Brodin is right, the editorial for the HP books in USA dumbed down the title because they thought that "Philosopher´s Stone" would sound too boring or complicated for the target audience.
Trader Joe's gives you 20% off, a gym membership, very good healthcare, vision and dental, and 20 dollars an hour starting (nationwide, with 10 more dollars per hour on Sunday) with a guaranteed raise every 6 months. But no, most the food isn't organic. Figured I'd leave this note here.
I'm always amazed by anyone who can go to the movies or decide to watch a movie and then fall asleep to it, if i watch a new movie i have never fallen asleep to it. An old movie i have seen before maybe or as a kid.
I'm always confused when people consider Toronto the East Coast. It is like a 12+ hour drive from Toronto to reach the first part of the Canadian coast haha
Regarding Netflix, the Top 10 is 100% the accurate Top 10 for that day. The way it works is Netflix (and many other streaming services) is always juggling the many properties it has streaming rights to at any given time. Once or twice a month generally Netflix will release (or re-release) various content onto the site that it did not have available for streaming for some time prior to that. That is why you will suddenly see the less than stellar 2001 Planet of the Apes in the Top 10 for example. Most people have seen everything they want to see on the platform, so the moment new stuff drops they jump on it and that unified synchronized viewing causes it to jump into the Top 10 list for the day.
Brodin mentioned Kung Fu Panda being in the Top 10. It was. That is because as Kung Fu Panda 4 was coming soon to theatres, all the old Kung Fu Panda movies were likely pulled from Netflix. This happens because there is revived interest in the films leading up to the one coming out in theatres, and the licensing right costs go way up for that time period, not just to stream, but because there is an inordinate number of people watching a movie that might otherwise not have decided to watch. Other streaming platforms then choose to invest in these film franchises for the 2 months or so leading up to the theatrical release and while it is in theatres. They opt to pay the expensive licensing because they are the only platform that is allowed to have it at that time and it generates new sign-ups to the service, which they hope people will be too lazy to cancel for a time. Once the hype of the theatrical release dies down, the exclusive rights deal ends and the movies go back onto the various streaming networks, and in the case of Netflix- with a bunch of notifications letting people know it is back and available. Also don't discount the Kung Fu Pandas and Shreks of the online streaming world, remember how many tablet babysitter babies are out there. There's a reason Cocomelon is the youtube juggernaut that it is.
Hearing Danny say he's 31 was surreal to me. I swear it was last week i was watching this guy take over Scarra's spot on Dignitas and thinking this is their year!
I think I’m a 5 maybe a 4 but part of my problem is I can’t land on a single idea. Like for an apple or tree I’m constantly changing what I’m trying to think of like color or shape or size, or is the apple half eaten or does the tree still have leaves, so it feels like I can never focus enough to actually see an image but when I do it may be like a quick flash of something before it’s gone.
Did you know that the Starbucks inside of shops (like a book store) give free refills? Apparently the store reimburses Starbucks for the refills to keep people shopping.
As an animated fan I gotta agree, rarely ever an animated movie is outside of a formula. But I'm optimistic after spider-verse, Puss in boots, TMNT, Nimona, Chicken run. I'm still mad how bad Raya is as an Indonesian :P
@Brodin, you gotta watch the original "The Grudge." It's based on the japanese horror movie "Ju-On". I saw it in highschool 20 yrs ago and it still gives me nightmares
The Mona Lisa is specifically famous for a technique called "Sfumato" aka "the technique of allowing tones and colors to shade gradually into one another" Its a pretty mediocre painting tbh especially compared to his other work.
