Perfectly assimilated into the otherwise 98% Scruggs style. I've always wondered what it was like for Monroe's banjo player back around this time (late 70s early 80s) when so many players were flipping for the new Melodic and chromatic licks. Did your boss ever let you know his opinion on those? Did he for example ever look over and say, "ok Butch, let's keep it straight" when you tried to throw in too many melodic or chromatic runs?
