This a Gem of a series
Thank you so much for uploading this. Fantastic series about a tragic time
Great series which I've watched over and over
Great series. The intro music is exceptional. Thanks for your effort in making this series.
Great series, was a little bummed not to see the battle of Hurtgen Forest in this episode.
It is our duty as citizens of this world to ensure that this never happens again.
Good luck with that. The more the leftists censor history the more likely is history repeating itself.
There is a good chance something similar is already happening with the Uyghurs in China.

A key component that’s massively overlooked at this stage in the war were the 250,000 German troops stationed in Norway all throughout the war. Norway’s strategic value was limited to iron ore and other natural resources needed to build artillery and vehicles. But when the 3 biggest militaries in the world are knocking at your door- sacrifices should have been made. A quarter million soldiers stationed in a country with practically zero action for 5 years. Lunacy.
I'm sure those 250,000 were at least thankful to be there instead of, for example, the Eastern Front.
What a great series! What a terrible tragedy!
Very nice series
It breaks my heart to see images and have thoughts of what these poor people must have gone through in those camps and in the cities destroyed by war.
To have to watch your children suffer and starve and die while you are totally helpless would be such a devastating feeling!
I pray that humanity has learned its lessons by being able to study these wars and events.
I hope we never do this to each other again...
...but I have a feeling the worst war is still yet to come :-(
May these 6 million people who died at the hands of the Nazis rest in peace

Systematic dehumanization does that.

De Gaulle was a haute arrogant leader, despised by Winston. De Gaulle claimed the credit while English, Canadians and US forces did the fighting and dying.

The last ten minutes of this video .

Wait til you get to the parts where there were catalogues to buy book covers or lamp shades or painting canvas’ made from the skin of Jews.
I still struggle to fully process the true horrors the last 10 minutes showed. This is one of the most heart-wrenching events of all time, and it only happened 80 years ago. And it infuriates me that some people still deny that this happened...
In the darkness of the Holocaust, a few tiny lights shine out: 1. about 1000 Jews were found alive, hiding with 'Aryan' families in Berlin in 1945 - imagine the risk those Germans took; 2. some German youth rebelled, if only in rejecting Nazi 'culture' by listening to Black US jazz and so on, but a few took part in sabotage actions; 3. perhaps the greatest heroes of the war, the Warsaw Ghetto fighters, who rose up and held off the Nazis for weeks in 1943; 4. the few camp inmates whose suicidally brave rebel actions showed what it really means to be 'superhuman'.
Oskar Schindler, a Czechoslovak businessman, former Nazi war profiteer, saved 1100 Jews with what money he had. And by the end of the war, his factory was turning out malfunctioning shells. A small beacon of light in the vast oceans of darkness.
“Hitlers generals asked for permission to fall back. He refused.”
48:00 to 48:30 is one of the most horrific footage in existence.
"The Americans were outraged at what they saw as such blatant meddling in another country's affairs"
Ahh I shouldn't have laughed but I did. Fantastic series nevertheless, really enjoying it.
i burst out in laughter myself xD
But in both 🌎 Wars America had to interfered because in World War I Germany was fired on American ships and in World War 2 America and its allies had to stop the Axis powers.

The scenes of the concentration camps are breaking my heart. Those who died there will never be forgotten.
If Trump wins the 24 election, they might be. There is probably something in Project 2025 about that.
Good to see the Canadians getting a mention again. God bless 'em.

Yugoslavia technically was 50% 50% but tried to play both ways. Staljin wanted it fully but eventually agreed with Allies. He did tried to kill leader of it several times he did sent few assassins but they failed.
I am surprised they did not mentioned camps that were not in Poland there was much more extermination camps that were not just in Poland, Croatia for example. Though those camps were nowhere big as these ones.
Marshal Tito played brilliant both sides during the Cold War, hence why Yugoslavia was neutral.
I am still processing when you said the kids and old people go straight to the gas chambers ..how Could you do that and still be a human being!

De Gaulle didn't do a tap but took the glory for defeating the Nazis and liberating France, couldn't make it up.

