    I own 4 Damasko watches. Huge fan of the brand. This particular model is my daily driver. It has been fantastic!

      If I had to stick with only one watch it would be a Damasko. The one that's been catching my eye lately is the DC80. Thanks!

    nicely done. That sapphire with the AR is giving it a cool blue hue at some angles. Also love that date wheel. Not sure I've seen a black with yellow text before. Excellent as always. Keep up the good work.

    Ive had the 556 both dials several times as i never kept them. They are a NOT a no nonsense watch as no tech is included. The ds30 is heads and shoulders better.

      Well said. The Sinn was sort of an option, but this seemed superior in so many ways, I just had to buy one.

    Coming back to this after 4 years (sorry). I bought and sold this watch and it was a huge regret. Eyeing the yellow. They still have the DS30 models under $1k. I think this is an absolute steal when compared to the Sinn 556 inflated prices (without hardened steel BTW!!)

      I regret it now but I let mine go too. One day I'd love to get one again. It was one of my all time favorite watches I've owned.

    Great review Bob. You’ve highlighted a real unsung hero of a watch brand. Little details like matching date disc wheel colour and linking colors together is the attention to small details that this brand does really well. 👍

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +1

      Appreciate that and totally agree. This is my second watch from Damasko and they've become one of my favourite brands. They're simple in design at first glance but there's so many great details with these. Thanks:)

    Great review, you nailed it. I've owned the DS30Y for four months now and really love wearing it. The 39 mm size is perfect and a refreshing break from the larger sizes we typically see these days. The only downside is a current lack of a factory bracelet. I put mine on a rubber divers deployment strap and have enjoyed that look and convenience.

    nice short review, was struggling on getting a sinn 556 or a damasko, ended up with the latter with a da35 for few weeks and has absolutely nothing to regret on. despite the fact that I am not a fan for any ETA movements, gotta say this watch is spotted on in so very many aspects, particularly on the harden case and crown. I have no whatsoever worry about scratching it and it makes it such perfect everyday watch for almost anything... currently wearing it with NATOs and will be getting the in house made bracelet soon.
    I keep about 20 watches with zenith, omega, panerai, rolex, vostok, seagull, seiko...and this new damasko is getting so much wrist time of mine as I have absolutely nothing to worry about getting scratched, also love about how well everything fits together with very tight tolerance.

      Nice! I actually had the da34 for quite awhile. It was preowned and after the previous owner and several months on my wrist it looked new. The steel is amazing. I'd love to hear what you think of the bracelet. I've seen alot of positive feedback on it so far. Thanks:)

    I've always liked the looks of Demasko. German watch companies know how to make a great watch for a lot less money than a lot of Swiss companies. I have a u1 and 104 from Sinn love both. Id like to check out a Demasko sometime to.

    I do believe the ice hardening and the submarine steel are completely different materials and processes

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +2

      Youre right, they are. The submarine steel is surface hardened and the ice hardened is hardened all the way through. I've had both types of cases from them and both have held up really well. Thanks.

    Could this a one watch "collection". Do they make a version of this watch in the ice hardened steel?

    The 556 is a great watch but it has zero of the cool Sinn tech. This one has a lot of Damasko's

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +4

      You're right and I probably should have mentioned more of that but without the 556 in hand wanted to focus more on the Damasko. Will definitely be looking at more from both brands on the channel. Thanks.

      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +1

      You're right. I've had one of the ice hardened ones and the steel is quite a bit harder than this. I will say I've had this one awhile now and not a mark on it as of yet. Thanks.

      It's kind of funny. I went through the discovery of this awhile back but this is one actually marked 200m on the caseback. If you Google it you'll find a fair amount of talk on it but here's a thread talking a little on the subject of why some earlier models were marked that way.

      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +2

    • @omervertz
      @omervertz 5 лет назад +3

      I think there was an old version of the ds30 that had 100m water resistance or maybe there was a mistake in the old site. I looked at that watch before I baught the sinn 556 and I'm sure it said 100m.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  5 лет назад +1

      @@omervertz I totally agree. I fully expected a 100m watch to show up when I bought this. Love the 556 too. Great watch and for me I like it just as much as the DS30. Enjoy it!

    • @leifdehio2151
      @leifdehio2151 5 лет назад +2

      Omer Vertzberger: I read that the first batch had 100m WR written on the case-back in order to stay in line with the other Damasko non-diving watches although „spec-wise“ the first batch was also rated to a 200m WR. Later batches now feature the official 200m rating on the case-back. I suppose they decided it was a good move, since the DS30 directly competes with some of the low end Sinn watches that offer 200m.

    • @omervertz
      @omervertz 5 лет назад

      I just checked again. Apparently at gnomon and at the us site it still shows 100 m and at the german site it says 200.
