It’s great to see the two of you together. I’m a fan of both channels. As well as a customer of Eddie’s. His products are always packaged beautifully. And in fine condition. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with him on the phone. And, he allowed me to share a blend of my own with him.
Excellent video. Thank you for putting it together for us.
Alan is a fine gentleman. And it is a pleasure to see him answer questions and share his philosophy.

Two of my favorites in one video?!, yes please!. Eddie is a really great guy. Fortunately I live locally to him, so whenever I need a new pipe, or accessories, we meet up in person. He is very professional, down to earth, and great to talk to. Him talking me into trying a charcoal filtered pipe helped keep me in the hobby, and made my experience so much more enjoyable. Much as he mentioned about himself getting tongue bite no matter what/how he smokes, I found to hold true for myself. Thank you for putting this together Alan, I thoroughly enjoyed it!.

I agree with Eddie's take on yhe charcoal filters. Im the same way where it doesn't matter which blend or pipe, etc., I usually end up with tongue bite. After seeing the Pipe Nook video on charcoal filters i tried it and have never looked back. Brings more enjoyment and cleans up the smoke to get more flavor for me. Thank you to the 2 of you!

Jupp. With me it's the same thing. Charcoal filters can most definitely help people that have a sensitive tongue to be able to enjoy a pipe.

Some of my best pipes have come from Eddie at the Pipe Nook. I love my 9mm pipes (I prefer them). I smoke a lot of aromatic blends, and the filters are just a must for me... Eddie, I'll say it here, I'm sure you saved this lifestyle for me.. The filters enabled me to enjoy more blends. Etc. I do have some estate unfiltered pipes, and I now can enjoy them in between the the 9mm pipes. The Rattray Fachen 9mm I bought from Eddie.. My absolute favorite pipe. Bless you both.. Feels likes we're friends. 🤠

I hope you two continue to make more videos in the future. You make a great team. I learned about the Pipe Nook through Matches860 recommendations. I also purchased a Savinelli Alligator Red 673 KS earlier this year (2023) from Eddie, and love it. I enjoy watching the Pipe Cottage's and Eddie's videos, and highly recommend the Pipe Nook for anyone who wishes to purchase a pipe and pipe products. I hope to see more of you guys in the future..! thanks

Eddie Gray is the honest piece guy! The filter experience is great for me! I only smoke with a filter. I don’t get tongue bite from any blend ever. They don’t restrict the draw or the taste at all for me. It cleans the smoke and tobacco never gets in my mouth. Really enjoyed this video! Keep ‘em coming out!

Thanks for interviewing Eddie Gray from. The pipe nook I have 2 of his pipes. One is a Peterson phoenix bent apple and the other is a savinelli Roma lucite 673.both are filtered and great smokers. Here in NYC we still have a brick and mortar shop called Barclay Rex which had been in business since 1910. They started as a pipe shop then transition to a cigar shop and now expanded their pipes and pipe tobacco inventories to include some tobaccos that are hard to fine. One blend they carry, which you have to buy at approx $100,i, is folklore which they sell by the ounce. I haven't gone there to pickup some folklore I always let folks know if they come to nyc I'll gladly take em to Barclay Rex so they can experience what going to a brick and motar shop is like.

Thank you Gentlemen for a most enjoyable video. Only this Morning I have just taken delivery of my latest addition to my Pipe collection, a Bent Rhodesian by John Brumfit and a wonderful Tobacco that is an American blend, called Coffee Caramel that I have not tried before and they have both just had their Debut while I was enjoying listening to you both and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed the whole experience, so thank you once again Gentlemen for the pleasure. A great way to start the day.

Great video, guys! I’ve never had a Toscano, but back in the early ‘90’s I used to get De Nobilis at a CVS in our mall. They were in an aisle, just like Eddie described. They sound a lot like Toscanos!

I do enjoy filter pipes kind of help with the bite but I’m in a quest to collect must of pipes I can also I’m in the process of making my own pipes here in Hawaii is really hard to find any pipes

  • @airadaimagery692

I don’t use filters to avoid tongue bite, I use filters to “filter” out the tar and other impurities from the smoke. When I discovered how effective the filter was, particularly the balsa filter, which is obviously very absorbent because it turns so black, so quickly, I just decided that I would rather not ingest all of that and let the filter have it... I still haven’t figured out which is the most effective, wood or charcoal, since it’s difficult to discern. I am a relatively new smoker, and I understand the benefits of not using a filter, I just believe that filters are a better health choice. I could be wrong, and that may all change in the future, but as of right now the filter appears to be serving a purpose, not to mention that I believe it also aids in a drier smoke.

I used to drive 580 miles to my favorite pipe shop in Eagan Minnesota. That store closed many years ago. I am now looking for a new store to do business. My favorite pipes are my Preben Holm, and Ben Wade Freehands. I have other pipes but they do not smoke as well as my Freehands. My favorite tobacco was from The Tobak Schak. It was called Eclair.

You know, I would really love to see a video on your thoughts concerning this war on tobacco. I don't really understand it. The liberal side of our culture is championing so many things that are unhealthy and downright dangerous, and yet tobacco is this evil thing that must be eradicated. Is there some hidden reason?
