all the store costumes were kind of dogshit, it literally sticks to your skin and has no layers in it. and the mask, only has the face

Well the basic suit is the same build. You would need red led strips in multiple spots other than the back spikes.

As for your shopping list:
most are stated in the videos but here’s a full list. I suggest buying the foam at hobby lobby if you’re in the USA, using a smartphone 40% off coupon. I just bought one roll at a time.
4 gallons of monster makers liquid latex
A roll of EVA foam
7 rolls of 1 inch thick bedding foam
1 roll of 2inch thick bedding foam
Bottle of black ink
spandex or scrap cloth
clear Christmas ornament that separates in half
Clear casting resin
Regular casting resin
Wood burner
Hot glue gun
Hot glue
contact cement
Multiple paint colors
Cheap brushes
Velcro
Coat/jacket Zipper
Be sure to watch all videos in case I forget about something

I'm thinking of making Kiryu and a Godzilla with my brother. I was thinking of having a speaker in the mouth of godzila for random roars, maybe even use an app for that. and for kiryu which is likely to take much longer im thinking of putting speakers in the mouth and the shoulder attachments. you think i need pvc pipes as support? any suggestions? or any trouble you ran into while making your suit?
I think thin pvc frame wouldn’t be bad idea. I was originally going to have it in mine but the eva foam was sturdy enough for my needs.
@@ericjohnson6939 I was thinking maybe the pipes along the back on around the shoulders going up. Maybe a thin shoulderless football shoulder pads. The head having to hold a small JBL! speaker and a bright light source of some kind. Also I want to use LED Foam and LED lights for the fins. the pipes might help with the wires to the battery and arduino which would be strapped or somehow placed on to the shoulder pads with a case for the arduino. what are your thoughts?
@@Crainage1056 I would put the speaker around your waist area. The reason is that you have to rely on a friend to guide you, and having a speaker near your head would make it hard to hear. Your other ideas with the shoulders sound good. You never know till you walk around in it what you need to alter.
What type of meterials did you use and around how much would the head cost?

Make sure you watch a few times to get a idea of all the supplies you need. Take measurements and draw things out.
The cost of everything had gone up and most of it I got on sale at hobby lobby and online. I would guess 250-300 for the supplies. I wanted a movie level finish so I went all out with latex, plastic, and LED lights in the dorsal plates. Plasti-Dip is a okay substitute for latex for a cheaper cost.

Thanks for watching. Well I was making mistakes as I go. Miracle of editing. If I were to redo this, (never ever would) but If so, would of purchased a mask and repaint it. Or sculpt the head out of air dry foam clay.
How did you make you Godzilla head so round because my Godzilla head is just kind of round but it’s big and bulky at the same time though.
If cut pie shaped pieces out of it, glue that pie shape gap together, it’ll curve the the piece.

What were the dimensions of the bedding foam?

It’s 1 inch thick foam. Some are made to fit a to the length and width of a small bed. For the dorsal plates I used 2 inch thick foam
how did you bend the foam? i've seen on the internet that the way to go is a heat gun, but i see you use hot glue. Also where did you get the EVA foam from?
The EVA foam is both heated and glued together. I cut out and added/ glued pie shapes to pieces to curve certain areas

@@Cyranosaurus25bedding or Polly foam you can get in any craft sections even at Walmart. Eva foam I get at harbor freight in rolls. However you can also get them at most craft stores like hobby lobby
Currently on Amazon you can get a gallon of latex for under $50. I don’t know what the shipping cost is though.
I want to make my Own Godzilla film. I will save my money to buy these materials to make a suit and buy some miniatures and/or make my own.

What other materials can you use instead of Eva foam?
Well now days you can 3d print, there’s Sinatra which is a pvc pipe plastic material sheeting. Eva foam was the easiest choice

Just remember cosplay is about fun. Even mine failed to place in a costume context. Do it for the fun above all else.

What are the dimensions of the head in the first Eva foam part?
It depends on your head. The neck has to fit your head in it and some people have hard hats at the top to have a mouth moving mechanism attached. It’s tricky not to have a oversized head, but it depends on your dimensions. Godzillas headband width should be a 3-4 inches smaller than yours. Remember you put bedding foam over that so don’t worry how small that looks. The muzzle should be slightly shorter than the length from the eyes to the back of the head. Sorry I don’t have a set in stone measurements for you
Can someone please help a mildly frazzled mom? My 13yo autistic son is madly in love with godzilla and desperately wants to be godzilla for Halloween. Specifically this era. Now I'm going to do something alot less involved because I'm a total newb at costume design.
