Currently am in the US, and I hear a lot about depression, dementia, stress, tension, loneliness, especially for elderly people here. I wish if they were to develop an inclination to listen to classical music in general and veena in particular such as this great soothing concert, their dopamine levels will automatically rise reducing tension, dementia, depression. But I donot know whom to tell share this experience of mine, but hope atleast a few will benefit from listening to such great concerts. What a great raga is Sarasangi introduced by Vid Dr Jayanthi. God bless her.
I recently heard in you tube 'Jaya Jaya Padmanaba' of Swathi Thirunal in the Rag Sarasangi sung by great Madurai Mani Iyer. Now hearing the same Raga in Veenai played by Smt.Jayanthi Kumarash with Ragam Thanam Pallavi is like nectar poured in ears.Kudos to you Mam.God Bless👍👍👌👌
With tears... Excellent rendition... Sarasangi, Subapanthuvarali, a bit of Mohanam and Sivaranjani... Correct me if I am wrong because I do not have much insight to music.... I pray god for a long life to all the artists....
Just accept it as melakarta raga. A unique set. All ragas are made of seven notes and 12 swarasthans, but 22 shades shruthis and even with these shruthis the frequencies are handled differently based on vocal facilities, instruments used, moods ,time of the day time. Indian Music is an experience not a scientific calculation. You see several shades in seven colours of a rain bow. As you go deeper you discover gems. Diamond and Carbon are same chemically. But kedarabowla and hampers kalyani give but you get different experience from different artistes. A dissected human is dead.

This is music, neither Hindustani nor Carnatic. She is present incarnation of Goddess Saraswati. Thank you Madam.

This is a Melakarta raga and has nothing to with the other ragas you have mentioned.
Krishna Kumar I believe konalisa123 was referring to 15:00 onwards. I agree with the ragas identified.
Oh no. I was referring to the main one. Not the rest.
No worries. True, she plays very well and has a mesmerising quality to it.
What a royal 5 minute feast from 15:00 !
