- Join me on a quick 2 hour evening session on my favourite local River targeting Chub using one of the simplest of methods..... Trotting flake.
It was a lovely evening to be bank side with dragonfly's, Swallows & a Barn owl out hunting at Dusk making it extra special :)
The Chub were all in amazing condition & all put up a great fight on the CP.

A classic method of catching chub. So simple but so much fun.
It's great ain't it, the amount of times I've thought that no Chub in the swim n then switch the bread n bang Chub on 1st cast... can't resist it can they... hope your fishing is going well pal?

@@yorkshireriverrover7199 one with no rod licence but the EA were lenient and let him purchase one whilst we were there. Another lad had left between £2-£4k of tackle on a private section of river whilst he went to work. The problem is her left two rods baited up in the water too 🤦♂️

Hi mate, I like to use Drennen float fish line, I use 4lb for Perch , Roach n Grayling , n my Matt hayes Pin has 5lb on for Chub. You will love trotting with them , takes a little to master the casting technique n can be tricky In strong winds.... get out there mate , all the best 👍🎣
