Dave, you have either been educated as a teacher or are a previous 4-H member because your video contains all of the essential elements of an excellent presentation. You don't assume anything from your audience. Your pacing is excellent. Good job! I'll have to watch a few sections again, but am confident I can get my logging software and Lotw up and running.

My Dad was a teacher, so he gave me the genes :-)

"The frequency or band your signal reports." This is the transmit and not the receive frequency, correct?

Is there some sort of equivalent to LoTW, or QRZ.com that many Europeans (or non-North Americans) use? I just wonder how many unanswered QSLs are answered, unknown to me, but simply in another system that I'm not subscribed to.

Thanks for the Video! I jumped through the hoops to sign up for LOTW.

    Excellent presentation.
Beginning the presentation with logging requirements shows the depth of understanding Dave has in QSLing and awards achievements. Even though you may not operate from an exotic location it does not mean that YOUR QSL isn't very important to someone who is a County Hunter, Grid Square chaser for VUCC, or needs your QSL (Paper or LoTW) to complete WAS, 5 band WAS, or some other award on a particular band or mode. If you received the other stations QSL and you didn't log the contact you would have no way of verifying the contact actually took place and you SHOULD NOT return a QSL if you can not verify the required information on your QSL. To do so cheepens the awards for all of us.
It's impossible to give a thorough LoTW presentation without making it look very complicated to non-users. But don't let the appearance of how complicated it is discourage you from using LoTW. It's not nearly as bad as a thorough description might lead you to believe.
So what's the big deal about the extra security afforded by LoTW. The answer is that it maintains the integrity and prestige of the awards that are earned when held to the higher standards for verifying that you earned them.
Thanks for a job well done Dave.
    73, Steve, K8BZ

Hello David, my wife and I getting back into ham radio and it has changed.
My question is, can we both use the same computer to log into the LOTW software?

I believe the answer is yes. Each of you uses TQSL to request a callsign certificate. Both certificates are loaded into TQSL. When you upload your logs, you use your certificate, and when your wife uploads, she uses her certificate.

    Dave,
You said GMT is the time is the time in London, this is wrong and in fact as I write this, London is GMT +1.

GMT is standard time in London. Right now London is on British Summer Time and is one hour different.

    Greetings Dave,
I have a QSL question which I cannot find the answer... I have a house address (of course), but for privacy purposes I utilize a P.O. Box for my FCC license. Can I utilize this as my address on a QSL card? I should mention that the post office is in an adjacent six character grid square. How does all of this work? Or, should I not worry and just use my actual physical address? Thank you for your time, and all of the great videos.
    Cheers,
    Scott (KC9BNW)

Scott, I don't think you have to worry too much, but I, like you, use a post office box. The post office box is even in a different 4 character grid square. I put the 6 element grid square of my QTH on my QSL (DM68cg). So go ahead and put your correct grid square on your QSL and use the PO Box.

I don't see the point having a PO Box.
In this age, there is no privacy. A 10 second search online will probably find your home address.
