Only the 1st level and I already hear and feel the difficulty level of the cadenzas are way higher than normal violin playing. This video has me so excited for Brett's Mendelssohn, but also, I will *never* get enough of Brett playing Tchaikovsky. Literally. Brett could play Tchaikovsky for 40 hours straight and I would be like "please, more of Brett's Tchaikovsky"
Beautiful. So beautiful. Everything sounds so heavenly. I'm in love again with Brett's Tchaikovsky and Eddy's Sibelius. By the way, I'm sure that Eddy is secretly a pro dancer! 🤣 Even his hair dances when he plays. Epic! And .....both of them really have beautiful hands and fingers
Is there anything more incredible when Brett and Eddy show their true talent? This vid is awe-inspiring. Well done you two :-) This has got to be on the top of my very favorite list. So looking forward to December 28!
I find it interesting how Eddy would often linger on the last note of each phrase, for the musical expression, but there's probably a mental factor as well, seeing as he lingered less when he's playing Sibelius.
wow! coming back to twoset for the first time in a while and they have definitely improved their playing by quite a bit. they were always extremely good, but this is next level. majorly impressive. fantastic performances
I just wanted to say now I have the answer for myself a month ago about why Shostakovich ranked higher than Tchaikovsky and Sibelius When I causally rewatch some of the old episodes yesterday, I realise you have sort of explained it in the 8 More Legendary Classical Performances You MUST Hear (pt. 2) Also I found out the other day Brett demonstrated the Paganini Violin Concerto before in the video 12 levels of violin playing, and he didn't finish the phrase back then Rewatching old episodes always brings me surprise!
I like when Cadenzas tell a story and are not just "look what I can do lol" I know that's the whole point but I like how Shostakovich's Cadenza is something I would actually like listening to on its own because of how good it is.
Truly incredible. They have ruined me in the best way. I was at an art event a few days ago and this person was performing on an electric violin *cough we all have been taught if you didn’t know, this do be easier than a real violin*. (I will say I only have respect for anyone who can perform and give it their all) It was so flat and off key I wanted to crawl out of my skin, as I couldn’t tune it out. I never in a million years would ever think I could hear that. I was cringing (as respectfully as possible) and I told my close friends musically what I was hearing. To my genuine surprise, they all thought it was amazing. Bruh. No. Please. Don’t. Say. That. Listening to Brett and Eddy on this channel for over a year and a half now, listening to classical music and truly enjoying and appreciating it’s beauty, learning about reading music, learning about phrasing, movements, etc., buying a violin and starting to take classes (my Mary had a little lamb ain’t that bad ok), and trying to overall learn more about music and the violin in general, I never realized how much they have taught me. Incredibly intelligent, musical, funny, caring, and genuine! The love and appreciation they have for classical music and their violin playing is incredible to witness, and I honestly feel so lucky to be able to see that! You’ll always find me coming back to them. Truly amazing what I’ve learned from them and being able to see the passion and skill they hold, I’m very grateful! A true thank you Brett and Eddy :)
Hey, Brett & Eddy! I love your content, but I wanted to make a suggestion? For these ranking/list-type videos, I think some of your visually impaired listeners may find audio cues in between pieces helpful, perhaps stating the name of each piece as you reach them? Again, no shade, just a suggestion, I still love your videos!
Awe, this made my day!! You guys's playing is so beautiful, even with cadenzas as difficult as these. Thanks so much for playing this! (Also Brett at the end made me laugh 😂😂)
Actually, as a violinist, level 1 seems to me more difficult than 2, 3, and 4. Level 2 seems difficult, but it appears quite easy when you've already practiced some scales and arpeggios. On the contrary, level 9 seems easy, but the harmony is very unusual, so it requires more cognitive effort and endurance.
@@Marguerite-Rouge I would consider Wieniawski 2’s cadenza to be easier than the other three musically, as it is literally just straight sixteenth notes. The other ones are also longer, and Beethoven’s cadenza really is no joke technically with those double stops.
Maybe it's because speedy passages can be seen as difficult and virtuosistic, but those are the easier ones. The really difficult ones are double stops, you can see the hardest parts are double stops played very slowly in comparison to fast scales or arpeggios.
@@ianshasha7531 Personally, I am more confident with musically interesting pieces (when I know how to conduct phrases, the technical aspects follow quite easily). But with a piece that is only technique, I am lost. But beyond these very personal reasons, I still think at least the Mendelssohn one is objectively the easier in the lot (for the reasons I mentioned in my previous comment).

Me: THAT WAS LEVEL 1?
Love you guys
Exactly what I was thinking😂😂
Coming back to this after watching the 4mil performance really helps you appreciate the work Brett put into the Mendy
agreed very agree 💯💯
can we just talk about how incredible that tchaikovsky piece was like omg
Oh, my God, I love Brett's Mendelssohn and Brüch. I'm soooooooo happy cause I love these pieces so much!
Brett has the most beautiful tone. I could listen to him play all day. 🙂👍🏻
Commenting to boost this video because skill and dedication like that deserves ALL the views dammit! Seriously you guys we can *feel* the hours grinded into this short 12min video... Definitely practising what they preach!
