A testament to this scene, you can see all the reactors are on the edge of their seats through out. Also people keep saying this is nonsense, but it really makes perfect sense by the rules of the dual. The moment the Marque took the field he was a dead man, no matter what he did.
With in the rules correct, by the rules they both take one shot if no one dies they step forward, reload each take another shot, by claiming the final blow before both guns are fired he automatically to Cains place and got shot, also by the rules the overseer guy could have made him not take a shot until after John took his .
@@ff13enlno31tlebAnd to top it off, if he HAD shot before John did, he would have violated the rules of the duel, and his life would be forfeit anyway.
One of the reasons the John Wick series was great is because there are many instances of Wick being multiple steps ahead. Most people's first thought was that he did not shoot because he did not want to kill Donnie Yen's character - while true he was next level because he knew the Marquis would be stupid and step in. (Apparently, there is a John Wick 5 in the works too so he is not even dead...)
I remember watching it in theaters saying did John shoot my brain was telling me no but my mind was telling me yes and as soon Winston says you arrogant bleep hole I realized John was messing with marquis this whole time still a dope ending to this day.
When I saw that scene in the movie theater the moment when Winston said he didn’t shoot I said oh sh*t! then John shots the bad guy & I go F**K YEAH! & everyone in the theater loved my response, I don’t usually say this stuff in the theater but I couldn’t help myself, all I can say it was worth saying it
What alot of the reactors Don't realize is Both Cane & John are top notch marksman, They're shooting each other in NON Leathal areas to just Show bleeding. This sets up the Marque to try to finish off John, than Winston say John Didn't shoot His Third shot.
My only thing to nit pick about this scene is that while the Marquis was distracted by Winston, John should've already raised his gun, and shoot the Marquis in the head when the Marquis looked back at John, and THEN say "consequences". There was just too much time in that scene for the Maquis to shoot John.
It was a lose lose for Marquis at that point. The dual wasn’t over until either one of them died or both people fired. Since Marquis stepped in before John had shot his first bullet, Marquis could not shoot as it would be his second bullet technically. If he did shoot John he would have broken the rules he so boldly mocked… and well the alternative is John gets to shoot his first bullet. Marquis was a dead man the moment he stepped in to claim the killing blow on John before John ever fired.
I love how none of them until after the fact realized that John actually had not only pulled but aimed first like talk about an arrogant asshole htf did the guy nor reactors realize that. First time I saw it I said John never shot and set him up

Correct rules are rules.

Ironic the Marquis's last word was "Rules" as he was breaking the Rules. As has been said, he was dead man walking, the moment he took the final grace

Oh yo ví la película en su semana de estreno y fue lo mejor de ese año
Well, only John Wick can kill the clown. There will be no "IT" movies... 😂

Same. I was like, '' Bitch!'' And my family laughed.
Fun fact: the French guy was played by Bill Skarsgard. AKA the guy who played Pennywise in IT.

Cane also got shot where the doctor got hit in 2, specifically non-lethal areas.
Headshot of the year…should have walked around like Daft Punk!!😅
My favorite action franchise of all time.💪
Key & Peele - Consequences

The Marquis was also so caught off guard not noticing John didn't shoot which kept from quickly shooting to save his own ass.
Bill got shot in the head for that lousy remake of the crow.

Джон мать его Уик 😂
💯👍✌
The more times I see it, the more nonsensical the scene becomes. Good ending to John's story though.
I think if even if the French guy shot wick he would be executed due to the rules so either way he was dead locked in a stalemate
Understanding the rules would help clear up the nonsense problem.
