Once you have activated the disposal tubes, you must go through every one of them and push the button next to you as you land outside the exit of the disposal tube. There are three, one in the command room's right, one in the laboratory and the third is in the tower accessible via the pub costing 1500 volts each. Then one the cage has fully risen you can use the machine with 5000 volts. I recommend upgrading the 1911 giving you the bacon and eggs which have dual wield attachments on and explosive rounds. Like so cory can see when he returns...