I'm no armchair quarterback. And I wasn't there. But Gen. Montgomery seems so blinded by his ego. And trying to beat Patton. That he lost all sense of reality.
Patton should have been given the fuel and supplies to continue his forging on into Germany.
And there are a lot of things that Patton should have been allowed to do. Such as continue on into Russia. And whoop them, right then and there.
I agree with you about Montgomery. The guy was an overachieving colonel with a massive ego. He was lucky to be in the right place at the right time in Egypt, just as massive reinforcements and material arrived for the big push. After that he muddled through at Caen and totally blew it with Market Garden.
MikeKye200 Absolutely! 👍👏👏 Operation Market Garden was a disaster, from the conception.
The final treatment of Poland too was abominable by Uncle Joe. He was allowed to get away with murder, literally! I hate how coddled Stalin was before the end.
Yes, it was sickening the way both Churchill and Roosevelt cozied up to "Uncle Joe"...especially Roosevelt; at least Churchill was aware of the danger of the Soviets, but Roosevelt was totally conned by Stalin.
Soviets and Nazis were equally as bad.... So, to push away the russians as allies, would only get things into favour for the Germans since, they do not have to worry about war on two fronts... Russia had the resources and materials from Siberia in particular.... Patton just so hates communist, so cant blame him for wanting to do that so soon...
In defence of Montgomery it has to be appreciated that he had issues the US did not. The British had been in the war for longer than anybody but Germany and had reached the limit of manpower.
Montgomery had been told prior to D Day that the bottom of the barrel had already been scraped. There would be no more replacement troops if he incurred major losses. He was desperate for any way to end this war as quickly as possible and that's what operation market garden was about.
If it had come off the Western allies would have been in Germany months before the Soviets and the war would have ended earlier. Then the post war world would have been massively different too with no Soviets in Germany to split the country in two for almost half a century.
I believe Eisenhower unexpectedly agreed to operation market garden because of the pressure to get to Berlin first.
Gripping stuff . So much to learn about this history and i hope never shall the world experience such horror
It’s all horseshit.

@@whitehorse4318 Those labels mean very little in reality. Ultimately, utopian statist movements of ALL sorts are evil. If you remove the the telltale terms and interchange them, they're virtually indistinguishable. A statist is a statist is a statist, and collectivism in ANY form is neither liberal nor conservative, just plain evil.
it's not a competition, jesus christ. Hitler, stalin, churchill, truman and many other allies we're extremely evil and despicable.
Here we are in 2022 and Germany is going to more than quadruple its annual military spending. This has always worked out so well in the past for everyone.
Warsaw Uprising was strategical mistake of AK (Armia Krajowa, Polish Nation Army). Many commanders of AK said it will end up in heavy loses, and problem with both communication and command chain triggered it besides all odds.
It's lucky Hitler didn't have a strategic bone in his body. Those V1 and V2s, if ever used in a practical capacity on the front, could have devastated allied and Soviet armies.
Very true , he shud av used in Normandy
Not necessarily, they couldn't hit a moving target, they would have to used against arms depos and stuff like that.
I saw photographs of those people in Croatia
Watching this horror, makes me appreciate even more that Bulgarians managed to save so many people from this camps. Polish people get the worst from both sides :(
the nazis were truly appalling
Damn 😩
I got my own “Battle of the Bulge” lol
The German strategy at Warsaw was totally idiotic. They would have been better off pulling out and having the Poles as a buffer against the Russians. It could have started a Polish-Russian war. Poland probably suffered more than any other nation in WW2. (Percentage wise, they lost the most; nations had more total deaths but Poland lost the most percentage of its overall population).
Hi Liam
Just amazing to me that Germany never really surrendered in World War 2.
Yes it did, and unconditionally. You presumably skipped history class, always assuming that history is still taught in the leftist indoctrination centers euphemistically called schools.
@@classicgalactica5879 "torn usunder" absolutely. No surrender tho...just East versus West called "the Cold War" both Germans doing their best to help their masters kill each other and more Germans if need be 1948-1991 you are so right about me and my Leftist History!

The 'naughty' document Churchill drafted and his worry about the American reaction to the document, Churchill really didn't need to worry at war's end because the Americans readily accepted its content. The only country the USSR and Britain lost was Yugoslavia mainly because of Marshal Tito's opposition. 😅😅
The "Naughty" Document became known as containing communism. Churchill made the West take their first steps to keep the Soviet Union's communism at bay.