I wonder how much time Twoset can dedicate to practice actually with their insane video upload schedule, trying to do both at highest level is literally having two 40+hrs/week jobs, must be difficult to balance the two🤔
Brett nailed the Tchaikovsky, that’s my personal favorite and wow job well done. Great work throughout - all of those sound pretty dang high level to me!
Same here, Tchaikovsky was the coolest
Twoset Flex is back! Them showing off their skills is just the highlight of the day!
I play the guitar, but hadn’t practiced much. After watching twosetviolin, the Ling Ling 40 hours inspired me to really practice. The hardest thing I could play 5 years ago has now become my warming up piece. Thank you twosetviolin!
This was amazing! Twelve minutes of pure cadenza, it's like a meal of all desserts. You nailed the high notes and harmonics. Thanks!
Goosebumps ! Amazing! Shostakovitch was just heartbreaking!
You know you're a violin teacher if...there are few things on this Earth more beautiful than Eddy's right wrist.
It's like a butterfly 🦋 😂
COME ON Tchaikovsky Concerto Cadenza!!!!! Werk that virtu - osity . Man that was soooo good. I really wanted an orchestra to follow that cadenza. well played.
I live for twosets serious playing
They sound more polished now. I'm happy for them that their practice paid off. 🙂
Dear Brett and Eddy,
I love when you play the violin as if it's the only thing you have in this world. Thank you for sharing to us what you have. You are inspiring a lot of people, not only musicians and artists, to strive more and achieve what they want with deep sincerity. Looking forward for more beautiful music played by our most favorite violin duo. Keep it up, we're so proud of you 😊
I now want a full good audio quality version of Brett’s Tchaikovsky….cry
Damn. Eddy really nailed the emotional intensity of the Shostakovich cadenza. I love that section of the piece and I love hearing how different people 'feel' their way through it. Awesome.
Such beautiful concerto pieces been played. I couldn't even wait for christmas.
Those new violins are obviously getting used a lot, the sound is opening up beautifully!! Can't wait for the virtual concert! 👍👏👏
Who else wanted Brett to just keep playing the Tchaikovsky? Gonna rewatch their livestream after finals.
The sound kinda sucked for that stream and they were sooo stressed, man I wish they'd record/stream that tchaikovski again given how much they have improved!
@@shaetane I agree, the sound quality isn't the greatest and they've definitely improved :) but I still find myself going back to their 2 mil livestream frequently. Because even with the bad sound quality, 2 mil was great and really special. Is it the greatest Tchaikovsky violin concerto recording I've ever heard? No, but they can still be really proud of what they did there. Brett especially.
i love you both
u both encouraged me to resume playing as i previously lost interest with the instrument
brett playing tchaikovsky cadenza was amazing, im crying
To those who commented previously that they "forgot TwoSet played violin," I point at this and laugh in those posters' faces (kidding!)
In all seriousness, I realize that they probably meant it humorously in that Brett and Eddy's personalities are just so entertaining that the focus is drawn to that, but Brett and Eddy's skills are no joke(lol)! Still remember those days back in 2018 when I first discovered you guys.
The both of you are an inspiration to all of us, and you've inspired me to pick back up the instrument I haven't touched since high school. Now, I will go put in my 40 hours.
Hope everyone watching this ( + Brett & Eddy) is safe and healthy!

I really enjoy Brett's playing.
You two have made me pick up my violin again - after 28 years.
I love that Brett didn't give up and gave a shot to the sauret cadenza. Pretty sure he could have done it better but doesn't care to break his fingers over that painful (and overall horrendous) cadensa
Only the 1st level and I already hear and feel the difficulty level of the cadenzas are way higher than normal violin playing. The amount of practices you guys have to put into to make this video possible and sound so clean. Thank you so much!
As another comment already said it, I wishes video like this receive more attention and views from the audiences, but I hope you guys won't stop the series of serious playing because of low numbers, please don't pay attention to them, your serious playing is what makes the core 'uniqueness' of your channel, and many of us love it. I understand it is so hard to pull off because the amount of practice to produce one since you guys are professional musician with integrity so all I can say, good job and thank you, so much, again. Looking forward to more video from you guys no matter which type!
actually for the first level i would argue the cadenza is easier than the actual 3rd mov lmao
I supposed that is why it is the first level then 😂 interesting because I aside from the notes and rhythm I can't really tell more since violin isn't my instrument. What is your analysis of this list if you would like to share of course? (sorry this comment is 1 month late 😅)
10 days later, we’ve heard Eddy do astounding, moving performances of the Shostakovich cadenza in the Virtual World Tours… I’m still in awe.
I really like this type of content..
hope that they can upload the recording of their serious playing of some short pieces in a hall setting... because after watching their virtual tour I realize that holly molly their violins sound sooooo good in the hall..
okay, all jokes aside... They are incredible violinists!!!
