The saddest thing abt the tale of Judy Garland is that she left this earth not knowing how truly special she was. Happy 100th, baby. Rest in eternal peace ❤️❤️🌸🌸
Here is a piece of trivia for Judy fans. For her two numbers, Judy wore two different dresses that looked alike. In Johnny One Note, Judy is also not wearing the belt on her dress that she wore in the first number I Wish I Were in Love Again.
I believe that "Johnny One Note" was added later on because MGM wanted another number for Judy. I think she was paid pretty well for a change! Thank you for another great video!
It was added later when she had gained some healthy weight and they realised that Judy would definitely need an encore at a party. So glad that you enjoy the content. (Sarah)
@@craigellen4655Well spotted. It’s actually a different dress (the hem was raised at the front in the first sequence and there was indeed a belt). Johnny one note was filmed some time later. Judy had gained a little weight and her hair was longer. Easy to miss though, so well done!
I don't know if this really happened, but it fulfills my fantasy of what Hollywood parties were like. Gee, Mickey and Judy were great together... They never lost the magic.
It didn't happen as the real Judy was so much younger when Rogers and Hart were in Hollywood. The whole film was a fictional version of their lives but, like you said, it's nice to think of Hollywood parties like that.
According to her biography, Judy was unwell and obviously very thin for the first number, "I Wish I Were in Love Again." The second number, "Johnny One Note" was added in several months later in retakes when preview audiences said that they wanted another number from Judy. She has much-needed weight and vitality after the help and support of some friends in Hollywood. ❤
Love Judy , but found this number a cacophony of messy loud instruments that left me more unsettled than satisfied . I needed a gin and tonic to soothe me afterward .

You will never, ever see such talent together again in front of a camera. Judy and Mickey …they broke the molds.
We love you Judy on your 99th birthday!
Judy and Micky are great, but Judy singing "Johnny One Note" is off the charts. Thank you !
It sure is and she looks so beautiful in JON. You're welcome and thank you 😊
You're welcome and she is wonderful in it.

Yes, it was to disguise her weight gain.
Yes it is a gem!
It is. Note the disappearing belt.😉

@@TheGarlandGab Ty Sarah. I absolutely love this! 🥰💥
It must have been added as Judy had a belt on for the first number.

Judy is so glam 😍
She is 😊
I loved Julie Garland add Mickey Rooney. I've seen every musical they made together❤🎭🌟🎤🌹🥰🎬💖
Ahhh yes, I just played it on a bigger screen I hadn't even noticed that!
MGM's totally baffling attempt to try and disguise her weight gain, yet losing the belt makes it even more obvious!🙄
