Cotton Candy has a certain sweetness to it that makes it different than other candies. I used to think marshmellow and cotton candy were similar in taste, but in recent years I've learned it's a whole new ball park. Cotton candy has made my life better.
The part where you mixed the soft serve with Oreo pudding and crushed up Oreos took me back to college. Our student Union had this little shake thing and there were so many different flavors and you could choose how thick you wanted it. Definitely a highlight of my four years.

I think the flavor most commonly reffered to as just "Cotton Candy" is usually actually "Strawberry Flavored Cotton Candy". Which would match fairly well with the expections of the color pink. This is at least the trend I see in other types of candies, so I'm assuming it's simular for ice cream.
