This could not be better timing!! I'm about to purchase my first large aquarium at 265 gallons, inspired by you and need ideas on lighting, love your videos as always Joey!
if you ever do another big aquarium (200gallon +)...could you do a reef tank ? I think that would be tons of interesting learning and you could showcase how to light them properly in order to generate growth in the tank.
I would really like to see you step out of your comfort zone and do a DIY reef tank. I really want to start one and I'd like to see what you come up with.
I love that you're showcasing so many aspects of the hobby with the gallery. And not just keeping things static. What do you do about the nerite eggs? They're like cement.
You are able to change florescent lights to led by removing the ballast and simply rewiring the tombstones to be one side in, one side out. I recently changed 26 in my garage for 278$
Hi Joey, wanne let you know, I wait every evening for your video to watch, so I can go sleep. No good night without it. So now good night from Germany 😘
Joey, if I may call you that? You are an inspirational person. Not just how you turned your life around, but the massive knowledge base that you share! Kudos. You are my fish guru. I turn yo your videos to learn everything. Can’t say enough how much I enjoy them, and of course, learn from them.
Lights are awesome , but fish don't like very bright light .👌 Best part those closeup aquarium and fish shots and background music for that is awesome... 👍
Joey, You should use those google/alexa smart outlet switch, just search it up! with those, you can wirelessly turn on and off, set timer schedule, etc. of anything in your fish room from anywhere, as long as the smart outlet switch is connected to wifi and your phone is connected to internet. (It uses your phone as the remote, you dont have to have a google home or amazon's alexa for it to work) It's pretty cool. Id imagine you can use it for more things than just lights. maybe you can even link it up to pumps in case of flooding. I've had that wireless remote switch you showed in this video and the controller failed on me eventually.
Thanks for another great video, for mere mortals like myself I get loads of information and ideas (perhaps beyond me atm😀) but I love watching yours. 😀 👍🇬🇧
Hey Great video! However for the smaller pond with the Bass, Why not put an upside down Aquarium on top of it? It might help with the shyness of the fish. Also less place too cover up so they can't Jump out and u can make the Pillars that hold the upside down aquarium into something were the Catfish can hide:) I can only imagine how nice it would be when u work at the gallery the bass would come up too see what you are doing :D
The shoplights are a great Idea. I just checked a price on a 6-pack of lights/fixtures, and thought they would be great for my combo orchids and fishtanks.
This is one of the best videos I've seen on your channel joey. I liked the end when you shut the lights off and showed the tanks. You should definitely do a feeding video like that, when it all flowed together so semlessly. That ship is cool to...
Love the video Joey! I do need to say, though, that shop lights are only an inexpensive option if your tank is at least 48" long. Smaller ones are expensive and hard to find.
It's nice to know your not mad for having three tanks, I was keep getting told I was suffering from MTS but now I know I'm not. MTS = Multiple Tank Syndrome 🐠🐟🐡
This is the way I do my lights, filters, wave makers, heater, and polishers... I like to have cables hidden as well. So now when I need to do some maintenance, I don’t have to worry about unplugging or looking for any plugs. Just a quick button for it all. Doing it this way has encouraged me to keep a better cleaning schedule as well since it’s easier to do.
Hello, first of all I want to say I really like your channel a lot. You are truly inspiring for so many of us. I got a question about your light enabling system with wireless control. I see the power input goes directly into that little device. Is this able to take the startup load and keeps up the power over a long time(months/years)? After all its a relay and might get dangerous after a certain amount of clicks. Short circuit is the last thing you want as fire can occur very rapid. Water on your circuit also may not be detected in time before the fuse or current measurement shut the electricity off. Ive been in a similar situation, I just want you to be aware. Greetings from Belgium!
Liked the vid. Thanks for posting. But with this one I have questions. If yr colorblind,I wonder if you enjoy a fish for its personality, shape, size etc.? Cause if you can't distinguish color?...Other question is,if the fish don't have a "light schedule" do they act different then say fish that do?..ok till next vid, cont success and watcha soon
Can’t thank you enough Joey slowly working on my fish wall not a hole room unfortunately seems you show up with a video when I am struggling with an idea LIGHTS thanks for all you do
Now at a closer look i think the plants in the Angel fish tank are so long for lack of photosynthesis, they are compensating for the lack of light by beeing covered with mulm.
Just got a 4 foot LED shop light at Harbor freight today for $19 USD with a coupon limit of 3 . It's a Braun but there's absolutely no information on the Kelvin rating at all .It only states what voltage, watts and lumens are which is 5k @ 60 watts and extremely bright .The construction build is excellent and it barely gets warm making it perfect for installation in a canopy . I've been trying to get some specs on the light but haven't been able to find anything so far and not even on their website . It appears to be more in the blue end of the spectrum but as to what amount I have no idea . I'm going to try this for awhile and see what happens with the plants in my tank which are light loving types. Glad to be getting rid of the old florescent lights because they're dangerous and you constantly have to replace the tubes which gets spendy after awhile plus having to deal with tossing them in the recycling center bins. I'm glad that LED technology came along .
I hadn't noticed you had the tropheus ikola before I recently got a group my self i have 25 in a 150 mine are just babies but im finding them to be very enjoyable
Your room is amazing! If I may bring something to your attention. It appears the water flow on the angelfish tank seems a tad too strong. They really do best in slow moving water
@@db146 if I may without offending explain my reason for my post? I started raising and breeding angelfish in 1990 and shortly thereafter discus. I had a discussion with 6 other breeders about filtration. We decided I would be the guinea pig and experiment setting up 3 equally sized aquariums of angelfish from the same spawn using 3 types of filtration. #1 was using a sponge filter. #2 used a hang on back filter slightly undersized. #3 used a sump pump filter slightly undersized as well. What happened was the slower the water movement was the less energy needed to combat the current and they were able to convert their nutrition to developing size and maturity sooner. The sump aquarium always had their fins clamped and looked like arrow heads while the sponge tank always had their fins on full display.
love your videos. the part where you just showed your fish with music was very nice I like that better than the rest of the video, your fish are gorgeous and they look happy, Thanks for sharing.
I like how at the end of the video, you show most of the tanks for a few minutes. I think it would be awesome if you made an entire video where you show each aquarium for about 1-2 minutes ( per aquarium ). I love watching the fish swim around, and its usually kinda hard to get a good visual of them because you move around so fast xD. Love you videos, keep up the good work :D!
Do you have a link for the LED shop lights you have on all the tanks in this video? I know I'm really late to seeing this video so I totally understand if you don't.
I did the same fixture but only different is the led lights long tube kind. I just hate keep switching out the fluorescent tubes plus led is worth it now since its much cheaper than before.
I know they don’t need it but the Exodon would look better with substrate. I love when the aquariums have a finished look. Have you ever considered doing a smaller fish community tank? I would love to see one tank with many different species.
At those prices you could have two sets of lights, each with different temperatures so you can have both on, one on for ambient, or one on for evening light.
Please do more just the fish montages!! Wow you really get to see the beauty they possess and how great you camera work is!
I like the ending of this video: «action speak louder then words». What you do with aquariums Joey is just azaming!
Really liked that last sequence. felt like I was just chilling in your aquarium. could watch your fish for hours
He should set up a 24-7 live stream of one of the tanks
That'd be so cool. Lol imagine if he made an app where you could watch any tank at anytime in real time.
I literally almost started crying when the montage started! Wow how beautiful the fish are!!
Couldn't agree more.... wonderful to see x
"hold the camera steady joey damn it" 😂😂😂

