***** The telegraph? XD Here is an actual scientific study: "Women are more empathetic toward their partner than men" by Griffith University. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/12/141217094913.htm
***** The study was also conducted by Dr Cindy Mervin from Griffith Health Institute's Centre for Applied Health Economics and Professor Paul Frijters from the University of Queensland.
***** Did you even read my previous study? It full rebutted your study that claims women are more aggressive/assholes against their partners. And also , that TED speaker is an idiot because the latest 2015 research has debunked all that claims about electric shocks. Social psychologist and leader researcher Rebecca Friesdorf has stated that Women are more likely to have a gut-level negative reaction to causing harm to an individual while men experience less emotional responses to doing harm. Teaming up with researcher Paul Conway, Rebecca Friesdorf conducted a study that asked 6100 participants questions like If a time machine was available, would it be right to kill Adolf Hitler when he was still a young Austrian artist to prevent World War II and save millions of lives? Should a police officer torture an alleged bomber to find hidden explosives that could kill many people at a local cafe? When faced with such dilemmas, they found that men were typically more willing to accept harmful actions for the sake of the greater good than women. For example, women would be less likely to support the killing of a young Hitler or torturing a bombing suspect, even if doing so would ultimately save more . So if women are not willing to even torture or kill criminals and evil dictators then how the hell do you expect them to abuse fake prisoners in a Psychology experiment XD? lives. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/04/150403095927.htm
***** Your argument is flawed. For one thing, women who commit crimes have already been proven to be masculine biologically as in having higher testosterone then the average female. The women at Abu Ghraib were almost like butch types or tomboys (female minorities) while women in prison are the same and do not look like you're typical feminine female. Females who also rise politically to power (Hilary Clinton, Margret Thatcher) are always masculine in nature because that's what other men prefer when working with the opposite sex. So no, the majority of women would not behave the same way as men when in power because there are obvious clear sex differences like hormones and brain distinction as a result of evolution. If women were abusive when in power then our race would have been extinct long time ago as women have power over their children and can easily abuse/hurt or beat them for their own pleasure. On the other hand men physically or sexually abusing their children or wives are severely high around the world especially in patriarchal countries so that goes further to prove my point. And the study I cited already proved women are reluctant to kill Hitler or even torture bomb suspects, so it just a stupid claim to suggest they would torture or abuse fake prisoners in a College experiment.
This experiment has actually recently been debunked; many if not all participants were confederates in the experiment and were behaving as they were instructed by their professor.
The scene where they made the guy swear still sticks out to me. Everything they put these students through was awful but the way that scene was performed and shot just sticks with me. So unsettling yet so beautifully acted
I watched this movie today I was pissed off thru the whole movie, but I give it to these actors strong thought was put into who would play each role and it worked out well. it pained me to see "cid" Micheal Angarano (lords of dogtown) be able to immerse into his role so profoundly that I hated him lol from previous roles I was quite surprised but that's amazing to know he can be a person you hate. "Patrick" Erza Miller (perks of being a Wallflower) he was brilliant his role fit him to a T, I'm just sad the guy he portrayed never came back to help them.
+BRoCLaW yes that is true, but given what he allowed him to go thru after signing a contract that stated and he even reminded all of them before they were brought their is that the guards cannot put the hands on you in physical force, yet that happened and once it happened to continued to happen as he watched it. I personally don't feel in the slightest he would've believe anything that man said to him after that.
@@kadejahdanielle5582 yea, no. I don't care if they signed a contract, if I was one of the loved ones of the prisoners or one of the prisoners involved in the experiment, I'd make the guards and the guy who set up the experiment suffer for what they did and allowed to happen. Even if it didn't get physical, it was psychological torture, neglect including medical, maltreatment, and other stuff. Honestly, I believe in an eye for an eye.
@@BigBodyChoji You are the one who is wrong here. The movie was a literal masterpiece based on a real event. Just because you couldn't stomach it it doesn't mean it weren't a good one.
This experiment didn’t need to last two weeks like it was originally planned, They pretty much got all the answers they needed by day 2. And I just have to say, that scene during the last half of the movie when they forced that one guy to cuss was extremely difficult to watch
It's on movie channels like epix and showtime and stuff. First time I saw it, I only caught the ending and that was so well done it intrigued me to watch the rest from the beginning.
This was like my favourite scene in the whole film it was funny so I ended up snorting and chocking but it was performed well and the script was good and on the whole it was just powerful
I don’t care how much money I would have gotten, I would never have done this experiment. I get that they didn’t know this was going to happen, but people go power hungry. It’s natural. I couldn’t take that abuse as a prisoner and I wouldn’t want to go power crazy as a guard. Fortunately for me, I was born way after Zimbardo did this, and I’m a girl and he only wanted to test males as prisons are set in male or female setting.
Same I’m a psych student and I wouldn’t do it either because after the experiment I could t face myself if I was a guard and know because of study what could happen and I wouldn’t want to gamble with the results
Idk why he wanted to test only males but due to the serious violation in todays code of ethics not to mention the law in the USA, no experiment like this can be done ever again so we will never know. Plus girls are more cruel than boys. Girls know where the weak spots are and they know how to fight so if this was very bad with males I don’t want to see females.
@TJ-st4xm I mean, I'm the same age as them right now (slightly older), but I have been in that position before and didn't. Same deal with all the evil people that I've been around. Wouldn't hurt them either if I was one of the guards. I'd give them the bare minimum but still.
@@atomstorm7539 calm down it was an experiment and they were instructed to play the role. Zimbardo wanted to see what will happen when people are put into a Situation and they had to play the role. The guards and prisoners lost their identity. And if you read more about it, you would know that no long term damage was done to either side. You gotta look at both sides not just one 🙄
When I watch this I am angered by the so-called professionals running the experiment however it gives insight to why our current police behave the way they do
+Maddie Grace It was part of the real experiment. Both prisoners and guards had to go all out with their uniforms, to really establish themselves in their roles, and to create a sense of conformity with the people wearing the same uniform. Also, one of the functions of the sunglasses is to prevent the wearer from looking people in the eye. Thus, detaching themself from the people their being so cruel to.
+Maddie Grace Lol. Yeah! It was a very fascinating experiment, despite the many ethical flaws. I highly recommend looking up videos discussing the original experiment. It's just so interesting! :)
That guard is the main kid from sky high. Let that sink in...
+Mattman0106 Didn't even know that was him!
+Mattman0106 No way...
Damn....
Lol
Oh shit...
humans are scary, that's all i got from this film.
robin s Mostly men tho. I doubt if women were in charge, they would have fucked up the prison.

Everyone can abuse their power and freedoms so everyone must be constantly watched and policed to make sure they dont
