I have said it before and I'll say it again and again. I WISH I lived in Alexandria Va!! I believe I have listened to every one of his sermons. Sometimes I listen when I settle in for the night and I often have dreams that I'm actually in the church! I'm not putting Pastor Wesley above God but I really love this man! He's real, he's a teacher, he makes you think, he's funny and most of all he loves the Lord! Thank you Pastor for all that you do.

I am a church secretary (16 years & 6 months). I'm not a member of the church where I work, but I am a church member. I'm glad I'm saved and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, because I really need to be on this job. I have never in my life met so many mean-spirited, spiteful, jealous-hearted people in all the days of my life. I was totally shocked to find that church people could act this way. There is so much I can say about this, but time and space will not allow. It is very disheartening. But I know God put me here. So here I will stay until he decides to place me somewhere else.

I HAVE, yet I knew, that is not Jesus. I also understand why Jesus said, "Love your Neighbor". Lord have mercy. Sometimes, I don't want to go. BUT, I KNOW THE SCRIPTURE. "Don't forget the assembling of yourselves TOGETHER...". Out of obedience to the great head of the Church...I come to worship and fellowship in UNITY. SO, I keep coming, learning, growing and developing...
Years ago l heard a pastor say that the church to be effective had to be authentic, real, and relevant. Dr. Wesley was about as authentic, real, and relevant as humanly possible. I will be listening more often to this brother, trust me he's definitely on the right road. Praise God.

There's no need to search for a church because the moment you accept Jesus as ur savoir....YOU BECOME THE CHURCH. You don't join the church, Jesus adds you to the church. So called church folk complain about service lasting 2 hours but they spent 5 hours in the clubs/shoppinh and didn't complain. Paul preached til midnight. If you truly love the Lord you don't mind spending time with Him and his children.....Lord help us! 🙏🙏🙏

I visited Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in April 2017,and and I witnessed something that I have failed to witness in Mississippi. What was it? I saw men and women of God passionately pouring out into the lives of the people, whereas where I'm from, the aim is the direct opposite.
Thank you for the truth. I left the church for 7 of the 10 on the list. The church mess. I remember getting into it with one of the Deacons in Bible study class. He talked to me as if he never sin. I said nothing about what I know about his past. As long as he was teaching Bible study I never went back to Bible study class.
So relevant in 2023
I truly enjoy Pastor Wesley's teaching. #3 has been a thorn for my family, we've been hurt twice by 2 different churches.
1st church, We gave money toward a building fund for nearly 4 years $275.00 a month for a new church, and yet til this day NO CHURCH has yet to be built, not even a door knob.
We along with maybe about 12 other families, and no one can tell us where the monies went.
2nd. Church the pastor's wife admitted to stealing the church monies spending it on couponing and personal funding for herself and 1 of her daughters [ paying cell phone bills, rent, power bill) which was done over a course of 4 years.
All the tithes that we worked hard for and offerings was misused and yet the pastor pretends he knew nothing of it...
NOW I HAVE A HATRED WHEN IT COMES TO GIVEN MONIES TO A CHURCH.
But yet at this new church we belong to now I do pay my tithes.

Give your tithes to a charity or help someone in need if you don’t want to give to the church

11. Sometimes I do not like how people think in the church. It is always about turning to your neighbor. No, take a look at yourself.
12. Pastors and priests can be condescending and thus psychologically abusive. They always assume that "you did not get," hear or understand their message. It is annoying.

A situation is not called judgement if there are FACTS present. There are so many great points this pastor brings about but when u steer ppl away from the what thus says the Lord to get ur point across that's called hypocrisy. I agree we shouldn't jus talk about sin and he'll. Grace is a key factor, I've found out that when only grace is talked about, most ppl think that's a green light to sin as much as they want to. There are acts of worship that CANNOT take place if one does not go to church...forsake not the assembly. These ppl need script....not lip. Again my🙏🙏🙏🙏 are with you and your congregation.

Fellowship with other believers = Critcal. A church home = important.
That "time thang" is bogus. Church services is the ONLY PLACE when time is questioned!! Sports, Parties, Receptions, MUSICALS of SORTS, THE GAMBLING BOATS, etc... TIME is never an issue!! God is ALWAYS cut short. He only takes 5min. For a HURRICANE. DIG THAT!!

my thing was money. i love my church and i understand the purpose of a the tithe but when i bring people to church they don't want to come back because they feel preasured to tithe, And before they even tell me why they did'nt like it or why or why they won't come back i already know why. They feel preasured into tithing.
And why do churches always use that tithing script about bring your tithe to the store house. I know it better than any other scripture because they pound this one in everytime we go to church and like you said i already know what i gonna give before hand.

I'm from Wisconsin, so I don't know the burroughs of NY. I became acquainted with the BROOKLYN TABERNACLE via its choir on a CHRISTian TV channel a few years ago. There are many RUclips videos from there, AND their DVDs (3 in particular) with praise concerts intermingled with wonderful pre-recorded testimonies led to my getting over lifelong depression. (It's called heartily praising the LORD and focusing on the unchanging, always-loving Savior rather than those who hurt us ... People are all sinners and capable of hurt.)
They also have a wonderful 24-hour prayer ministry.