Also Broden saying DiCaprio and no-one mentioning it is extremely funny to me; doesn't matter if it was a genuine accident but I wouldn't put it past him to just hang that fruit out there for funsies :D
def don't agree that 'As Above, So Below' is objectively bad but to each their own. Found Footage really isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine. Here's a list i made of Found Footage Horror i think that are worth watching. Most are Horror Horror, but some are just horror adjacent. What We Do In the Shadows (2014) Cloverfield series (2008-2018) One Cut of the Dead (2017) Blair Witch (1999) Blair Witch (2016) Hell House LLC series (2015-2024) Gonjiam Haunted Asylum (2018) Incantation (2022) V/H/S series (2012-present) Host (2020) REC series (2007-2014) and the American remake Quarantine 1 & 2 (2008-2011) The Tunnel (2011) As Above, So Below (2014) Grave Encounters 1 & 2 (2011-2012) The Medium (2021) Troll Hunter (2010) Paranormal Activity series (2007-2021) The Visit (2015) The Devil's Doorway (2018) Afflicted (2013) The Houses October Built 1 & 2 (2014-2017) The Blackwell Ghost (2017) The Bay (2012) Creep 1 & 2 (2014-2017) The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014) The Last Exorcism (2010) The Sacrement (2013) Skinamarink (2022) Unfriended 1 & 2 (2014-2018) Chronicle (2012) Searching (2018) and Missing (2023) Willow Creek (2013) Lake Mungo (2008) Noroi: The Curse (2005) Deadstream (2022) Horror in the High Desert (2021) Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015) M.O.M - Mothers of Monsters (2020)
Why am I surprised Danny speaks good English. In all the clips he seemed like a second language English speaker. But he was probably drunk in all those clips.
I wouldn't rely on the descriptions of the handicap as given in this podcast, it was a particularly confusing explanation that almost had Danny thinking he had it. Regardless of how Jodi was describing it, people do not literally see objects when they close their eyes, they see the backs of their eye-lids and darkness. The visualization takes place in the mind with varying degrees of detail. People with aphantasia cannot visualize a tree or an apple or a dragon.
I appreciate that Brodin would always ask Jodi if she’s familiar with whatever topic he’s about to jump into if he’s unsure. Another great episode.
Having Brodin on has been great in general, idk if this is his doing either but the new consistency in upload schedule is great.
Danny is such a great personality. Love seeing him in videos.
brodin calling jalapeños "jaluhpenos" is WILD
him saying leonardo dicaprio painted the mona lisa is wild XD
And right after Sean proceeds to destroy Jodi's right ear
Wop wop wop wop wop
"wait what do you mean can I SEEEEEEE IIITTTT" LOLOLLOL shiphtur
LETS GO DANNY PODCAST!!!!!!!
Brodin took that shot like water lol must have been Don Julio no way it was JC
Black label 👉👈
FINALLY ANOTHER POD 😁
Brodin is right, the editorial for the HP books in USA dumbed down the title because they thought that "Philosopher´s Stone" would sound too boring or complicated for the target audience.
TIL what a philosopher's stone is
shiphtur is overdue for a podcast run
is no one gonna mention that brodin said leonardo dicaprio painted the mona lisa instead of Leonardo da Vinci #CancelBrodin
I came to the comments to see if anyone else caught this XD
i was drawing and not really listening wholly but this sentence triggered my ear LOL
33:03 I just heard it

Anyone know what the magical smut that Jodi were talking about?
A Shadow in the Ember - she mentions it in a blink and you'll miss it moment at 1:10:45
33:05 Leonardo de Caprio lmao 😂
I thought more people noticed! 😂
Brodin just bringing up Salo like that won't traumatize them in a different way.
What is the title of the book that Jodi is explaining at 1:03:45 Maybe I'll try to buy it. It sounds interesting.
this what i wanna know
@@skad0ush801 'A shadow in the ember' (i think, heard them also say 'Red rising', so one of these 2 or both)
47:36 I know there's other ppl in the set, but still spooky to see someone move past in the dark LMAO
crazy that nobody acknowledged brodin calling jalapeno poppers "ja lap ano" poppers
I'm always confused when people consider Toronto the East Coast. It is like a 12+ hour drive from Toronto to reach the first part of the Canadian coast haha
I love how she takes the time to mention Drake any time she can lol

The Hills Have Eyes was such a messed up movie.
The Mona Lisa is specifically famous for a technique called "Sfumato" aka "the technique of allowing tones and colors to shade gradually into one another" Its a pretty mediocre painting tbh especially compared to his other work.
