How do you shoot and cancel the knife and let it go? What advantages does it have and how is it done? because I try to do it and the knife goes away

its all about timing the silent shot with ur keys, i use to use Q for my throwing knife and E for switch weapons and just went into custom games and just practiced pressing Q and E at the same time after i shoot
