If you look in the background of the diner Elliot and Leon eat at, everyone is getting similar food served on trays from a line.. That red light that goes off has been in all the scenes at his mom's house when he is sitting talking to people. Good stuff.
And in the first (maybe second) episode of this season there was a drone shot showing the house Elliot was staying at and all the other houses in the neighbourhood were lined and were the exact same as Elliot's kinda like how prison cells aren't unique and different

When this season aired they did some crazy shit with the marketing. There were scannable URL codes in the trailer, fake e-corp websites and even a subreddit for employees with a bunch of fake posts, some of them hinting to future events. After the first episode aired some dude on reddit figured out the entire twist and made a post which no one believed. Fast forward a few weeks and pretty much half the subreddit has jumped on the "Elliot's in jail/mental institution" train. I was mostly on there to check the episode discussions and pick up on small things I might have missed at first watch, but after this episode dropped I basically just stopped going there. Motherfuckers were too smart and basically just spoiling the show lol.
That's what is cool about the twists on this show. It's all based on something, all the evidence is there but like Elliot most of just can't quite see it. As opposed to other shows that just throw stuff in to be dramatic

The sound of the prison alarm, Elliot's daily routine, how he met Leon, there were hints that Elliot was in prison, but it was hard to notice. Mr.robot it's really a masterpiece. I'm excited when you get to season four, season four is the best on TV.
Looking back, the fact that a guy with social anxiety issues like Elliot suddenly had a new friend named Leon he ate lunch with every day should have been a huge red flag that things weren't what they appeared to be. But no, I didn't pick up on the twist until it was too late!
He did this under the guise of a sort of self-improvement regimen possibly enforced by his abusive mom. If anything, it should be the lack of interaction with the mom.
Craziest thing I loved about Season 2 was Craig Robinson. That dude is hilarious in every other role I’ve seen him in. Dude plays the villain so well it’s scary. Seeing BD Wong playing the sociopathic Whiterose has the same effect after watching BD play the empathetic psych doctor in SVU for years. Whoever ran casting for Mr. Robot is a genius. It hasn’t been long since Mr robot finished up. But it feels so much that actors are all typecast these days, especially big name actors. This show flipped that all on its head, forcing non-typical villains to play villains, and actually writing well-established characters that don’t depend too much on the actors playing them. Imagine Will Ferrell playing a serious Bond villain. I can’t. But if Sam Esmail directs that bond film, I’ll buy a ticket to see it.
Just wanted to correct you when you said that Mr. Robot: "he isn't real". Well he is since he is Elliot. It's a split identity. Elliot has DID, Dissociative Identity Disorder. And it's been made clear ever since 2x6 when Mr. Robot took the beating for Elliot. That's what alters do. Some are created to protect the host. Great reaction as always. Basically bingewatched them all day! Keep it up!!
