7:36 I think I want to actually try this. I’m at a point at one center where I bowl league that the volume is reasonably high in the middle but the fronts hook (presumably due to the age of the lane surface). My Hyped Solid and Hybrid look significantly more dynamic there than any higher end stuff I try. Any thoughts on which Hustles I should try? I have a Camo that’s pretty close to shot. Have you tried the BRY or X-Ray? I don’t see a review of either of them on your channel. Maybe I should drill a fresh IQTS or a Ruby? I’m just grasping at straws at this point.
Neither of my testers decided to get the BRY or X-Ray, the X-Ray looks amazing tho. If the Hypeds are stronger and more dynamic than the stronger stuff, definitely means you're bowling on less volume. X-ray is going to be on the stronger side, but if you let it shine up, should feel like a hyped solid
That’s what I thought at first too, but just from watching other people who loft it more than me get it through the pins better I got it in my head that there must be early friction. Maybe I’m off on that one. Lately I’ve been going with a 1-2 punch of the Hyped solid and hybrid, solid on the fresh and then when it starts hooking early and I can’t get it through the pins as I move left I go to the hybrid which gets around the corner better. I wonder if the X Ray would be too similar to my solid. I think what I need is something a little sharper than the solid but not as clean up front as the hybrid. Maybe the RIP would be better?
Eh, the RIP is the cleanest Hustle I've ever thrown. The Hyped Hybrid was always very early rolling for me, I actually had it earlier than the Solid, so I'm not sure where to go there. That's a very small gap to fit and would probably best be solved by putting a little surface on the hybrid and getting the BRY to go where the hybrid was OR seeing if you can find the MM because it reacted a lot like the Hyped Hybrid for me.
My old INK was a 9-pin machine (1H righty), and my Camo was a 7-pin machine (2h lefty)... yeah LR isn't the only person to switch hands... lol. Could never really get either ball to carry consistently for me. The RIP looks like more of the same. The MM on the other hand looks better to my eye. A bit earlier, and a slower response to friction.
Yeah I've definitely gravitated more towards the MM so far. The RIP just lopes a little too much, it never seems to get rolling so it's a little too late or a little too early. I probably need to stop polishing stuff, or just polish it for the review and then remove it, but the MM looks great with the polish.
Yeah definitely, with a little surface this would be a perfect straight step down from the Night because it shapes similarly. It's a little too clean with polish period though
I am looking to get either the M&M or RIP, but need your advice. The the lanes at house I bowl at are high friction, which one would be a better choice.
Great video 👌🏽💯💯 liking my Phaze 2 but it’s too early for me as slower two hander.. The hustle looks a lot better for me as a benchmark, what do you think? I like this ball with my Hy-Road Hybrid
Nah, it's got both a weaker core and cover than the Hyroad Pearl. Somewhat similar shape though, and not QUITE a full step down, but definitely a strong half step at least.
I think it looks best with some surface, it's deceptively clean. Obviously I was expecting clean, but it still seems to continue to go a couple feet longer than I'm expecting it to, so surface will beef it up a little bit and make it more readable and consistent.
Oh definitely, RIP is an easy full step down from a PBR, maybe even a step and a half. The PBR is still a fair amount stronger than the Hyped Solid too.
@@ngranado19 Storm has a couple new compounds that they announced at Bowl Expo, not sure when they'll be available or if they're comparable though. Brunswick's Crown Compound is really good stuff in the mean time.
USA is quite a bit earlier and smoother, a few boards stronger as well. The RIP is not necessarily a ball down from the USA, more like a half ball down, but fits well as a shape compliment.
2-hander here, I have mine drilled with a weaker layout to emphasize the control factor. My first 3 games out of the box were on a burnt up league pattern: that fresh ball surface was just digging in and I was striking often anywhere I stood. It looked best in what I’d call the “3rd arrow” zone, for me. Second use was at a different center that I’m not used to on a random weekday on mystery soup conditions. For the first game I had to play way outside and was throwing a line you’d typically see a pitch black do on a PBA show, which it managed to strike from very well. After about a game I’d worn down a new path and could start walking back inside, but by bit, and eventually wound up in the 3rd arrow zone again. As long as I got it outside the ~5 board it would come back from anywhere. Really looking forward to having this as a smooth piece in my bag.
Adding this to my bag as I needed a weaker piece and I’m a two hander as well. What layout did you go with? I was pretty keen on a 2 inch pin to pap so as to not create too much responsiveness on the back end and maintain more of that “arch” type shape. Got a tournament coming up on wood lanes and I’m very unfamiliar with that lane surface, so I figured this might do well.
Loved the comment at the end about a very nice 3-ball Hustle league arsenal.
Camo @2k by hand has been amazing for me when the lanes get squirrelly late in blocks…great matchup of core and cover.
Handed my camo to a friend when our house started soupin up the shot to 26 mils, have missed it every day lol. RIP here I come thanx
Great video! This is what i was looking for. You answered whatever questions i had with your excellent commentary. Keep'em coming!

Looking to add this or pick up a cheap Camo. Would there be any appreciable difference between fresh versions of them? Thanks!
Not really, I'd just go ahead and grab one of these unless you can find a Camo for cheaper.
Super. Thanks again!@@LukeRosdahl
Would this fit in a 2 or 3 ball bag with the Night Road. Lefty tweener in higher friction house.
Yeah definitely, with a little surface this would be a perfect straight step down from the Night because it shapes similarly. It's a little too clean with polish period though
Ok so what would you put above? Love the ZGL but the cover might be to similar to the Night?@@LukeRosdahl
Above the Night? The Duo probably

The RIP is the cleaner one, it's easier down the lane and a little weaker than the MM, so I'd probably go RIP

Yeah if you take the shine off, this would be a great two hander benchmark I think.
Hello, Luke! If compare with venom shock ho it be?
The Shock is quite a bit earlier rolling and definitely a handful of boards stronger. Rip is a definite step down from the Shock
Is the RIP stronger than the Hyroad Pearl?
Great review, I need to pull out my Hyped Solid again, it's been too long.
Nah, it's got both a weaker core and cover than the Hyroad Pearl. Somewhat similar shape though, and not QUITE a full step down, but definitely a strong half step at least.
What is the 4x2 equivalent in dual angle??
4 x 40ish
What type of surface would you first the RIP with?
I think it looks best with some surface, it's deceptively clean. Obviously I was expecting clean, but it still seems to continue to go a couple feet longer than I'm expecting it to, so surface will beef it up a little bit and make it more readable and consistent.
How does it compare to the burner pearl?
Similar zone, they're pretty well on top of each other with just minor shape differences. Think the Burner might be a smidge earlier though.
Looks like the RIP would be more of a complement than replacement for the PBR?
Oh definitely, RIP is an easy full step down from a PBR, maybe even a step and a half. The PBR is still a fair amount stronger than the Hyped Solid too.
Hello Luke, hopefully you can review the Teal Rhino Pro someday :)
Looks like a great ball and I'm sure I'd love it but I'm a Storm staffer and it's not a Storm ball!
R.I.P. a solid step down from the Hyped Solid, especially if it’s polished?
Yeah if you keep them both at box, definitely.
Just want to know who your secret supplier of Step Two is because I need some and can’t find any 😅
It's actually discontinued so that's why lol. I just got a 32oz bottle of it a couple months ago, so I'll be good for a while!
Nice snag! What would you recommend as a substitute??

I thiiiiink I mentioned that in the video but yes this ball is almost exactly the Ink.
Yea, I just got the ink friend gave it to me. I shot 298, and It's definitely still a good ball
