      It's in a can wherever your store keeps other Mexican ingredients. It's a small can and they are called chipotle peppers in adobo sauce.

    i want to buy a slow cooker but im vegetarian and quorn products and vege mince cant be done in slow cooker do you have any vege dinner recipes please ,

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      You can make this recipe using jackfruit instead of chicken. I don't have a lot of slow cooker recipes and can't think of anything but soups and things like that that I would use a slow cooker for vegetarian meals.

    Why slow cook it instead of pressure cooking which would be quicker?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +2

      There are pressure cooking instructions in the written post, but I’m not a huge fan of the texture of chicken breasts pressure cooked. Slow cooking resulted in the most tender and juicy chicken, so I stuck with that. Plus, the sauce flavors the chicken as it cooks, but it might be a bit too thick for pressure cooking.

      I am making the Chicken Tinga as we speak using chicken tenders and half recipe so we will see how it goes. Do you feel the same way about slow cooking a pork tenderloin or do you pressure cook?

    I have a 6-qt Lux Instant Pot. Would the slow cooker setting be equivalent to the Ninja Foodi setting and times?

  • @cynthiaitzel
    @cynthiaitzel 3 года назад

    Omg Tinga is the best and the easiest on the stove, but like u said, its a good way to do it if you have a busy day!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      I'm curious do you boil the chicken or use precooked? I can't believe how easy this is to make, it is a regular in our house and definitely easy with different cooking methods depending on how your day is set up.

    • @cynthiaitzel
      @cynthiaitzel 3 года назад

      @@TheSaltedPepper I pre cooked the chicken and then shredded. When the onion and the sauce have been simmering for around 10 mins, i will add the chicken.

    Why couldn’t you pressure cook the mixture and save two hours?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      Pressure cooking chicken breast can leave it a little dry, stringing, and rubbery in my opinion, but you definitely can pressure cook the chicken in broth and then add in the cooked sauce. I give those suggestions in my written post. I was so happy with the texture of this chicken, that I felt it was worth slow cooking. It's unreal how good it is.

    Cooking chicken breasts on high for more than a couple of hours always overcooks and dries the chicken, in my experience. I see recipes where you cook chicken breasts for 8 hours on low, and still dry. I have a medium setting on my slow cooker/insta pot

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      These aren't dry at all, but each style of slow cooker cooks a little different. I agree that high on a crock pot would probably dry out the chicken. Did you see all the juices at the end? I actually had to reduce the sauce to thicken it up. I can't even describe the texture of this chicken because it's so good. I've made the chicken without cutting the breasts using high for 4 hours and it was perfect, so either way works with the Ninja Foodi slow cooker. If your IP cooks a little hotter, than medium is a good choice.