This could not be better timing!! I'm about to purchase my first large aquarium at 265 gallons, inspired by you and need ideas on lighting, love your videos as always Joey!
Loved the end of the video...the music...the pace... everything was perfect!😌
Dude! Fank dancing with his girl!
Nice montage at the end dude! Please more of this!!

William Tufts nice
I love that you're showcasing so many aspects of the hobby with the gallery. And not just keeping things static. What do you do about the nerite eggs? They're like cement.
I dont bother with them unless they get on the glass... then i can take them off with a razor.
Thank you for always keeping a balance of diy/affordable vs the latest greatest technology. You seem to always present the best of both worlds.
Frank and francine are too cute together, they have such a cute bond !
Hi Joey I’m glad you are doing different things to show us we could do different thing with our tanks.
i love how confident the discus are getting! i remember how skittish they used to be.
Everything is coming along nicely and you are definitely right about so many ways to keep fish and components in the Hobby!
I love he fact that the latest videos have gotten back to DIY YOU ROCK
Joey, if I may call you that? You are an inspirational person. Not just how you turned your life around, but the massive knowledge base that you share! Kudos. You are my fish guru. I turn yo your videos to learn everything. Can’t say enough how much I enjoy them, and of course, learn from them.
By the way I really liked the bit at the end with the room lights off and the aquarium lights on and the tour with the music, spot on!
Your tropheus are looking really nice now that they've matured. I Love how attentive you are to caring for your fish.
$15 shop lights ... you guys in the northern hemisphere don't know how good you have it.
Looking good! Loving that the gallery is becoming more "diy" all the time!
Lights are awesome , but fish don't like very bright light .👌 Best part those closeup aquarium and fish shots and background music for that is awesome... 👍

