As a former Barbie designer, I only remember one year when we had massive layoffs from 2007-2012. There was also only one year that I didn’t get a raise during that time period.

I miss the old days of Barbie quality and fashion and personally am collecting mainly 90's early 2000 Barbies. I do like some of the fashionistas coming out but will have to wait and see them in person. I miss the days when Barbie meant quality, value and fashion.
I like most of the new fashion packs. I was getting discouraged because here it is March and we hadn't had any new clothing items for this year other than that huge fashion set.

I'm soooo very curious about the new Fashionistas you mention near the end. I like the same fashion packs, the pencil skirt on the candidate, the exclusive doll/dress and the adorable way they incorporated the pets into the sleeping bag. Great video! ✌🏾
The video was great the dolls mostly trash... XDDDD Also on the collector one the fingerless gloves and open tip boots look more like a cost cutting choice than a design detail to me... And even the prototype has the nails painted on the knuckle...
The Barbie pet from the Dreamtopia advent calendar is a seahorse. These pets and some of the accessories are reused molds from the Barbie Mermaid Power line.

In fairness to the “Barbie quality” comments, most of what you covered in this video were inexpensive playline dolls aimed at children. Aside from the gorgeous Styled By Design doll, you didn’t mention the new line of Barbie Looks dolls (which we have many photos of), the 65th Anniversary Brooklyn/Millie ball gown dolls, the Pink Collection 4 doll or the 12 Days of Spring Boxed set. All are aimed at adult collectors (but are online, not in Walmart or Target).
I would have loved to feature the Looks dolls I'm looking forward to, but we sadly still don't have the official promo shots from retail Sites. Wonder when those will pop up 🤔 Thank you for watching and commenting ☺️
