    Wyatt, you have raised the bar sky-high on what a SaltStrong video should be like. Thank you for your efforts, they are not unnoticed!!

    If you want a smaller presentation like the 17MR in the deeper running models, you can get the same behavior as the 51MR/52MR by using the 18MR "Heavydine". It has the same 1'/sec sink rate as the 51MR/52MR but the form factor closer to the 17MR. I personally prefer the 51MR as I'm usually at water level on the deck of the boat or kayak and it had the line tie on the beak. Better for pulling from a near-horizontal angle. The 52MR is great if you are higher on a pier, etc.
    I actually toy with the total weight of replacement hooks, both trebles and inlines, on the 27MR and 17MR and you can add more depth profile possibilities from those as well.

    Excellent and thoughtful presentation. These lures are excellent tools going into this time of year. Well done.

    Direct tie always, or can a loop knot be used?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  11 месяцев назад

      You don't need a loop knot with these lures because that action is built in. It can't hurt tho but it is not needed

    On the suspending twitch baits, are you tying on to straight braid? Or do you use a flouro leader? Same question for sinking?

    This is a little late but was that a pelican catch 120 or catch 100? Looking to upgrade from a sit in kayak

    So are you saying that I shouldn't use slam shady paddle tails in the fall and winter months ?
    I just recently started using artificial and still learning.
    So I would appreciate it if someone from salt strong or someone that watches this video that could answer this question for me.

    • @Saltstrong

      Paddletails work all season long, so definitely don't hang them up during the winter. These mirrolure suspending baits are more of a situational lure when you know exactly where the fish are but need something with a slower presentation. I always keep some suspending baits in my tackle box, but I pretty much only use them when the puffers are tearing up my soft plastics or if I need a slower presentation.