What about power outages tho?
Man that room of yours is just amazing !!! 🙂
Awesome vid dude. Nice to see your tanks and fish up close in one video 😊
You’ve been uploading like a boss recently
He did said that he will make video on daily basis
Great inspiration, and loved that end cinematic sequence!
Damn boy, the video was posted 13 seconds ago.
perfect outro, need something like that at the end of every video!! keep up the good work
Chalenge for the king, high tech planted tank😜
After 2 years,he accepted your challenge
Joey Video idea: spend a minute on each tank just filming the fish swimming/interacting . would be awesome!
Sandor Clegane I second this notion
Thanks for another great video, for mere mortals like myself I get loads of information and ideas (perhaps beyond me atm😀) but I love watching yours. 😀 👍🇬🇧
Hooking it up for the lower budgets per usual. You might be my favorite Canadian besides Les Stroud haha.
U always say excuse the mess haha. How many times I need to be excused hahahahaha
I just tell my alexa to turn on my lights and off my lights when i want them. works flawlessly ;)
Love these kind of videos you put out
Hey Great video! However for the smaller pond with the Bass, Why not put an upside down Aquarium on top of it? It might help with the shyness of the fish. Hi Joey, Can I please have a link for the LED lights you have in all your tanks and the remote controller?
My 3 year old son was watching with me and when he saw Frank he says: " look, it's a grandma fish!" Haha. I guess he thought it was wrinkles.
Petition to call the Sunshine Pleco Mr. Smee?
Great video finale! Views of the tanks, nice lighting, relaxing music, etc.
Loving the fish views at the end of the videos.
Thumbs up for reaching 1 mill subscribers. Been a fan since before you had 100,000 subs. All hail the King of DIY
i got mine at walmart for $18! i love it! My plants are growing amazing!
The shoplights are a great Idea. I just checked a price on a 6-pack of lights/fixtures, and thought they would be great for my combo orchids and fishtanks.
Your fish are amazing......every tank is a masterpiece!
Thank you so much for sharing! 😀
Lighting can be the most important part of an aquarium. It is what sets the mood, helps create focal points, & sets the overall ambience of a room!
I have a multi-plug remote controller that I use for my fans, but never thought of using it for my lights also. Thanks for the idea.
Perfect timing! Setting up a new tank, thank you as always for the helpful tips!
Can you please link the LED shoplights!!! It would be great.
Wow! Love the closeup views.
First! What an inspo you are! Come to Sweden !

All the fish look so big compared to when you first got them Looks good!! Waiting for a few things to finnaly set up my tank 👌🏼
It's nice to know your not mad for having three tanks, I was keep getting told I was suffering from MTS but now I know I'm not.
MTS = Multiple Tank Syndrome
🐠🐟🐡
you're*
I am loving those loaches...they are getting huge.
Can we get a Montage Monday every week PLEASE!!!!!
Frank and Francine are adorable! I have shop lights and Lights of America on my tanks. The light is fine for my needs.
LOVED the tour at the end Joey!! We need that shizzle once in a while to really see how the fish are doing! Nice one!

Joey, what kind of light you used for the past 370G arowana wall aquarium ? It's looks like blue or green tosca colour ?
Picking up some LED shoplights today, for my own rack :D Thanks for updating us on your lighting situation, and that looks great!
Great video as always, keep up the good work
Hollé from Chicago I love you’re channel
23:38 in Germany on a Sunday but must watch this video
Same here, just feed my fish!
Me too😉 🇩🇪
Lighting for fish only aquarium is certainly less of a problem or demanding than plant aquascraped tanks.
Of course.
So peaceful just looking at your fish .😊
love your videos you are the best fishtuber
10:01 "Of course, Frank is hung as well..." Seeing Frank's 27 chins is enough information, thanks Joey

How are the plants doing with the change? Is the light holding up?
Would you tell us was it worth it? Give us an update
Love the red eyes on the peacocks , when I ever get a large enough tank one day im 100% getting bass.
I love these videos
Top notch info - you rock Joey!
I hadn't noticed you had the tropheus ikola before I recently got a group my self i have 25 in a 150 mine are just babies but im finding them to be very enjoyable
Keep on inspiring. It’s working! Driftwood for Pleco please. He needs something:)
Joey! I'm waiting to set up a dimmer for my tank stand. Did you wire yours up, or did you buy the dimmer switch like that?
My favorite background/aquascape though is the discus tank. Captain Hook is 2nd
Frank completes my soul.
Great videos. Friendly advice.. get a remote microphone for better audio. cheers
Seeing as I'm using a couple of LED shop lights on my thirty gallon tank, I think it's a brilliant plan. (Single tube, 30W, from Home Depot)
Your room is amazing! If I may bring something to your attention. It appears the water flow on the angelfish tank seems a tad too strong. They really do best in slow moving water
It looks like he has it aimed up for surface agitation. They look happy to me.