Brett’s Tchaikovsky still blows my mind 🤯👏🔥
I'm just amazed that they recorded all 10 cadenzas on the same day😲
big, big applaus👏👏👏💐🎻
As someone who is not a musician, seeing the music makes me appreciate it soooo much more! 😮
This video is a friendly reminder that TwoSet are A M A Z I N G violinists!!
I LOVE WATCHING PROFESSIONALS AT WORK!!!
alternate title: 20 years of violin mastering summed up in 12 minutes
Now that is an accolade indeed...
Absolutely stunning violin playing, well done Eddie and Brett! 😱🙌🏼🎻🎶
This video has me so excited for Brett's Mendelssohn, but also, I will *never* get enough of Brett playing Tchaikovsky. Literally. Brett could play Tchaikovsky for 40 hours straight and I would be like "please, more of Brett's Tchaikovsky"

it started off REAL strong i was like... what is level 10 gonna be like?????
and you guys nailed it...
Brett wins all the cadenzas. Exquisite.
So looking forward to December 28!
so you’re telling me im listening to brett’s Crisp af tchaikovsky cadenza on his new violin FOR FREE wow
I never knew i was into classical music until i found you.
These are the kinds of videos that inspire me to practice.
I find it interesting how Eddy would often linger on the last note of each phrase, for the musical expression, but there's probably a mental factor as well, seeing as he lingered less when he's playing Sibelius.
Breathtaking. My jaw dropped so many times 😲🤩😍
Edit: Love the blooper, very relatable 😂😂
You guys have some SERIOUS talent!!! You’re both so good! Love ya! ❤️
Brett nailed the Tchaikovsky cadenza.
And Eddy the Sibelius
Damn you 2 sound fantastic! About the most purely legit I've heard you. Awesome sound and very musical.
wow! coming back to twoset for the first time in a while and they have definitely improved their playing by quite a bit. they were always extremely good, but this is next level. majorly impressive. fantastic performances
I just wanted to say now I have the answer for myself a month ago about why Shostakovich ranked higher than Tchaikovsky and Sibelius
When I causally rewatch some of the old episodes yesterday, I realise you have sort of explained it in the 8 More Legendary Classical Performances You MUST Hear (pt. 2)
Also I found out the other day Brett demonstrated the Paganini Violin Concerto before in the video 12 levels of violin playing, and he didn't finish the phrase back then
Rewatching old episodes always brings me surprise!
Ty, I had the same question, but then you answered it.
Thank you guys for simultaneously entertaining and educating. Love you guys!
Outstanding work in this video! I really enjoy when Twoset showcase the repertoire and ability of the violin.
So beautiful the Cadenza of Tchaikovsky Concerto omg.... I was so focused on you ❤️❤️✨
Yet again I’m introduced to a new piece of Music by Twoset Violin- I’d never heard the Shostakovich before this. Thanks!
(I will say I only have respect for anyone who can perform and give it their all)
It was so flat and off key I wanted to crawl out of my skin, as I couldn’t tune it out.
Oh, that’s so nice to hear! I hope your doing well on your musical journey!
0:00 Wienawski 2
0:31 Mendelssohn
1:29 Bruch 1
2:18 Kreisler Beethoven concerto
3:01 Joachim Mozart 5
5:02 Joachim Brahms concerto
5:41 Tchaikovsky
8:25 Sibelius
10:01 Shostakovich 1
10:22 Sauret Paganini 1
Awe, this made my day!! You guys's playing is so beautiful, even with cadenzas as difficult as these. Thanks so much for playing this! (Also Brett at the end made me laugh 😂😂)
I gave this video A*4!!
"As Amazing As Always"!!
Love Brett's Tchaik cadenza!
Lingling would be impressed.
he tought you well.
the bruch cadenza im literally crying rn...the effort they put into this video
I'm not a musician, so I can't really tell, but for me even level 1 and 2 already look extremely difficult, I have so much respect!
Yeah, I commented as much... Watched level 1 and thought 'Heck, if this is the first, what are the others gonna be like?'
Intro To comment: WOW! levels 2,6 and 7 to 10 is the best. Comment: 0:00 Wieniawski - Cadenza from Violin Concerto No. 2
(D Minor) 0:31 Mendelssohn - Cadenza from Violin Concerto In e Minor (E Minor) 1:28 Bruch - Cadenza from Violin Concerto No. 1 (G Minor) 2:17 Kreisler - Cadenza for Beethoven Violin Concerto (D Major) 3:01 Joachim - Cadenza for Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5 (A Major) 5:01 Joachim - Cadenza for Brahms Violin Concerto (D major, D minor) 5:40 Tchaikovsky - Cadenza from Violin Concerto (D Major) 8:24 Sibelius - Cadenza From Violin Concerto (B Flat Minor, G Minor, A Minor) 10:00 Shostakovich - Cadenza from Violin Concerto No. 1 (A Minor) 11:22 Sauret - Cadenza for Paganini Violin Concerto No. 1 (D Major) enjoy :)
Those daring young men and their violins. Thank you!
Thank you. Awesome experience listening to this. My life is enriched with music 1000 times over...and maybe when I have practiced 1000 years x 40 hours a day, someone may actually want to hear me play as much as I enjoy hearing both of you play!
