Where did you buy your Titebond products? Can't find it thru their website. Also, I gather miters of pvc to pvc are joined with the "Titebond Joint Adhesive" and the 10oz caulk tube is meant for pvc to other substrates? Thanks.
Little tip for the plugs, Put a wide piece of electrical tape on the face of the hammer to keep it from marking the plug. Check it regularly and change it when needed, to keep the face of the tape clean and your plugs perfect every time you tap them it. House is coming together nicely!
This has definitely been my favorite series on RUclips in such a long time. Love all the little details, so helpful, even if I'm not building my own house, haha, it's still fascinating to know.
I just replaced all of my trim with PVC. After using both systems I prefered the ProPlug due to the longer screws readily available on Amazon and hated that the Cortex felt kept falling off the bit. These plug kits are definitely the way to go. For my corner trim I did a 45˚ on the table saw then used glue and tape to fold the miter... made for a really slick looking finish.
I’m looking for other options for installing the Pvc. I use a wood grain 4x8 sheet that I can rip to any width but the cortex screws and plugs sometimes don’t fit perfectly so I’m looking into the Pro plug that you recommend!
I really want too do this in my own garden on a smaller size but I know my Family just can't afford to do something like this but good on you to be able too do something like this and too be able to share how to do it as well🙂
These videos I watch even though it is not possible for me to use any of the materials or even build home. It is interesting to see someone creating a home.
Amazing video again! I like how you show all the mistakes you made throughout the construction process as everybody makes them but not everybody shows them :) I'm glad the building is shapeing really fast. Can't wait for the next episode.
@@craftedworkshop I'm building 3 here, a small one and 2 two story houses (I'm not sure if I wrote it correctly). And they are huge already as well! 😂 It's not a good time for anything with the economy this way, but... The renting helps a lot. 😊
I really appreciate this series. Thanks for creating/uploading. We are eventually going to build a home and this has tons of great info. One thing I am worried about is the reliance of zip tape, I have always been told all adhesives eventually fail (even wood glue), what happens when zip tape starts to fail? I guess it would call for a full tear down of siding and re-taping of the exterior of the home. I haven't really looked into zip tape so I'm not sure what their warranty is and all that, I am going to do a lot of reading tonight.
I can definitely see what you mean, but the ones on the bump out won't really be visible once the gutters are on. Hang tight, I think the final building will look pretty sweet!
@@craftedworkshop I’m just curious about the holes on the bump out. If it is to be covered by gutters, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of putting them there to begin with? Maybe the gutters will be bumped out from the fascia a few inches?
@@craftedworkshop then I guess that will work. Are you concerned at all with airflow being slowed down In that area at all? I don’t believe I have ever seen ventilation done that way.
Looks great! I'm building a ~540 sq. ft. shop/ADU and am close to the trim stage. Where did you buy the titebond PVC glue? I'm having a hard time finding it at the big box stores and can't find it on Amazon.

I like the idea of flashing and taping everything however I'm wondering how the crazy cost of that tape compares to just house wrapping the walls and using a less expensive house wrap tape. We put the house wrap on before we stand up the walls. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
I love using pvc for exterior trim. I was wondering, in the first clip with the table saw, while ripping, you had the blade set REALLY high. Is this a way to reduce blade marks in the pvc, or dust control, or something else? I'm curious as I have not tried that before. I really like the flashing details too, including the double flashing over the windows.
What method did you use to insulated the floor? I'm planning on something similar, but haven't figured out the best approach there yet. I'm considering just essentially building a giant torsion box, bit since you'd need a crane to flip it over I'd just nail a lip on the bottom of the framing lumber and then nail plywood down on top of that. Anyway just looking for options. So anything you can share on that would be appreciated. I don't want air whipping under being hot and cold
Hey, just because I know absolutely nothing about building a house, I'm curious as to why trim goes on before the siding. I would have thought it would be the other way around? Can you maybe explain why trim is first in the next video, please? Otherwise it's coming along real nice!!
What they dont tell you is using the plastic trim living in nc the moisture and mold is bad here you will need to pressure wash almost every year if you live in dry areas its fine to use this
