🤘🫶
one of my all time favorite road trip songs, kick it on about midnight or if its cool in the evening, and make sure you crank it up then your ready to drive all night long or stay awake all night long, and in the the cool of the morning play it again if your coming home.If you don't understand what im saying just listen to the lyrics.
Saw these guys open for Ted Nugent at the Worcester Centrum in 1982. They were using two drummers/two lead guitarists, and though I was there for Ted, by the end of Krokus's set, I was disappointed they left the stage. One of the heaviest metal acts I had seen up to that point, and in the top 5 that I've seen, and I've seen my share in 40 years.
My only Red Rocks show was Peter Frampton opening up for The Steve Miller band, about three years ago. It ROCKED! I can't even imagine Krokus there. Must've been incredible!!
Remember when I saw Sammy Hagar VOA Tour and Krokus opened at The Omni in Atlanta !!! Killer killer show !!! Sammy liked to decorate his stage with the fans banners . He was telling the crowd to throw me that banner and the fans were hesitant to throw it , but they did ! It said "We love Fernando Von Arb " !!! Sammy went crazy 🤪!!! Krokus and The Red Rocker brought the house down , that concert was wide open !!!
I'm a hard core BTO fan, but I have to admit that I liked this a lot. The arrangement has some very cool elements to it, like the bass and guitar doubling up on the solo riff and then adding another guitar. And the vocals are not a bad substitute for Fred's killer singing. I have to say that I've never heard BTO do a quite first class version of this song themselves. For some reason Randy likes to sing this instead of Fred. In this Krokus video I do wonder why I'm hearing so much crowd noise and applause from people who appear to be kind of disinterested.
Yeah they killed this BTO cover. But I noticed a few things off with the lead guitar on the solo also. A couple times what I was hearing wasn't matching what his hands were doing. So I went back and watched it again. Your right the audience is off. It's quite possible that they added some fill in.
It kinda annoys me when folks compare singers voices to other singers', but Marc's voice is literally 60% Bon Scott and 40% Biff Byford (Saxon). Don't believe me, check out either "Solid Ball of Rock" or "I Just Can't Get Enough" by Saxon. Just two examples.
Too much Valium in Montreux. What the hell man I would have been out of my F#@#@# head and those guys SITTING in the front row don't deserve to be there.
Everyone, including this band, needs to thank Randy Bachman! Krokus did it great justice!
Without doing some extensive research, what he have to do w/Krokus?
@@scottbryant2235 He wrote this song. Recorded it and played it way before them😁
Randy is full enough of himself. Arrogance becomes him.
